Dear Sir or Madam,
I hereby formally dispute the claim mentioned in your letter and kindly request that you provide a detailed breakdown and justification of the amount being claimed.
In April, I spent a short stay of seven days in Germany. During this trip, I sought advice from a local tourist information office regarding the most suitable way to travel using buses, metro services, and possibly trains. I was explicitly advised by a tourism professional to purchase the Deutschlandticket, which I did immediately.
I was clearly informed that it would be sufficient to cancel the subscription before the 10th of the following month. In my case, this meant cancelling before 10 May, which I duly did within the indicated deadline.
I am therefore very surprised to learn that I am now being asked to pay for the month of May, despite the fact that:
• I do not live in Germany,
• I am no longer present in the country, and
• I am not using any German public transport services.
This situation has arisen solely because I relied, in good faith, on the information provided to me by a tourism professional, whom I reasonably assumed to be reliable and knowledgeable. Under these circumstances, the claim appears to me to be unjustified and incomprehensible.
I therefore kindly ask for your understanding and goodwill in reconsidering this claim. I would appreciate a fair and compassionate review of my situation.
Yours faithfully,
Claimed loss: I am contesting the claim mentioned in your letter regarding the request to pay €189.00 to DB Vertrieb GmbH (reference [protected]). I do not recognize this charge and ask for clarification and cancellation.
Desired outcome: I kindly ask for your understanding in reconsidering this claim and a fair review of my situation. I respectfully request cancellation of this amount, as I do not use German transport services.
