On our last trip to Cancun I was talked into a presentation at the Krystal Cancun resort in exchange for a free spa day. I must have forgotten that I was in Mexico and should have just said no but I thought what could it hurt right? Trust me when I say that you should absolutely stay away from these scam artists. Don’t be fooled by the free breakfast and the fancy professional looking setup they have upstairs at this resort! We were told that if we bought 13 weeks at this resort that we would get $1500 per week back from the rental of those weeks which would cover the total expenses of the initial costs and maintenance fees. We were also told we would get a free 3 night cruise and a free week at the Krystal Cancun in 2024 as a bonus. We were also told that for $499 per week we could stay almost anywhere with a possible additional fee of $60 per person per day if we wanted to make it all inclusive. We were shown airfare examples that were serious discounts so it all made perfect sense. So here’s the issues.

1. There is no free cruise.

2. There are no serious airfare discounts as I have compared them to the airlines’ website and they are the same.

3. The $499 per week deal is only on certain hotels in places you mostly don’t want to go.

4. By the time you realize you’ve been lied to it’s too late to cancel because they make sure to take 45 days to get you access to the website so you can’t find out the actual truth. In Mexico you have 10 days to cancel the contract and 39 days to cancel if you’re a Florida resident. However they make sure you don’t have anything but their word and a contract that looks real but is basically fraudulent for 45 days after signing so you can’t cancel.

Do not be taken in by the fake nice demeanor of Miguel and Jose! Simply run in the other direction!

Claimed loss: $7200

Desired outcome: Of course it would be nice to cancel this fraudulent contract and get a full refund.

Were you able to sell your weeks back to GTS?
