Culver's review: Discrimination complaint

Hi,
My name is Jennae Dillard and I was one of your opening managers for this location and I would like to say that working for John was one of the worst experiences of my life. Before accepting this position I ran another business in Tucson and it was a pizzeria and I was a GM. I had the most experience in the industry besides two other female managers. First I would like to point out that John is very verbally abusive. We are were overworked and underpaid and John even said he was going to offer raises after 6 months of opening and that didn't even happen. It was hard enough we had to drive to an out of city location. Which I did once because I couldn't make it for the carpool and the gas wasn't even enough or wear and tear on my own vehicle which I couldn't afford to have. I now believe I was discriminated against because I eventually asked for less hours because I saw we were not going to get our raises. 12 dollars is not enough for anyone to survive and I am a single mother so it's even harder. I was demoted for needing more time with my children because I was dealing with domestic violence that I hid from John and Kathy. After we had to do 14 hour days with no adequate breaks the abuse got worse and my son was hospitalized. At that moment I couldn't hide it anymore. I couldn't stop the abuse because I didn't have the time or money to do it. Instead of John and Kathy understanding the situation they demoted me to a regular crew member and made my pay 11 dollars after we already should of had raises. That's was discrimination against me being a mother and I am black so I do notice none of your locations have black people. John at one point even yelled at me for not seeing small fries that he made not visible behind a large fry. He said "What are you blind" no I am not but they didn't offer healthcare and I need glasses. During the training I was the go to tech support because no one could do it. I also helped with HR duties during training because no one else could do it. I was given so much responsibility because the other managers couldn't do it. I ended up having to leave because the treatment was so horrible. The last day I work we were short staffed again and I needed a lunch which I could not get because I was on the drive through. NO one was coming to my relief because John and Kathy were working too. I really loved working for Culver because of the morals your company has. Hospitality which I was good at and having compassion which I was good at but I worked for people that had none. I was even homeless when hired and did get help to get a place but it was horrible and I really couldn't afford it. My rent was 900 a month and I barely made 1500 and I drove from Tucson daily. I even started to pay it back because Kevin gave it to us but I couldn't afford to do it all. No one should need a loan to have a home and I should be able to afford a decent place like my bosses. I should of been the GM at this location but John doesn't respect woman. I was even pushed by another manager and both John and Kevin acted like I was over reacting. No woman should deal with physical or mental abuse at work and I dealt with both. I didn't even get enough respect to get my W2 which an employee that stayed there gave me my information. No one wanted me to leave but I was forced to because we didn't get paid enough and they were making money off of us slaving for them. I know it's been too long because I would file a discrimination lawsuit because I was discriminated against for my sex and color. Your company is full of greed and horrible people. Do better!
