Rick Patterson of Imperial Kennels in Suffolk VA has been an issue for this region since he decided to breed dogs 4 years ago. He breeds Belgian Malinois, GSD, and Dobermans. He has been in trouble with AKC many times for false pedigrees, changing dogs names and even using his children's names on the pedigree because of his issues. He makes up lies about his dogs, where they come from and what they were used for. He boasts about an A+ BBB rating but many people have provided proof of his lies and he somehow gets them removed. He likes to impersonate law enforcement and tell people his dogs were military and law dogs. No department will get a dog from him because they know him too well. He currently has 8 pending felonies, a Protection order from a client he lied to and 2 more felonies getting charged this week. He also buys fake likes on his Facebook page to try and look respected. He lied to a Purple Heart recipient Wounded Warrior from the marines with PTSD. He is NOT affiliated with Wounded Warriors and has been reported. He made a story up about a site saying he was a navy seal dog and had been on 4 deployments and the dog had PTSD. The story pulled on the marines heart strings and he ended up with a Belgian Malinois who bites his 2 Young children and his wife. So he sold a dog under false pretenses to this poor family and they are having a hard time now because of him. He said that service dog training would be provided but did nothing. He says he is a Master trainer but he is not. He has. It been trained, he watches YouTube videos, that's it. He won't give them their money back but did offer after he found out he has been exposed. A local news channel is going to cover the story. When he gets confronted and people find out his lies he acts crazy. He has a ton Of lawsuits against him and his wife Christine D Patterson. They don't pay the companies that have poured concrete, worked on their property and even fencing companies have sued them for in payment. They are just horrible people that push out as many puppies as they can just for money. Stay away. Here is a blog about a lot of lies and deceit he has been caught in. There is a different story for every potential customer just to make a sale.

Sarah Leggett is not a customer of ours, and does not have one of my dogs. Sadly, I do not send this information to casual observers who we have not done business either

Sorry, we do not sell "peekaboo!" Please visit my website, www.imperialkennels.org and you will see that we only breed the working and herding breeds of German shepherds, Belgian Malinois, Dutch shepherds, and Doberman Pinschers.

Sadly, a "peekaboo" would not last thirty minutes on my property.

I bought a Peekapoo dog from him in November 2014. Upon the ride home from Suffolk to the Greenbrier area of Chesapeake, the dog vomited in the vehicle. Initially, I thought it was due to car sickness, but through the day, he continued to vomit and had loose stools. We took him to the ER that night, and found out he had hookworms. I also noted on his vaccine record that was given to us after the sale, that is birthday differed about 2 weeks from the advertised age . Our dog is doing fine now, and is the sweetest, but after reading after stories about Imperial Kennels, I felt I had to post.
