I purchased a 2005 Dodge Stratus from Hallum Motors in Marion Ar 8/05. The car had 6732 miles, and I was told it has the "balance" of the factory warranty. I was told this by the owner and salesperson Kent Hallum, I was also told the car had been hit in the right front quarter panel while on the lot and had to be fixed. 3 days after buying the car I took it to Fletcher Dodge in Jonesboro Ar to find that it was not under warranty due to being in a "VERY SEVERE ACCIDENT" The car has major structural damage to the roof and leaks water when it rains, it also has MAJOR frame damage, and can not be fixed. It goes through a set of new tires ever 12wks, and has major problem, the Arkansas Attorney General office determined that Mr Hallum does use deceptive trade practices, and currently I am suing him, BUYER BEWARE OF THIS CROOK! He will not keep his word, nor stand by his cars, he lies and will decive you any way he can to get your money. This car was a salavage car that came out of LA, and had $7800.00 worth of damage per the insurance company report. (I have copies will send if you want to see)! DONT BUY ! I am left owing 21K on a car that is not drivable and unsafe! Mr. Hallum wants more money to get me out of it, what a crook

I can believe sara you would defend your dad, he pays all your bills, but to post such a lie on the internet just sad. I have copies of notarized documents signed by Kent Hallum, stating he was fully aware he purchased the car with body and frame damage... hmmm... where did i get these you ask, Arkansas AG office. They also got copies from national rental /vanguard leasing showing the car had almost 8K worth of visible damage after the wreck 5/05. I also have lots of documents proving that the car was salvage, and I will get justice one way or another.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I am shocked and appalled to discover the complaint posted on here by Betsy Lee against Hallum Motors. The fact that Ms. Lee degraded my father by calling him a crook, after only telling her side of the story seems not only unfair, but slanderous as well. Betsy was an employee at my brother's EMT company, and so as a favor, my father tried to help her get a new car because the one that she owned at the time wasn't working, but Betsy was already upside down in her car (meaning she owed more than the car was worth), therefore, the only car that she could get with her situation was one that had a salvage title, and she purchased the car FULLY AWARE of it's previous damage, which had been fixed before she bought it. Even after purchasing the car, my father would try to help her any time that she complained that something was wrong with the car, even though he had NO obligation to do so. My father was simply trying to help a woman who had gotten herself in a bad situation, and now she is putting his reputation on the line. For those of you who probably think that since he is my father I'm just taking his side, however, if you want to see for yourself, just go to Ebay, do a Seller search for the username "Hallummotors" and you will see for yourself the exceptionally positive feedback he has received from hundreds of other customers who found that he was a completely fair and honest salesman, just like I know he is!
I wholeheartedly agree with Betsy's complaint having talked with her and having myself also been ripped off by Mr. Hallum. When I got home (over 600 mile drive) after buying my car from Hallum Motors on eBay, I discovered that my new car had been involved on a severe accident and had been sloppily repaired and repainted. Mr. Hallum described and sold the car to me as being accident-free, original paint, clear title, etc. Of course, I immediately did some research and found that Mr. Hallum has a long history of screwing people like this just to make a buck. I created a webpage, www.screwedbyhallummotors.com to draw attention to this fact so hopefully others won't fall victim to his lies. Mr. Hallum's daughter, Sara, points out that on eBay, hallummotors (their eBay member name) has "exceptional positive feedback from hundreds of customers", making the argument that Betsy's complaint is an isolated incident and should not be considered. Poor Sara sounds blissfully ignorant. I'm here to tell everyone that if you go back and look at all the feedback that hallummotors has received on eBay, you will discover that there are many, many negative feedbacks which have been removed by Mr. Hallum through his involvement with eBay and squaretrade.com, a third party mediating group. Look into this. All those negative feedbacks from people he screwed over the past several years are VALID. They have been shortchanged because they were only being honest about their horrible experience with hallummotors but eBay and squaretrade are protecting this crook because presumably, they want his business. You know what they say: Follow the money. If all the negative feedback left for hallummotors was still calculated into their score, hallummotors feedback score would stink. Mr. Hallum is a crook of the first order and I have no qualms saying that. He screwed me and countless others. If you're researching Hallum Motors because you're considering buying or bidding on a car there, please go to www.screwedbyhallummotors.com first. It could save you lots of money and heartache.
