Howard Floors & More installed luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring in our home in August 2022. Approx. 1 yr later we noticed the planks were chipping and breaking apart. Barry Howard came to our home and said it was faulty LVP and responsibility of store/manufacturer we purchased from. Rod's Carpet, Tile & Wood came out to the house and subsequently set-up an independent flooring inspector to come and assess the root cause. Results of the independent report is that the flooring was installed improperly; many reasons (too many to write here) why the LVP was failing. Barry Howard came to our home again and we gave him a copy of the report and he pulled off ALL the quarter round on the first floor to prove there was sufficient spacing. He insisted we get a second independent inspection BUT he will not pay to have it done. Rod's Carpet was gracious to set-up and pay for the requested 2nd inspection. The inspectors each had over 30 years of experience with flooring. Second report came back and also stated cause was due to the installation. We contacted Barry again and he did not respond. After several text messages from us, he replied via text and said he's done with us and that we should stop contacting him and to take whatever steps we deem necessary. According to Barry's business card, he is licensed and insured. Before we hired Barry for the installation he told us he was a member of Angi. I have photos of new LVP floor as well as photos of our failing floor but was unable to attach them below.

Claimed loss: Cost of luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring $5,385.00Cost of installation by Howard Floors & More LLC $4,482.50

Desired outcome: Seeking cost of materials and installation back from Howard Floors so we can get this flooring replaced. It's to the point now there are so many chipped planks and planks that are not lying flat that we have to wear foot protection.
