I was told that Dominion Financial Services could close my loan in 30-45 days, but it ended up taking almost 90 days before I finally gave up and went with another lender. They dragged out the process, probably waiting for rates to go up so they could sell on the secondary market. And they wouldn't even lock in rates for me. When they finally sent the loan documents to be signed, they changed the loan amount and claimed that I requested it, which was a total lie. It would have taken another week to fix the issue, so I fired them as my lender. Don't waste your time with Dominion Financial Services.

Dominion Financial Services gave me an offer for refinancing my 2 properties with a 30-year mortgage. I accepted the offer on 4/23/22 and signed an Interest Rate Lock Agreement. They charged me $875.70 for the rate lock. On 5/17, after the appraisals, they gave me another offer with terms that were not acceptable. They said they couldn't provide a loan on the subject property according to the original offer and terms. This was a failure on their part to do their job properly. It seemed like a Bait-and-Switch scenario. I refused the new offer and asked for a refund of the rate lock and appraisal fees. They returned the appraisal fees but not the rate lock. The rate lock agreement clearly states that if the loan is denied, the lock cost will be refunded. They promised to refund the fees but only refunded the appraisal fees and not the rate lock. They said I wasn't approved for the refund. I demand a full refund of the rate lock charges of $875.70.
