Growin Estate: A Cautionary Tale for Realtors

I want to share my frustrating experience with Growin Estate, a so-called real estate lead generation company, and why I strongly advise avoiding them. If you’re a realtor in Canada or the U.S., you’ve probably been pitched by these companies claiming they’ll deliver top-notch buyer and seller leads in exchange for a referral fee. That’s how Growin Estate hooked me—but the reality was far from what they promised.

The Initial Pitch It all started with a cold call. The sales rep came across as professional, claiming their leads were carefully vetted and ready to convert. They even threw in perks like "live call transfers" to make it seem like a foolproof way to close deals. I was told that by signing up for their “Standard” $599/year package, I’d get 4-5 high-quality, verified leads each month, in the specific areas I work. They promised that if I wasn’t satisfied, I’d get a full refund—no questions asked. Based on these assurances, I decided to give it a shot.

The Reality: Subpar Leads Once I signed up, everything changed. In five months, I received a total of 10 leads. Most of them were completely unqualified. Some leads didn’t fit the areas I specified, while others were unreachable. The ones I could connect with didn’t seem serious about buying or selling, despite Growin Estate’s claims that the leads had been pre-screened and verified by their team. Their so-called “live call transfers”? I never received a single one.

The Refund Runaround By the second month, I knew I wasn’t getting what I’d paid for. I requested a refund, following their 60-day notice policy. What happened next was a nightmare. I emailed multiple times, and each time, I was given the same excuses. They wanted to “talk things over” on the phone, which just meant stalling and offering me more low-quality leads. When I pushed harder, they told me my refund request was being reviewed by their “Compliance Department.” Weeks turned into months, and despite all their promises, I never got my money back.

Their refund policy is a bait-and-switch. Even if you follow their procedures, they’ll find a way to deny your request. In my case, they claimed that simply speaking to one lead voided my refund, even though none of the leads were viable.

Fake Reviews and a Shady Reputation When I looked deeper, I noticed they had glowing reviews on platforms like Trustpilot. But when you read between the lines, it’s obvious many of these reviews are fake. The real reviews—1-star ratings from people with experiences like mine—tell the truth about their deceptive practices and poor service.

The Lesson Learned Growin Estate is not what they claim to be. They take your money, deliver subpar leads, and make it nearly impossible to get a refund. I learned the hard way that their business model is designed to exploit agents looking for quality lead generation. Don’t fall into the same trap. If you’re considering working with a lead generation company, stick with those that only charge a referral fee when you close a deal—at least then, they have some skin in the game. ** Lookup my post on Medium.com for more detailed information and screenshots of emails.

Claimed loss: 698.78

Desired outcome: Desired income previously requested as a refund, now I'm unsure what would make me take this off this page.
