Eugene YMCA review: Discrimination against a transgender person

I registered my child to play basketball at the YMCA in Eugene Oregon. But they did not have a coach. So I volunteered my time to be the coach. The YMCA was very disorganized with their time and their schedules

For the first practice I arrived at the school and I asked the person who is supposed to be in charge of the practices if I needed a key to get in the school and he said no the school will be open and it was not. I tried to call the person that was in charge of the practices but he did not answer his phone. So I found a custodian to let us in the school. And the custodian told me that there we were not any allowed practices on Wednesdays at the school.

When we finally got into the school there was a parent with his child and he said the YMCA wanted him to coach the team but he said he just wanted to be a spectator and then he presumed to take over the practice and I finally got a phone call from the person who was supposed to be in charge of the practice and I told him about the man who took over my practice. He called the man the next day and The man who took over my practice got really upset about what I said. And when I talk to the YMCA worker who was in charge of the practices and he made a point to say that the man who decided to take over my practice made a comment that there was a girl on the team.

And that was my child and as you know there is a problem in this country of transgender people participating in sports.

And after that happened the YMCA no longer let me coach the team. So I really appreciate your support in this matter it’s not for me for my child
