HEXRPG HEXRPG: A Magical Community of Like-Minded Harry Potter Fans

I've been a regular on HEXRPG for a good few years now and I must say, I've had nothing but positive experiences. This site has been a haven for me during some tough times, both physically and mentally. I've made some amazing friends who have been there for me through thick and thin. HEXRPG is not just a game, it's a community of like-minded people who share a passion for the magical world of Harry Potter.

I've participated in numerous contests and events on the site and have had a blast collecting items that I absolutely adore. The people on this site are truly talented and wonderful. They make HEXRPG a special place that I always look forward to visiting.

I've read through some of the reviews below and I can't help but notice that the common issue seems to be people not following the site's terms and conditions. It's really not that hard to abide by the rules. If you don't want to get an owl about having multiple accounts, then don't make more than one. It's as simple as that. And if you think you may have had an account before or have someone else in your household who uses the site, just be upfront about it.

HEXRPG is a game and like all games, it has rules that need to be followed. These rules are in place to ensure that the game remains fair for everyone. I understand that not everyone may agree with the way the rules are enforced, but it's not fair to blame the site for the consequences of breaking the rules that you agreed to when you joined.

This site is a diverse community with a wide range of personalities and ideologies. There are bound to be people that you don't get along with or like. However, there are also people who you will cherish and enjoy spending time with. The site is big enough that you can avoid those who rub you the wrong way and focus on the people who make your experience on HEXRPG a positive one.

If you want to avoid drama and negative interactions with staff or admins, then it's best to follow the basic kindergarten rule of "if you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all". It's a simple rule that can help you avoid any unnecessary conflicts with others.

In conclusion, HEXRPG is not a perfect site, but it's a wonderful place to spend time with some truly fantastic people who share a passion for the magical world of Harry Potter. If you can follow a few simple rules and treat others with kindness and respect, then there's no reason why you can't have a great time on this site.

HEXRPG Review of HEXRPG: Fun and Immersive, but with Serious Issues to Address

HEXRPG is a website that is dedicated to providing a fun and immersive role-playing experience for fans of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The site offers a variety of features, including an economy system, games, pets, clubs, and the ability to interact with canon characters. However, there are some issues that need to be addressed.

One of the biggest problems with HEXRPG is the way that staff members treat users who are on the autism spectrum. There have been instances where autistic individuals have been bullied by staff members, who claim that being autistic is "no excuse" for breaking the rules. This is a serious issue, as autistic individuals often require patience and understanding in order to fully participate in online communities.

Another issue with HEXRPG is the way that transphobia and homophobia are allowed to run rampant on the site. Staff members have been known to ignore reports of transphobic and homophobic behavior, and users who speak out against this behavior are often punished instead of the perpetrators. This creates a toxic environment for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies, and it is unacceptable.

Additionally, there are concerns about the way that rules are enforced on HEXRPG. Some users have reported being punished for minor infractions, while others are allowed to engage in behavior that is clearly against the rules. This lack of consistency creates confusion and frustration among users, and it is something that needs to be addressed.

Despite these issues, there are still many users who enjoy HEXRPG and find it to be a fun and engaging community. However, it is important to be aware of the problems that exist on the site and to take steps to address them. If you are considering joining HEXRPG, it is important to be cautious and to not financially support the site until these issues have been resolved.

HEXRPG Experience the Magic of Hogwarts: A Review of HexRPG's Community and Classes

I've been a member of HexRPG for six years now, and let me tell you, it's been a wild ride. The community is amazing, and the staff is always there to help you out. I joined because I wanted to experience the magic of Hogwarts, and I have to say, HexRPG delivers. The classes are so much fun, and the homework is challenging enough to keep you engaged. I've made so many friends on HexRPG, and I love spending time with them.

There's always something going on at HexRPG. From writing contests to trivia games, there's never a dull moment. The forums are always buzzing with activity, and there's always someone to chat with. The community is very welcoming, and I've never felt out of place. The writers on HexRPG are incredibly talented, and the fanfiction is top-notch. I've even dabbled in role-playing, and it's been a blast.

HexRPG takes care of its members. When you first join, you're given a tutorial on how to navigate the website, and you're assigned a mentor. The mentors are there to help you out with anything you need, from changing your avatar to finding your common room. They're a great resource, and I've learned so much from them.

Now, I've seen some negative reviews of HexRPG, and I have to say, I don't understand them. The rules are simple: no multiple accounts, keep things PG-13, and don't bully/attack others. These rules are in place to keep things fair and respectful. I've never had any issues with the rules, and I've never seen anyone else have any issues either. It's common sense to be respectful of others, and if someone isn't following the rules, they'll be dealt with.

My advice to anyone thinking about joining HexRPG is to go for it. It's a great community, and there's something for everyone. Whether you're into writing, role-playing, or just chatting with others, you'll find a home on HexRPG. So come on in, make some friends, and have some fun!

HEXRPG Disappointed with HEX: A Review of the Site's Failure to Create a Safe Space for Marginalized Communities

I've been a member of HEX for over five years now and I have to say, I'm really disappointed with the way things are going. There's a forum on the site called Dumbledore's Office (D.O.) that claims to be all about "acceptance and diversity," but in reality, it's anything but. Sure, there are a few regular posters who are genuinely kind and supportive, but the staff as a whole seems to be more interested in making money than creating a safe space for LGBTQ folks and people of color.

One of the most active threads on D.O. is a "safe place" for Trump supporters. Now, I don't know about you, but I don't think there's anything "safe" about supporting a man who has made it his mission to strip away the rights of marginalized communities. Trump is a racist, transphobic white supremacist, and anyone who supports him is complicit in his bigotry. Yet, the staff at HEX seems to think that it's perfectly acceptable to give these people a platform to spew their hate.

And it's not just the Trump supporters who are the problem. There are users on the site who proudly display their homophobia and transphobia for all to see. I've seen people with "#NoToMarriageEquality" in their status updates, and it makes me sick to my stomach. This kind of hate speech should not be tolerated, but when we report these users, we're told that it's just "freedom of speech." Well, I'm sorry, but freedom of speech does not give you the right to dehumanize and discriminate against others.

What's even worse is that when we speak out against this kind of bigotry, we're accused of bullying and threatened with expulsion. It's like the staff at HEX cares more about protecting the feelings of bigots than they do about creating a safe space for marginalized communities. It's incredibly frustrating and disheartening.

I used to love HEX. I thought it was a great community where I could be myself and connect with others who shared my interests. But now, I'm seriously considering leaving the site for good. It's just not worth it to be part of a community that claims to be about "acceptance and diversity" but actively defends people who see me as a lesser human being. It's cowardly and it's wrong.

HEXRPG HEXRPG: A Toxic Community with Untrustworthy Admins

I used to be a regular on HEXRPG, a website where I could participate in role-playing games and socialize with other users. For the first few years, I felt welcomed and was excited to continue being a part of the community. However, things took a turn for the worse when the site's admins began to show their true colors.

In January of 2018, I was sent to Azkaban, which is a form of punishment on the site, for trying to help a fellow HEXRPG user. The admins accused me of "acting like an admin," but I strongly disagree. If I was truly trying to act like an admin, I would have threatened bans and acted like a boss. Instead, I was simply trying to help someone out.

When I reached out for mental health support, I was met with disappointment. The admins claimed to care about my well-being, but in reality, they didn't. If your life isn't perfect in a fantasy world, you're constantly berated and bullied by the community and the admins. It's impossible to bring in more positivity when you're struggling with mental health issues.

To make matters worse, someone even sent me a death threat, and the admins stood up for the bully. When I tried to defend myself, I was sent to Azkaban once again. It's clear that the admins choose to stand up for bullies, which is unacceptable.

After being released from Azkaban, I tried to interact with my friends on HEXRPG at the Great Hall. However, people kept using public prank items for "fun," even after I asked them to stop. One person even sent me an owl saying that they were unapologetic. I reported the owl, but one of the admins, Katie, claimed that public pranks don't count as bullying and refused to take action.

Suddenly, without warning, I was expelled from the site. I had given HEXRPG many chances, but it's clear that people who struggle with mental health issues are no longer welcome. After reading other negative reviews, I'm convinced that the admins are no longer trustworthy.

I used to be a part of another RP site, Harry Potter Online RPG, where the admins were true dictators. They encouraged bullying using prank items and even banned me for seeking emotional support. Sadly, HEXRPG has gone down the same path.

In the past, RP sites were popular because social media platforms were primitive and didn't offer much. While they weren't perfect, they made kids happy. Nowadays, we have Discord, Skype, Facebook, and other platforms that make RP sites obsolete.

I strongly advise against joining HEXRPG under any circumstances. If you're looking to RP, consider finding a Discord server instead. It may not be perfect, but it's far better than dealing with this terrible website. I can't believe I donated to HEXRPG for extra perks. What a waste.

HEXRPG HEXrpg: A Community of Homophobic and Nationalist Bigots - A Review

I'm a user of Hexrpg and I've been a part of this community for a few years now. I joined this website when Pottermore started to go downhill and I was really happy with the community here. However, things started to change around 2017 when they fired a lot of their kind and helpful staff. The new staff they hired were rude, insensitive, and unprofessional bigots. They publicly complain about specific users, edit sections of their posts to censor any kind of constructive criticism about moderators, and threaten people with expulsion for calmly disagreeing with them on minor issues.

I was a moderator in one area for a while last year and I saw a lot of the atrocities said about ordinary innocent users in the giant lower-mod forum. I can only imagine how much worse it is in Staff forums. More recently, in the last 6 months there's been an increase in the number of people openly making homophobic and white nationalist statements. They even go so far as to proudly post that they are "Anti-Equality". This intimidation has increased again in the LGBTQ-friendly forum now that LGBTQ Pride Month has rolled around.

Staff refuses to do anything about this. I have reported several people in the past few months for making deeply concerning homophobic statements and bragging about "straight pride", but I get the same response of "Straight pride is the same as LGBTQ pride and doesn't cause any harm". This is FALSE and insulting. Straight pride is often about being proud of their privilege and power over LGBTQ and a celebration of how they deny LGBTQ people their basic rights. Straight pride causes DEATH to gay people who just want equal rights.

They even went as far as saying that the people who have "Straight White Pride" statuses and avatars (that were created by white nationalist groups!) are the same as people who say that Black Lives Matter. This is simply ludicrous as White Pride comes at the expense of the LIVES of people of color!

Two days ago one of my mentees (who is a transgender and gay young teenager) came to me upset because he saw people in the LGBTQ forum say that he was going to Hell for being gay and trans and staff were refusing to take action or make any comment. I asked a staff member how I should respond appropriately and she had the audacity to say I should tell a 14-year-old to "get over it and just don't read their posts."

I am horrified by their lazy conduct recently and I simply cannot stand for their support of homophobic and nationalist bigots. It's seriously hurting many of their users and they don't even care, just because they think people who call themselves anti-equality "don't mean any harm because they're not personally attacking people."

It's time for me to join many of my friends who have stepped down from their positions and left HEX in the last 6 months due to the hurt this has caused. I encourage anyone who has morals to do the same, unless the staff decides to do the right thing like they used to do. And dear LGBTQ people please stay safe and be somewhere you will be protected from this violence.

HEXRPG Review: HEXRPG - A Magical Online Community for Harry Potter Fans

HEXRPG is a free fan site that immerses you in the magical world of Harry Potter. It offers a variety of features, including a common room, Diagon Alley, role-playing forums, Quidditch matches, an economy, classes, and games. The site is designed to provide a fun and engaging experience for Harry Potter fans.

As a user of HEXRPG, I can attest that the site delivers on its promises. The forums are active and provide a great platform for role-playing and chatting with other fans. The classes are informative and help you earn House Points, which can contribute to your house winning the House Cup. The games are also enjoyable and add to the overall experience.

However, some negative reviews have been posted about the site. Many of these reviews are from users who have broken the rules, such as creating multiple accounts or using curse words. HEXRPG has clear guidelines on what is and isn't allowed, and users who violate these rules are given warnings before their accounts are expelled. It's important to follow the rules if you want to enjoy the site.

Another issue raised in negative reviews is the presence of homophobic or transphobic users. While it's unfortunate that some users may hold these views, it's important to remember that HEXRPG is a fan site, not a platform for social justice. The site's primary goal is to provide a fun and engaging experience for Harry Potter fans.

It's also worth noting that negative reviews represent only a small percentage of the site's user base. Only about 5-10% of consumers write reviews, and of the 280 members currently online, only 16.78% have posted negative reviews. It's important to take these reviews with a grain of salt and not let them overshadow the positive experiences of the majority of users.

Overall, I highly recommend HEXRPG to any Harry Potter fan looking for a fun and engaging online community. The site delivers on its promises and provides a great platform for role-playing, chatting, and enjoying all things Harry Potter. Just remember to follow the rules and not expect the site to solve all the world's problems.

HEXRPG HEXRPG: A Former Mod's Experience - Beware of Horrid Mods and Inconsistent Policies

I gotta say, I used HEXRPG for a good five years before I left. And let me tell you, a lot of the reviews I've seen here are just plain wrong. As a former mod, I know a lot about the site, both as a user and behind the scenes. Sure, I had to lock threads sometimes, but only because we had a rule thread at the top of the forum that explicitly said it was against the rules of our specific forum. I didn't like doing it, but it was my job, and it was against the rules. I tried to be as polite as possible, and I think I was well-liked as a mod since I always got messages back from newbies saying so, even if a few people were extremely rude to me. A lot of the other mods were also great people.

HEXRPG does have things you can buy, but you can enjoy the site without paying a penny. I know because I never did. I also had many, many, many items and Galleons, but I spent a lot of time trying to earn all that. I actually lost most contests I entered UNLESS very few people entered that contest. I worked for my stuff. But, I also had a lot of stuff because I actually spent five years of my life working at it rather than only a couple months. For my first two years on HEX, I actually had less than 100k Galleons and only junk items. So, I'd say a lot of these reviews are completely wrong.

Now, let me tell you about my experience as a former mod. I was trapped. I had all the work piled on me because no one else wanted to do it. They knew I'd pick up the slack since I didn't want the newbies to just be lost, so they said "this person does all the work, I don't have to do anything." Then, eventually I was crushed by the pressure and also because I was being abused off-HEX by someone. But, this person managed to weasel their way into working with me, and our gmods+ didn't even give us input if we approved of this person. As soon as it happened, I knew I couldn't work with this person. Even when I tried to resign, I was told no. When my other mod job tried to do the same thing, and I mentioned up front before they were added that I couldn't work with them, I was told no as well. Then, I was fired from both even though I had already tried to resign, so lucky me my records are ruined. I was also banned several times both before and after this because of the abusive person, and the other people refused to look into it. Even when I came back and requested it, they refused. I even wrote to them saying it's funny that I was called one of the best mods, and I have messages from an admin thanking me so much for that, and even the Head Admin sent me messages asking me for help all the time (which is so weird and bizarre but I appreciated it)... but then that turned so quickly to me being the worst HEX user in history so quickly because of one user that already did this to other people. But, apparently they can't use logic to see how their opinions changed so quickly. But, yay, I can't even get the time of day, and I've been banned several times and also expelled for life because I "bullied" my abuser. This was in May, I believe, so yes a lot of time has passed. And I still do not feel sorry one bit for anything I did since I shouldn't have to apologize for existing.

So, in conclusion, while most mods are great and you shouldn't jump to conclusions about them, some others are freaking horrid, and this is proof of it. They say that they have a strong anti-bullying policy, but apparently that only goes so far. And THAT is why I believe it's not worth joining, NOT for the other reasons people have said.

HEXRPG HEXRPG Review: A Wonderful Site with a Major Staffing Issue

I've been a part of HEXRPG for a couple of years now, and I have to say that it's an amazing site. The community is fantastic, and the constant improvements being made to old features and the introduction of new ones are wonderful. The standard of work in lessons and coding/graphic design is impressive, and the creativity and effort that regular mods put into events and contests every day is simply phenomenal. The site is much bigger than it looks, and it's definitely worth joining.

However, the main issue that consistently brings their ratings down is the staff. Now, most people who break rules just get what's coming for them, and being put in Azkaban for a day or so isn't actually a big deal at all as long as you've learned your lesson. But higher up staff and Admins are the issue. Half of the admins aren't active anymore at ALL, and when they are, they're just online briefly, are unavailable to regular users, and are out of touch with everything. This is something that needs to be fixed, but they just couldn't care less about it.

They are perfectly happy to promote people who brag about how they only like the job because they get money and status/power, talk openly about how they hate most of the people they work with, and abuse their powers with no consequences at all when you try to report it. And then they're also happy to completely destroy people they don't like who make minor mistakes and such. For example, they don't care about context when handling situations with "multiple accounts," and if you had an account YEARS ago that you never used and completely forgot about, they will treat that situation the exact same as someone who was knowingly using multiple accounts to manipulate the system, and they will not listen to your side of the story or even let you tell it.

Most staff/admins are genuinely really nice as people if you don't get on their bad side, but when it comes to their power on HEX, they're simply far too trigger-happy, apathetic, and unprofessional. They don't care about context or nuance and won't hear your side; and if they don't like you, you'll pretty much be seen as an easy target to them. An old friend of mine was repeatedly harassed by some mods (some of which still have their positions), and instead of being supported, they were faced with threats and were then ignored when they tried to explain the situation more clearly. Since then, they're now barely a shell of the person I knew because they were made to feel so worthless and hated.

Other friends who were well-established users have abandoned the site in the last few months/years because of staff making them and other people feel so uncomfortable when they did nothing wrong. They don't give a damn about hearing the truth; they're just happy to keep assuming it and do what they like. Even those of us in these positions are uncomfortable sometimes and consider quitting, but we simply love HEX too much, so we keep trying to make it a better, more compassionate place.

All in all, it truly is a wonderful site, just be careful of everything you do and watch out for moderators. I'm still hoping they'll learn empathy and to think before they act and realize that it's real people, many of them confused kids, that they're talking to.

HEXRPG HEX: A Review from a Long-Time User on Recent Issues and Improvements

I ain't part of no group tryna write good or bad reviews, ya know? There's been a lot of those lately, and it's pretty obvious when they were written and when the accounts were made. And I ain't one of them scaredy-cats who won't post under their real name either. I joined HEX a couple years ago, and I never thought I'd stick around this long. But the longer I stayed, the more I realized that it ain't a perfect website. There's issues, for sure. But there's also a lot of people who hold grudges against staff members from years ago, and they still think all the staff are terrible. But I think HEX has been improving things, like with the Diversity Committee and the Customer Service Committee. They're trying to make the site more welcoming for people from different backgrounds, and they're trying to make sure nobody gets unfairly punished. People need to give them a chance to do better.

Now, there's been some recent issues that got people all riled up. Someone posted a comment that was taken the wrong way, and it wasn't taken down right away. But that's because staff had to check into the situation. It got edited out the same day, and the person probably got a warning or something. Another person was using the new pronouns section to say she was a biological woman, but it was meant in a transphobic way. That wasn't taken down right away either, but it got taken down eventually, with probably a warning or something. Staff was really patient and lenient during the whole thing. Emotions were running high, and staff understood that.

You can defend yourself if someone says something hateful, but you can't be hateful back. Staff doesn't believe in an eye for an eye, and that's a good thing. But there's been a group of users who've been bullying people and making them feel unsafe. They've been leaving nasty comments and making people feel unwelcome. I'm part of the LGBTQ+ community, and even I've been made to feel unsafe by some of these people. They've been really loud and active in 'taking action' against comments that didn't even say anything bad. I shared my opinion on something, and they directed posts at me like I didn't matter. But there's plenty of people who stood by me and were glad I spoke up.

For every bad person on HEX, there's a hundred lovely people. That's why I've stuck around. You should try it out for yourself and see what it's like. Everyone has a different experience, and some people make life-lasting friendships on here. And if you don't like it, you can always delete your account. But don't just listen to the negative comments. Positive reviews are allowed too.

HEXRPG HEXRPG Mods Need to Chill Out: A Disappointing Experience

I've been a member of HEXRPG for a good 4 years now, and I gotta say, it's been a rollercoaster ride. I've always tried to follow the rules and do my part, even becoming a HEX mentor and participating in all sorts of events and prize-winning activities. But let me tell you, HEX can be a real stress-fest sometimes. It's like the admins and moderators think we have nothing else going on in our lives and can just drop everything to respond to owls and posts as soon as they come in. I mean, come on, we all have lives outside of HEX, right?

But apparently, the mods don't see it that way. They've been sending me owls left and right, accusing me of "neglecting" my position and whatnot. I've tried to explain that I've been super busy with other stuff, but they just ignore it and act all professional and stuff. It's like they don't even care about us regular folks.

And let me tell you, as a former HEX mentor, I can say that most of the Welcome Owls I sent out were never even read or responded to. And a lot of new users don't even bother logging back in after their first visit. I mean, can you blame them? If they're greeted with a boring black background and nothing interesting to look at, of course they're gonna lose interest. I remember when I first joined HEX, I was like, "What the heck is this place?"

But seriously, the mods need to chill out. They're just regular people like the rest of us, doing their own thing and not really checking up on much. And yet they call us out for the smallest things, like posting a one-word response or something. I mean, come on, there are way more important issues out there, like racism and ignorant comments. They need to get their priorities straight and stop being so petty.

And can we talk about the whole "responding to owls immediately" thing? Like, seriously, if I don't answer an owl within two hours, it's not the end of the world. I live on the other side of the planet, for crying out loud. If they really care about our safety and well-being, they should let us sleep for a few hours, you know?

Overall, I'm just really disappointed with the way the mods handle their power. It's like they're more concerned with whether someone wrote a paragraph of bull than with actual issues that affect the community. If that's how they choose who to call out and punish, then this site is seriously messed up. We need mods who actually care about the users and the community, not just their own egos.

HEXRPG Navigating the Realities of HEXRPG: A Review of the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

Yo, I gotta give a shout-out to my homies who are trying to keep it real with their reviews of HEXRPG. I've been a part of this site for seven years, and let me tell you, it's not all sunshine and rainbows. I've seen some messed up stuff go down, and as a mod, I've had a front-row seat to some of the drama.

Now, don't get me wrong, I love HEX and the people on it. But I can't pretend like everything is perfect. There have been some serious issues with mistreatment, abuse of power, and discrimination. And while the staff is trying to do better, they've still caused a lot of pain to many users.

I'm not saying that the staff is all bad, though. They're actually pretty great, and they're making an effort to improve. But that doesn't excuse the harm that's been done. And let's be real, some of the reviews on here are just straight-up insulting to the staff. That's not cool.

But at the same time, we can't ignore the negative reviews. They're coming from real people who have had real experiences. And if you're part of a marginalized community, you need to be careful on this site. There are bigots here, and sometimes their views are defended, which is total BS.

So yeah, HEXRPG is a great place, but it's not perfect. Take all the reviews with a grain of salt, and don't let anyone silence you if you have valid criticisms.

HEXRPG HEXRPG Review: Disappointing Experience with Rude Staff and Unfair Punishments

I gotta say, I had a pretty bad experience with HEXRPG. I signed up a few years back, hoping to have a good time, but it was so dang complicated that I just gave up and never came back. I forgot my username, password, and even the email I used to register. But recently, a friend convinced me to give it another shot, so I signed up again with the same email. I earned a bunch of galleons and items, but I made sure to send a message to the staff explaining my situation and letting them know that I was using a new account because I couldn't access my old one. I even filled out a form explaining everything.

But when I got a reply from the staff, I was pretty disappointed. They said I was cheating and that I was going to be expelled and sent to Azkaban (which, by the way, is a pretty harsh punishment for a silly game). They didn't even give me a chance to explain myself! I tried to tell them that I just got locked out of my old account and that they could disable it if they wanted, but they just said no and insisted that I use my first account. They completely ignored my multiple accounts form and just accused me of cheating.

Now, I'm banned from the site, and they even recorded all my information - my email and all the private info I gave them when I signed up. In the email they sent me, they said not to even try creating a new account because they had logged my email and info. That's my email! They have no right to put it on some "bad list of emails" just because I did something they didn't like.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this site to anyone. The staff are rude and unhelpful, and the whole experience was just a huge letdown. Don't waste your time on HEXRPG.

HEXRPG HEXRPG: A Once-Pleasant Experience Turned Disappointing Due to Rampant Bigotry

I became a member of HEXRPG back in early 2016 and I must say, it was a pretty decent experience for me. There were a few issues here and there, but overall, it was a pleasant experience. The site had a lot of activities to keep me engaged and I met a lot of friendly people there.

However, things took a turn for the worse in 2018 when I started seeing warnings from members in other forums and apps I use. They were advising people not to join HEXRPG, no matter how tempting it may seem, because of the rampant racist and LGBTphobic dogwhistles that were highly prominent on the site. I initially thought it was a bit exaggerated, but after a few months, I realized that it was indeed true.

I came across reviews from summer 2019 that discussed homophobia happening in the 'inclusive, accepting' forum during pride month. The mods were virtually silent, and this caused a lot of hurt to the more vulnerable members. I witnessed this with my own eyes, and it was deeply saddening. Since then, the issue has snowballed into a much bigger problem, and I find myself enjoying the site less and less.

There is so much racist, homophobic, and transphobic cr-p happening on HEXRPG, and the staff just stays neutral. They take the side of the oppressor, which is unacceptable. It's shocking and disappointing, especially in light of JK Rowling's recent transphobic remarks. I have seen transgender users begging for staff to take a stance and reporting people treating them like garbage, but staff just waters it down to 'differing opinions.' They focus on policing users over their tone when they are rightfully upset, all while cisgender people post in threads about how 'fun' it is to watch the 'drama' without caring about the obvious issues at hand.

It's deeply upsetting, and I would not recommend joining HEXRPG, especially not supporting them financially until they begin to value their vulnerable users being targeted by so much bigotry recently. If you do join, stay safe, and stay out of the forums because so many people there are so dehumanizing and cruel.

HEXRPG A Wild Ride: My Experience with the Confusing Rules and Harsh Consequences of a Popular Website

This website is pretty cool! I've been using it for a couple of years now and I have to say, it's been a pretty wild ride. When I first joined, I didn't really understand the rules. And then, just when I thought I had them down, they went and changed them all up on me! It was pretty confusing, to be honest. Some of the rules make sense, but others are just plain weird.

One thing I will say is that the consequences for breaking the rules are pretty harsh. You get one warning and then it's off to Azkaban with you! And let me tell you, Azkaban is no joke. You're banned from the site for a day or more! I've broken a lot of rules in my time on the site, but it's not because I'm a troublemaker. It's just that some of the rules are so darn confusing! And even if you accidentally break a tiny rule, you're still going to Azkaban.

I remember one time I accidentally typed a cuss word because I hit the wrong letter. And just like that, I was banned from the site for days! It was crazy. And the worst part is, you don't even get a chance to explain yourself before you get banned. It's like they don't even care about your side of the story.

But the absolute worst thing that ever happened to me was when I got banned for a year because of something someone else did. I was guilty by association, apparently. One of my roleplay partners said a bad word and I got kicked off the site for a whole year! I didn't even get a notice or anything. Just an email saying I was banned until June 02, 2020. It was so unfair. I get that rules are rules, but come on. I've accidentally broken a lot of them because they're so confusing! And the staff is just so biased and rude about it.

There are a couple of mods in particular who are just the worst. Cait and Pyper, I'm looking at you. They've punished me the most and the harshest. It's just not fair. And they're so rude about it too! One time my sister accidentally typed a cuss word and I got banned for a few days. When I came back, I wasn't even allowed in the roleplay central for six months! I tried to explain that it wasn't me, but they didn't care. If you break a rule on your account, it's your problem. And then there was the time my sister tried to make an account and got expelled. And because our accounts were connected, I got banned too! Their excuse was "no multiple accounts." It was ridiculous.

But you know what? Despite all of that, the people on the site are actually pretty amazing. I've made a lot of great friends and I even met my penpal on there! So if you can handle the confusing rules and the harsh consequences, it's definitely worth checking out. Just be prepared for some rude mods.

HEXRPG HEXRPG Review: Discrimination, Harassment, and Toxicity - A Warning to Potential Users

I don't usually write reviews, but I feel like I have to share my experience with HEXRPG. I've been watching the recent changes on the site, and while some have been for the better, many have been for the worse. I can't stay silent anymore. I've seen someone who has dedicated so much time to the site be turned on by certain members of a group who have caused a real mess. Unfortunately, good people have been caught in the middle.

If you're trans, a POC, or anything that doesn't fit the mold, I wouldn't recommend joining. I didn't believe this myself until this week. Staff members are quitting and saying it's a ploy. Other staff members are being alienated and accused of harassment when they were against it. The site has turned on the wrong people. I've watched someone who has COVID still fight alongside their moderator brothers and sisters, only to be thrown away. One user gave everything to the site, while another is brainwashing people. Yet, those trying to make HEX safe are being discarded like trash. HEX is disgusting for getting rid of people who are on the side of the users, not the side of the JKRIOP group that is very much like a cult. There are members of that group who want the right things, but HEX got rid of the problem child and is now going after anyone in that group. It's horrible what staff is doing to those who care about the site.

Unfortunately, my experience with this site has deteriorated since Lilian was allowed to ignite the flame. Now, another Lily is allowed to be a mod member who is openly phobic and against so many things. It seems like if you don't kiss the right [censored], you can't actually do your job and make a difference. I've watched two people be harassed to the point of almost committing suicide, one of whom is the mod member that was discarded so carelessly (and who is currently fighting COVID). They have even received death threats on other media from someone's group, but that seems to be okay. HEX is just a big game of he said/she said bull$#*!. It's said that only one person (who is banned from the site) was the harassing party, but others are taking the rap for him. I'm glad I'm just watching from the sidelines of it all. I can't imagine what staff would do to me as a regular user if they're willing to toss their own away.

HEXRPG Mixed feelings: Fun Harry Potter site, but staff is a dictatorship

I gotta say, I gave this site two stars instead of one because it's pretty darn fun. You can earn galleons and collect items from the Harry Potter universe, which is pretty cool. Plus, there are tons of fun people to talk to, contests to participate in, and events that happen throughout the year. And let's not forget about the HP classes you can take, like "Defense Against the Dark Arts" and "Herbology". You even get sorted into a house via a fun sorting quiz! It's all pretty exciting.

But, I gotta be real with you, the staff and mods on this site are a bit of a downer. They act like total dictators, which is a real shame. If you don't agree with them, they'll find a way to shut you down. And they make some pretty poor decisions, too. One of the staff members is constantly using foul language and being rude to anyone who doesn't share their views. It's pretty unbelievable that they even let someone like that be on the staff. And the hypocrisy is off the charts. If someone bullies you, but they agree with the staff's views, they get a pass. But if you criticize their views in a respectful way, they'll accuse you of bullying and try to silence you. It's pretty messed up.

And don't even get me started on their whole "Acceptance and celebrating diversity" thing. They only accept you if you agree with them. If not, you're in for a rough time. This site is basically a dictatorship. But hey, if you still want to join, just know that the staff is pretty incompetent and will try to crush you if you don't share their views. Not all the staff members are bad, though. There are some good ones. But unfortunately, the ones who hold the most power are the ones who are the most hypocritical and rude. So if you do decide to join, be careful and try to have fun despite the staff. They're not gonna make it easy for you.

HEXRPG HEXRPG Review: Biased Staff and Unempathetic Users Promote Hate Speech and Homophobia

I gotta say, HEXRPG is not the best place to be if you're looking for a fair and unbiased community. The staffs there are just plain unfair and biased, and they don't seem to care about standing up for what's right. It's like they're living in their own little bubble, completely oblivious to the fact that JKR's transphobic tweets have hurt millions of fans.

And it's not just the staffs, either. Some of the users on the site are just downright mean and unempathetic. They spew their transphobia and hate speech all over the place, and the staffs do nothing about it. They just sit there and make sugar-coated posts, pretending like they're doing something about it when they're really not.

But what really gets me is how the staffs treat the users who stand up for equal rights. They warn them and ban them for "bullying" and "hate speech", even though all they're doing is standing up against the transphobic people who are being disrespectful to trans+ folks. It's like the staffs don't want anyone to speak out against hate speech and homophobia, but they're perfectly fine with allowing it as long as it doesn't include a word on their "list of banned words".

And don't even get me started on the whole "public shaming" thing. Apparently, if you try to respectfully encourage someone to open up their mind and see why their "views" are wrong, you're guilty of "public shaming". It's like the staffs are trying to silence anyone who speaks out against hate speech and homophobia.

In short, if you're looking for a fair and unbiased community, HEXRPG is not the place to be. The staffs are biased and unfair, and they don't seem to care about standing up for what's right. If you want to speak out against hate speech and homophobia, you're better off finding a different community.

HEXRPG HEXRPG Review: Disappointing Attitudes Towards Bigotry and Poor Communication Skills

I gotta say, I was really hoping that HEXRPG would get their act together after all the drama that's been going on for the past year or so, but it looks like they're still struggling. The biggest issue I have with the site now is the rampant racism, homophobia, and transphobia that's been called out by other reviewers before me. It's really disappointing to see moderators turning a blind eye to this kind of hate speech just because they don't personally see it as an attack on minorities. And if you try to report the people who are actually making these hateful comments, you get accused of "ganging up" on them and threatened with punishment. It's like, what's the point of having a report feature if it's not going to be used to protect users from harassment and discrimination?

To make matters worse, there's been a troll running around making fake accounts and causing chaos on the site. They've been banned before, but they keep coming back with new usernames and spamming everyone with nonsense. And now they've even made a threat against the website itself. Now, I'm not saying that this troll is actually going to do anything, but any responsible organization would take a threat like this seriously and take steps to protect their users. But instead of being transparent and communicating with us about what's going on, the staff has been really vague and unhelpful. When I asked for an executive statement about the potential cyber threat, they basically told me to just use the report button if I see anything suspicious. Like, come on, that's not a real solution. We need to know what's going on and what steps are being taken to keep us safe.

It's really frustrating because I used to love HEXRPG. The community is usually really friendly and welcoming, and the site itself is super addictive. But lately, I've lost a lot of trust in the staff because of their outdated attitudes towards bigotry and their poor communication skills. I hate to give them a one-star rating, but I just can't ignore these issues.

HEXRPG HEXRPG Review: Fun Game, Toxic Community, and Abusive Mods

I gotta say, I've been playing HEXRPG for a while now and while it's a pretty cool game, there are definitely some issues that need to be addressed. For one thing, the community can be pretty toxic at times. If you have an unpopular opinion or voice a complaint, you're likely to get targeted by other players or even the mods themselves. And let me tell you, some of those mods can be downright rude and abusive. I've had a few run-ins with them myself and it's not a pleasant experience.

That being said, there are some mods who are actually pretty cool and treat players like human beings. Unfortunately, they're few and far between and often get lumped in with the rest of the staff. And don't even get me started on the multiple account thing. If you're on a VPN that shares an IP with another player, you're pretty much screwed. Even if you explain that it's just a family member playing, you still might get banned.

But despite all of that, I still enjoy playing HEXRPG. It's a fun game and there are some really cool features. However, if you're thinking about joining, just be aware that the community can be pretty toxic and the mods aren't always the nicest. If you can handle that, then go for it. But if not, you might want to look elsewhere.
