Warning: Gumtree Took My Money and Deleted My Ad Without Explanation!
I've been using Gumtree for a long time to buy and sell stuff. Recently, I decided to pay extra to have my product highlighted and appear at the top of the search results. But guess what? They took my money and deleted my ad without even bothering to explain why. I tried reaching out to them multiple times, but they didn't have the courtesy to contact me back and clarify why my account was restricted. I'm really angry about this and I've made up my mind to switch to another website for buying and selling. I want to warn everyone out there to be careful and not waste their money by paying for ads on Gumtree. They might just take your money and delete your ad without any explanation.
Gumtree.com.au: A Decent Website for Buying and Selling in Australia
Gumtree.com.au is a pretty decent website for Aussies who want to sell or buy stuff. I usually give it a look-see once a week to find people selling things at a reasonable price in my neck of the woods. And I gotta say, about 90% of the things I've bought from there have turned out pretty good.
Now, when it comes to selling, you might come across a few tire kickers. You know, those folks who are just wasting your time and not serious about buying. And let me tell you, it can get pretty annoying when you start getting messages from other users who aren't really interested in buying either. It's like, why bother, right?
But hey, when it comes to buying, I've only had a couple of issues. Sometimes the seller changes their mind and decides not to sell anymore. Or maybe they get a better offer from someone else. It's a bummer, but it happens. Apart from those hiccups, I'd say Gumtree is a great place to give a shot. You never know, you might just score yourself a sweet deal or two.
So yeah, if you're in the market for some second-hand goodies or looking to make a few bucks by selling your stuff, give Gumtree a whirl. It's worth a shot, mate.
Lack of Communication and Frustration: My Experience with Gumtree's Ad Posting
I recently had a super urgent situation where I needed to post an ad for my boat on Gumtree.com.au. I was relieved when I received a message confirming that my ad would be active within a few hours. However, that's where the communication ended. I didn't hear anything else from Gumtree, and unfortunately, I discovered much later that my ad was never actually posted.
Now, here's the kicker: I posted the ad from overseas, but the boat and the contact were both in Australia. You would think that Gumtree could at least send an automated message to let me know that there was a problem. It's not rocket science, right? I mean, come on, guys! It's frustrating that they couldn't make the effort to inform me about the issue and give me a chance to make alternative arrangements.
It's disappointing when a platform like Gumtree, which is supposed to make our lives easier, falls short in such a basic aspect. I understand that mistakes happen, but a little bit of communication goes a long way. It would have saved me a lot of time and hassle if they had just let me know that my ad couldn't be posted due to my location.
In the end, I had to find another way to advertise my boat, which was a major inconvenience. I hope Gumtree can improve their system and provide better communication to their users, especially in urgent situations like mine. It's the least they can do to ensure a smoother experience for everyone involved.

Terrible Experience with Gumtree: Unfair Treatment and Lack of Consequences for Scammers
I recently had a look on Gumtree to find a removalist. I came across this guy who claimed to be a family business and had been doing this for 15 years. But let me tell you, he was the worst removalist I've ever dealt with. His name was Mike and he operated in the Penrith and Castle Hill areas.
I decided to write a review about my terrible experience and even tried to advertise his awful removal service on Gumtree. But guess what? They quickly took down my ad. I couldn't believe it! I wrote back to them, expressing my frustration and asking where the justice was. This guy was a total rip-off artist, and it seemed like Gumtree didn't care at all. They just let these scammers get away with ripping off innocent people without any consequences.
I gotta say, I really hate Gumtree now. It's just not fair that they allow these bums to take advantage of unsuspecting folks like me. It's a shame, really. I thought Gumtree was a reliable platform, but now I know better. I won't be using it again, that's for sure.

Gumtree's Support and Ad Placement: A Frustrating Experience for Small Businesses
We've been trying to kickstart our business selling LED lights and high-tech battery packs, mate. It's been a few months now since we chucked an ad up on Gumtree (GT) offering to give away one of our top-notch LED lamps, valued at a solid $19.95. But let me tell ya, finding our ad in the midst of all them dodgy scammers is like searching for a needle in a haystack, I reckon. And when we reached out to their so-called "support," all we got was a canned response telling us to cough up some cash for an ad. Fair dinkum, they want us to pay 'em just to give away a lamp that runs on thin air, mate! It don't use a lick of electricity (well, maybe 'round 2 cents every 24 hours, but who's counting?). Are they havin' a laugh or what? From where I'm sittin', it seems like GT is all about funneling ads straight to eBay, if ya ask me.
Gumtree's Mislabeling Issue: Items Marked as FREE Without Consent
I've been sellin' stuff on Gumtree for over 4 years now, and I gotta say, I've had pretty good luck sellin' things regularly. Sometimes though, when my items ain't sellin' as fast as I'd like 'em to, I've paid some money to bump 'em up and make 'em stand out. It's been workin' fine for me, until yesterday that is. Outta nowhere, Gumtree goes ahead and marks one of my items as FREE! Can ya believe it? And that ain't all, a few months back, they even marked my home as FREE without me knowin'! Can ya imagine the confusion that caused? People were hittin' me up left and right, thinkin' I was givin' away my house or somethin'. And just yesterday, they did it again with a brand new GUESS handbag I was tryin' to sell. They marked it as FREE! What the actual heck is goin' on here? I ain't never given away nothin' for free on Gumtree, and if ya wanna do that, ya gotta tick the free box. But I sure as heck didn't do that!
Frustrating Experience with Gumtree: Lack of Explanation for Cancelled Ads
I recently had an experience with Gumtree.com.au where I attempted to post two ads. However, to my disappointment, both of them were abruptly cancelled without any sort of explanation. It was quite frustrating as I was left wondering what went wrong and had to come up with various possibilities on my own.
I have a suggestion for the Gumtree IT team: why not utilize auto correct to generate a standard response to the email associated with the account? This way, users like me would at least have some understanding as to why our ads were cancelled. But hey, I understand that customer service might not be your top priority. It seems like you'd rather spend your time texting friends instead of actually fulfilling your job responsibilities. I guess that's just the way things are, right?
Buyer Beware: Risky Gumtree Purchase - Broken Strobe, No Refund, No Warning, No PayPal Protection
I gotta tell ya, I had no idea how risky it could be to buy stuff on Gumtree. Seriously, never again. So get this, I shelled out a whopping $400, plus the cost of postage, for an Elinchrom Strobe that was supposed to be in excellent condition. But guess what? The darn locking ring was busted and the strobe doesn't even work right. And you know what the seller said? It must've happened during shipping, tough luck for me. Can you believe that? They won't take it back or give me a replacement. And here's the real kicker, when you go through Gumtree, you're basically outta luck. You can't even warn other folks about this shady seller. They can be as dishonest as they please, and Gumtree won't do a thing about it. And get this, Gumtree doesn't even offer PayPal protection. So basically, it's like playing a pricey game of chance. You might get lucky, or you might end up with a dud. Consider yourself warned, folks.
Beware of Scammers on Gumtree: Fake Westpac Documents and Threats
A person on Gumtree may try to deceive you by sending fake Westpac documents. They will claim that the money has been transferred to your account and ask you to release the funds. However, they will also ask you to pay a $2000 agent's fee in order to collect the items. Be cautious, as you may receive a fake bank statement from Westpac stating that the payment is on hold.
If you express any disagreement, complain, or tell them to go away, they may threaten to call the police or disconnect the conversation. It is important to note that this individual may file a complaint about you to Gumtree in an attempt to cover up their scam. They may even go as far as lying to Gumtree in order to disconnect you from the platform.
Please exercise caution when dealing with such individuals on Gumtree. It is always advisable to verify the authenticity of any documents or transactions before proceeding.
Gumtree: A Troublesome Platform for Swindling and Deception
It's common knowledge that Evilbay, or as it's now known, Gumtree, has a distinct lack of folks over the age of 25 on their team. Ever since it got snatched up for a hefty sum of at least $40 million back in May 2005, it's been nothing but trouble. Just like that whole Bill Cosby mess, there's an overwhelming number of complaints about Evilbay using the Gumtree platform to swindle hard-earned cash from unsuspecting people. They have no qualms about canceling ads without giving a single penny back, and if that wasn't enough, they'll even terminate your account without a refund. It's hard to deny the truth when there's so much evidence pointing in that direction.
Let me tell you, this branch of Evilbay won't be around for much longer. By the time 2020 rolls around, it'll be as obsolete as Oztion. Evilbay has no problem canceling your Gumtree ads, but they'll turn a blind eye when someone else is selling the exact same thing. It's crystal clear that they only bought this site to drive more traffic to their precious Evilbay platform. It's a sneaky move, no doubt about it.
