It's been a long story with Haleakala Solar & Roofing, starting from when we contacted them 7 years ago. The whole process of buying, installing, and using our solar/battery system has been a struggle. Despite addressing a previous complaint, we still faced issues with their sales approach. Our system has never functioned properly, and we've had to call them multiple times to fix problems. Recently, our system has been out of order for 6 months, and we haven't heard anything from the team. I have to reach out to them every month to ask for updates, and their responses range from "We're discussing it internally" to "We're working with the manufacturer" to "Your product is bad." It's frustrating because I'm the one paying for it every month, and I worry that they're just waiting for the warranty to expire in a few years. Maybe it will never work. They've always been nice, but their lack of action and communication is incredibly frustrating. I have 20 solar panels on my roof, but only 5 are functioning. It's a mess. I need a Christmas miracle.

I'm not happy with Haleakala Solar & Roofing. They didn't even try to service my Tesla battery and system. This has been a big problem for me because I'm losing over $100 every month in energy that could have been used by me but instead gets exported to the grid. It's a waste of money and I'm not satisfied.

3 months ago, I paid $27,000 to Haleakala Solar & Roofing for solar batteries. However, they haven't been responding to my inquiries regarding the delay. They keep saying it's the city's fault, but I haven't received any documentation or a courtesy response. I just want my money back or for them to fix the system.

So, I've got a few problems with my pv panels, and they're still under warranty. I've been trying to reach out to Haleakala Solar & Roofing, but man, it's been tough. I've called their service number a bunch of times, but no one's picking up. I've left my phone number multiple times, but still no response. I even went to their office in person, and all they said was that they'll get back to me. But it's been a whole month, and I haven't heard a peep from them. Seriously, what's the deal?

Haleakala Solar came to check my service in May. They took my battery because it's still under warranty and wasn't working. I've called several times and they seem nice, but I'm told there are no boxes to send my battery back. I haven't had any solar for over 3 months. I'm on a fixed income, my power bills are $500 a month now. Please, I need help with resolution.

My solar electrical panels are defektive. I contacted Haleakala in October . They rarely returned calls and finally had three different crews take voltage readings and send them to *** in June 2022. *** approved a credit to replace all of my 55 panels on July 21, 2022. Haleakala has not returned any of my calls to get the panels replaced. *** has stated they only deal with the installer and not the homeowner. My electric bill is over $500 per month. I am requesting that they replace the panels with the same output and warranty. I have attached a copy of the log I have been keeping. I am happy to discuss. Thanks, Kit.

I bought a house with solar panels more than a year ago. This company installed the panels, and they're still under warranty. Once I took ownership of the panels, I checked the solar production and realized it was way lower than expected. They said I needed a new Envoy to fix the issue, and they promised to order and install it. But since then, I haven't heard from them at all, and they never return my calls. It's been over a year, and I'm still waiting. Meanwhile, my electricity bills are higher than they should be if the solar panel system was working properly. I can't get anyone to respond to my calls. Can someone please help me out?

Last spring I ordered more solar panels from Haleakala and they told me I gotta get a Tesla battery too. When they put in the panels, they said there's a 6 week delay for the Tesla battery. It's been like 5 months now and they keep putting me off and not giving me the battery. This weekend I heard on the news and from a buddy that *** is going out of business. I just want the Tesla battery installed so I can get the system checked and running this year. I need them tax credits to pay off the loan. If that ain't possible, I want my contract canceled without any cost to me.

As of today, still no contact! My PV system was installed by Haleakala Solar on 12/29. I've made many calls and left voicemails on: 10/31/22, 11/02/22, 11/03/2022, 11/7/2022 asking for service for my PV system installed by Haleakala Solar. I tried reaching out through their website on 11/10/22 (see attached images), but no luck. According to the Enphase diagnostic reports I found by logging into my account, at least one panel needs repair or maintenance. So far, I haven't received any response to my voice and email messages. If they can't fix my unit, please let me know, and I'll find another company to take care of it. I'll transfer my account to the new vendor for servicing.

12/17 20*** I had Haleakala Solar install 20 PV panels. It came with a 25-year warranty on the solar *** inverters. On 2/22, the micro inverter on panel #*** got replaced. On 5/26, the micro inverter on panel #*** got replaced, and the installer ended up cracking the panel. On 6//2021, the cracked panel got replaced. On 6/23, panel #6 got inspected because of a low reading. On 10//2021, the micro inverters on panels *** got replaced. Since then, I've been having low readings on 2 other panels and have been trying to have them come out to inspect what the problem is. I have been very patient with their response in the past and also their time to address my issues. For the past 6 months, they have not returned my calls, even when I do get to speak to someone.

Haleakala Solar came to our house, as we asked, to check a leak in our solar hot water heater (we bought it from them and they installed it) on April 29, 2022. The technician said we needed a new water heater and that they would order it. He also mentioned that it was still under warranty. Their office called us on the same day and confirmed that it was still covered. They weren't sure if it was in stock or if they had to order it. They said they would call us back in a few days to let us know. Since then, we haven't heard anything from them. I've called them multiple times during business hours, but I always get voicemail. I've left detailed messages with my phone number, but they haven't gotten back to me.

I contacted Haleakala Solar in late Sept 2021 cuz my enphase stopped working and couldn't send my monthly report. They told me to try re-entering my internet info, but it still didn't work. I called again and they said they'd send a service person. But nobody showed up or called me. I later tried going to their office, but it was closed. Recently, on August 15th 2022, I tried contacting them again. Left a message on their service line on August 22nd. No response. So I called the sales line and explained what happened. They said they'd contact the service department. Still no response. Called again on August 26th and talked to ***. Then *** called me and came to the house. He said they'd get the system back up and running. A service person came on September 1 and said they'd order the part and come back to install it. But on Sept. 2nd, they told me my warranty expired and it wouldn't be covered. I told them I contacted them a year ago and they never fixed it. They told their manager, who said they wouldn't cover the part. I asked to speak to the manager, but they wouldn't let me. They said they'd talk to someone higher up, but I still haven't heard back.

Approximately September , I reached out to a guy named *** at Haleakala about my batteries not charging on my Solar power system. Our electric *** went way up in August , so I checked out our system. I found out that two of my batteries were offline and one wasn't charging. I turned the two back on and power cycled the one that wasn't charging. After turning the two back on, I noticed they still weren't charging. When I talked to ***, he said there are known issues with the *** batteries. Unfortunately, because of supply chain problems, he said they (Haleakala) can't replace them right away. I was okay with that answer. But it's been almost a year, and we're still stuck. We've been paying for two systems (our solar power system and HECO - our electric ***). To make things worse, I haven't heard anything from Haleakala. I called the service department today and left a voicemail. I also called the sales department. I talked to a sales rep and asked them to replace our batteries. I was a bit annoyed when I called, so I started asking questions about the request. The call mysteriously ended. I called back a few minutes later and the same sales rep said she couldn't hear me anymore (after taking all my contact info) and hung up. I wondered, "why didn't you call back?" I didn't ask because I just wanted my system fixed so we can move on. Can the ComplaintsBoard.com help us and solve this problem? I think Haleakala should replace all four batteries (not just the three with issues, especially since all of them have problems) and refund the payments we made to the bank for a system that's not working right.
