I recently had a breast augmentation. at my consult, the surgeon did not believe a lift was needed (although I did) and he thought I could "get away" with just adding a slightly larger implant size. Surgery was performed, during post op I immediately noticed my nipple was drooping at the end of the implant (which now sat at the top of my chest) The Doctor told me not to worry and to allow approximately three months for the implants to fully settle. during my follow up visit my nipples had not improved but further drooped. Doctor said he could easily fix the droopy skin with a noninvasive in-house lift done with topical numbing. Doctor insured me this procedure was extremely common and advised it would be done at their office and only charge me a surgical fee of $1500. The day arrived for my lift I was extremely nervous as I did not think lifts were a quite easy procedure to have done in a clinic setting. (My breast augmentation was done in at a hospital setting). That day Dr Windle learned that I was not vaccinated, however his office assistant Pam, assured me that was not an issue for today’s procedure. However, upon arrival Dr. Winde seemed extremely agitated and upset at me for not being vaccinated and even raised his voice at me when I told him my reasons behind not wanting to get vaccinated. At that point I was not even interested in having this Dr perform my lift, however, the lift was already discounted, and I was already there (traveling from Wenatchee) so I decided to proceed. I undressed and laid down in the chair. The doctor came in with a large needle and began numbing my breast. The pain was intense. The doctor was not finished numbing my right breast when I told him I could no longer bare the pain and would prefer having the surgery under general anesthesia. The Doctor assured me the worse part was over and he was almost finished numbing the right breast. The worse part was not even close to being over. When the doctor was finished numbing my left breast my heart was beating so fast, my breathing was labored, and I had tears running down my face. As the doctor began cutting into my flesh, I felt the blood pouring down the sides of my back, I could smell the blood and hear the cutting of my flesh. The Doctor called in his secretary to assist in the surgery. (This is the same women who works behind the front desk for scheduling) The Doctor had to use a devise to cauterize wounds and stop the bleeding. all and all the surgery took three hours and had to continually numb me up as the numbing agent continued wearing off and I could feel him slicing into my skin. After the lift was almost complete, the Doctor allowed his secretary/assistant to staple me up while instructing her on how to properly staple. This was done without my permission, and I believe her first time ever performing such task. I am still not clear as to why he had her do the staple part. During that time, she stepped out of the room twice to greet two other patience and then returning continuing to assist, and without washing her hands or changing her gloves. That evening the pain was unbearable. I reached out to the Doctor letting him know I needed a pain medication as I was in dire need. The Doctor called me and told me to go take a hot shower and lift my arms over my head. I was so upset. I took a hot shower, and both my breast bled all over. 10 days post op I developed a nasty infection in my right breast (around the areola) that required medical attention and heavy antibiotics for 10 days. My worry Is the infection developed due to Dr Windles assistant, Pam coming in and out of the operating room without washing her hands or changing her gloves all while continuing to assist Dr Windle. My three-week post op appointment was done through another surgeon in Kirkland who also informed me this procedure should have been performed under general anesthesia and Dr Windle should be reported to the Board of Plastic Surgery. I did reach out to Dr Windle letting him know why I was so upset and to cancel all future appointments associated with Dr Windle and Pam. In addition to everything above I am left with a Permanently disfigured around my right areola that will take a third surgery to repair.
