This school is a ponzi scheme run as a minority owned business by a husband and wife team from Haiti. They previously ran a Nurses Aid Training School in Lawrence, MA, but were thrown out of Massachusetts. After being forced to close they somehow were able to get approval to open a Licensed Practical Nursing Program through the NH Board of Nursing. This is a very shady outfit. They basically take advantage of vulnerable people from other countries by making all kinds of promises. They force people to pay the total tuition up front, and if they fail they do not get any money back. So they take anyone regardless of what they claim to do from an Admissions standpoint. Some of these people cannot speak English. The majority are from Haiti, and some are from Africa. The owners live high on the hog as they tell the students to find money by borrowing it and refinancing their old cars. It is all about money for them, not about the quality of education. The NCLEX scores are sub par and have been throughout most of the time this school has existed, so they are tough on teaching to pass the NCLEX from day one. Never mind learning the Fundamentals. Bringing up the test scores is management’s priority because if the graduates cannot pass, people will not go there and even worse the Board of Nursing will not allow the program to continue. This would mean that the owners would no longer have a cash cow. The owners invest nothing back into the business, they just take it out and spend it living lavishly and who knows where they have hidden money. In the meantime the students don't get books on time, have to put up with teachers quitting because of the treatment they receive from this rude arrogant President/Owner, and sit in hot non air conditioned rooms with cockroaches. The place is a dump. They also change the help out every few months which probably means once they catch on to the scam they start to know too much, so it's time to say bye. They fire people for no reason at all, or make up reasons to terminate them so they don't have to pay unemployment. The owners love cash, and bank checks and money orders that are not filled out. They are so greedy that they constantly up the costs by adding on parking (which is obviously free), library (a joke), and have even started collecting escalating graduation fees at the time of entrance. This way they can keep the money if someone fails, and some classes are so peeved by the time they are ready to graduate, that they don’t want to participate. They will accept two courses that can be transferred into the program, but they still charge you full tuition for the classes. The graduation is a scam as they use a free church and don’t provide so much as a bottle of water to anyone. No refreshments or food. While there are some good teachers, they end up getting burned or tired of the owner’s BS and quit. This entire business is about making money, not making nurses. The Ferdinand’s would sell their parents and kids to make a buck. Hopefully the NH Board of Nursing will shut them down before they take advantage of any more students. So many people flunk out or cheat their way through (huge problem), and these unethical owners cash in on people’s misery. Many of the students are new to the US and not even citizens. They work low wage aide jobs and the owner is right there with his hand out. From the time you walk in the building, the owner starts working you like a Timeshare Agent. He will tell you it’s the last available spot and to get the money to him immediately if you want it. He, his wife and the Program Director can barely keep a LPN Program going, but they will lie and fill up your head with ideas to shut you up such as that they will be starting an RN Program. You have to be kidding; they invest nothing in this school. Barely a poster on the walls and the skeleton and torso in A&P are ancient. The clinical lab rooms have old junky hospital beds and equipment. With such a high percentage of students admitted just so the owners can get their full tuition up front, they are not star performers at clinical sites, so they cannot maintain any decent places for students to obtain experience and clinical hours. Every time they get a good site they lose it. In fact sometimes students have to find their own clinicals. They tell you coming in about all the wonderful places you’ll be going, and it’s a sham. The owners should be arrested for fraud and for taking student’s money and using it for their own rock star lifestyle. Nothing would please the students more than seeing management serve jail time because they deserve it. Hopefully they won’t flee the country before the NH Government gets them into court. Stay the hell away from FCTI!

If anyone is looking for Jean Robert Ferdinand and Magalie Icart Ferdinand you can find them at 2453 Bloods Grove Circle in Delray Beach, Florida. They live in a dumpy condo compared to the mini manse that foreclosed in Windham, NH. It is truly unbelievable that Maggie was issued a LPN license in the state of Florida using a combination of her maiden and married name unlike her Mass license. No doubt they are up to some new scam preying on innocent minority victims. They can't use their names so they are probably exploiting their kids or family.

I taught here for two years when it first opened. I had some really good smart students and some students that did not belong there plain and simple. A blind person could see that they were never going to pass nursing boards. Bob and Maggie were ridiculous as owners and they routinely denigrated and disrespected the students. Us teachers only got a little more respect and they certainly did not pay us well for our efforts. I have to say as much as I enjoyed most of my students and tried to enrich their education and teach as much as I could, I grew to really dislike the way the school was run. As someone who started as an LPN then became an RN then to get my masters I was VERY offended when told that I have to pass people who CHEAT in my class. It's almost as if the school was setup to make money for a small amount of time only and they really had no intention of actually becoming a good school of nursing.

I registered myself for lpn classes during this fall.When I went to my first day of the classe I found that: NO CLASSES.The school it was closed. No anyone never call me to explaint what happened.I had Maggie email.I been send few emails and no answer.No money back.No classes.I quilt my job because my school schedule.I really want see them in jail.People who take money from another should be punished.
OMG you are kinda mean GottaKnow but you are right about the owners. They hurt alot of people and need to be held accountable for stealing from students. I am a single Mom and had to take a semester off and Maggie Ferdinand wanted another $5000 from me before I could return to class. Bad enough I had to fight with her husband the president Bob because he wanted me to pay all my tuition up front and in cash which I refused to do. The teachers are all excellent and they have also been hurt. These two have not only hurt the students and teachers but they have hurt entire families and the future of people. All any of us want is to become nurses. Bob Ferdinand went on TV and said he would reimburse tuition but the teachers have not even gotten paid and I can't get my transcripts so I don't understand how he can lie and say he will pay us back. First off The Love Fist, where did you learn how to spell? If you are a nurse I hope you never administer meds to me. Nobody is jealous of anybody here. This school is a sham with an owner that only cares about money. There are many great students at FCTI of all races and from diverse cultures, and they will make great nurses. And some of the grads have become fine nurses, but statistically speaking the number of students who pass the boards is low and those that find great jobs are even lower. By the way, great nurses aren't of one particular race or skin color. It takes someone special to me a nurse.
Now that we have that settled, you are right to a small degree. But the money hungry president of FCTI started getting greedier and more lenient in who he admitted to the FCTI LPN program. Basically if you showed up with $16k+ you were in. Students did not even complete the required essay and pass the TEAS test which is supposed to be completed before being admitted, a process by the way that other area LPN schools follow. Some students were still trying to pass the TEAS in the 2nd semester, and when they didn't staff just looked the other way. You cannot tell me these people in class who can barely answer a question when asked can pass a reading or reasoning test or write an essay. They could not understand what the teacher was asking of them, so how could they be a competent nurse?
So, if you think there are a bunch of haters and failures out here who are jealous, ooops I mean jealouse of minority students take your race card and shove it. Stop pitying yourselves because that is exactly why a [censored] like Bob Ferdinand has been able to take advantage of preying on you people. Wake up. Sure, there are some successes, but when the NH BON shuts them down for low test scores and the talking heads at FCTI blame the minority students and not themselves, maybe it's time for you to reconsider what you've said. Minority, white, purple or yellow-who cares? That is not at all what this is about.
If you are an FCTI grad then you have proven exactly what part of the problem is.
1) You cannot read
2) You cannot write
3) You cannot spell
4) You cannot comprehend
So The Love Fist, why don’t you watch this video of a story run by the NH Station WMUR and tell us if you think that the talking head Barbara and the goon president are haters? After all they are blaming the minority students for the school’s problems.

I totally disagree with you guys, there are so many nurses out there who are working on their licenses and they graduated from FCTI. I think you guys all haters, failures, and jealouse of minority peolpe who are trying to make a diffenrence and help others.
School is still open, just the LPN course has been shut down. If they choose to teach other courses they may.
Praise The Lord! The NH Board of Nursing shut down the LPN Program at First Choice Training Institute.
The owners are blaming everyone but themselves for their cash cow ending and planned to open another scam school down south. Maybe they will be in jail soon so that will not happen. Bob Ferdinand is an irrational and greedy Haitian man who constantly threatens people. He and his wife need to spend some time in a federal prison for stealing and tax evasion as well as assault on the teachers and student body.
