Good morning! I trust you're doing well. The reason for this email is to discuss my booking experience for a Honda Civic on 10th August 2022 at Honda Avenue, Islamabad, Pakistan under the Bank HBL RDA Apni Car Scheme.
Initially, during the first conversation, the representative mentioned that they typically require 3 to 4 months for delivery, with a maximum outside limit of 6 months. However, the expected delivery date provided was 31st May 2023. I understand this might differ from what my HBL representative communicated over the phone.
Skipping over the timeline, let's focus on the delivery date of 31st May 2023. When I inquired about the status of my car, a representative
from Honda Avenue informed me that there were delays due to the temporary closure of Honda's manufacturing plants. Moreover, they
attributed the delay to the unavailability of certain Honda parts required for production.
Moving to the recent development on 23rd August 2023, I received a call from a Honda representative. Surprisingly, I was informed that I could receive the car in October 2023, but this would necessitate an additional payment of around PKR 1,850,000. This is noteworthy because I had already made an initial payment of PKR 71,79,500, which was the agreed-upon amount at the time of placing the order.
My concern revolves around the fact that the delay in receiving my car was solely attributed to the closure of Honda's manufacturing plants
and the unavailability of necessary parts. Throughout this entire process, I ensured timely payments, having initiated them on 10th
August 2022. The delay, however, occurred at the HBL and Honda's end, rather than due to any lapse from my side.
Despite the extended wait of over 12 months and the considerable effort I invested in meeting various commitments associated with the
car, I find myself in a rather unexpected situation. My anticipation was that both HBL and Honda would honor their commitment, especially considering the initially projected delivery date of 31st May 2023.
Surprisingly, instead of offering compensation for the considerable delay that has occurred, which has significantly impacted my plans and
commitments, I have been presented with a new proposition. Honda has requested an additional payment of PKR 1,850,000with an incredibly short window until 30th August 2023, to secure this price and ensure the car's delivery in Oct 2023.
Since the delay in the car's delivery was entirely a result of circumstances at Honda's end, unrelated to any actions on my part, I
believe it's reasonable to seek compensation for the inconvenience caused. At the very least, I expect to receive the car at the initially agreed-upon price. Alternatively, I am willing to consider paying the price that was applicable on 31st May 2023, which was the
expected delivery date initially provided. It's important to emphasize that the subsequent delay was due to the temporary closure of Honda's manufacturing plants and the unavailability of essential parts.
I escalated this matter to HBL RDA, but their response was to distance themselves from the situation, claiming that they are also in the
position of a customer, much like myself.
I kindly urge Honda to address and resolve this matter on my behalf. It's important to emphasize that the delay did not originate from any actions on my part, and I have patiently waited for a considerable duration. Furthermore, the amount in question is not a minor sum; it amounts to PKR 18.5 lac, which I am unable to readily produce and provide to Honda.
The particulars of my car are provided in the attached document.
I eagerly await a thoughtful and impactful response from your end as no one is responding to my wuery appropriately neither Honda at Pakistan nor HBL.

Country of complaint: Pakistan
Desired outcome: As delay was at Honda end, they didn’t delivered car to me on expected date 31/05/2023 due to their circumstances, and now they are asking me for PKR 1,850,000 instead of compensating for delay.
