Crown Honda This dealership is the worst place to buy a car from!

This dealership is the worst place to buy a car from! I gave them money for a brand-new 2021 Honda Pilot Touring AWD, but they gave me a 2wd instead. It's like they're trying to cheat me. They don't even try to help me fix the problem. I really should have checked the reviews before contacting them.

Crown Honda Their mechanic didn't follow my extended warranty instructions for a tire rotation during each oil change

Their mechanic didn't follow my extended warranty instructions for a tire rotation during each oil change. In Feb 2018, the mechanic didn't explain why the tire rotation wasn't done during an oil change. Additionally, I had taken my car to Crown Honda in Sept 2017 due to a transmission issue. However, in May , my transmission failed at 68,400 miles. To my surprise, the extended warranty company rejected my claim because of the missed tire rotation. Now, I'm stuck paying for a new transmission and other expenses. Crown Honda refuses to admit any wrongdoing. I have all the service records and emails related to this mess. I've been unknowingly paying for a voided extended warranty for over two years. Neither Crown Honda nor their parent company, Asbury Auto Group in Duluth GA, specifically Jason T, the area rep, have taken responsibility for this situation.

Crown Honda I'm only giving one star because there ain't a 0 option

I'm only giving one star because there ain't a 0 option. My experience was so bad that I'll never buy another Honda thing again. My son took my working Honda Odyssey to this place for an oil change and state inspection, but after they were done, I had to get it towed away. Gotta mention that my car passed inspection, but an hour later, they told me the engine was wrecked and wouldn't work no more. Not only did they ruin my minivan, they also tried to charge me over $8000.00 to replace the engine they wrecked by running it without oil. I ain't never gonna recommend this place to nobody and I'm done with Honda. The response I got to my Google review from the place was a joke. Still waiting for the call they promised to talk about it. This place can't be trusted, they're a bunch of liars and cheaters.

Crown Honda I bought a Nissan Murano in 2018

I bought a Nissan Murano in 2018. On the same day, a few hours after leaving the dealership, the car broke down. Chris, the salesman, had to come to my house and tow the car back to Crown Honda for repairs. The next morning, I asked to return the car, but the sales manager said it wasn't possible. Since I had no other options, they went ahead with the repairs. The car stayed at Crown Honda for a month, accumulating interest and mileage that I didn't even use. The service team informed me that the problem was the alternator, which was rebuilt. The manager assured me that I shouldn't have any more issues with the car. However, three weeks later, there were more problems, this time with the engine. The tow truck company told me that I had a terrible engine and it would soon fail. I tried to talk to the manager again to see if he could help me, but I was always shut down when I reached out to someone. I'm still having more problems with the car and I don't know what to do. I've been sold a lemon and now I'm stuck and really worried.

Crown Honda Salesman told me that the dealership always puts brand new tires on every used vehicle they sell

Salesman told me that the dealership always puts brand new tires on every used vehicle they sell. But, I found out that the tires on the vehicle are really worn and need replacing soon after I bought it. I know the vehicle is sold "as-is," but that's assuming the salesperson was honest about its condition. In this case, he was totally dishonest.

Crown Honda I bought my 1st financed car with Honda on March 26th

I bought my 1st financed car with Honda on March 26th. They said it would be no problem to switch my old license plate from my previous car to this new car. They said I would get a new registration in the mail and they would handle everything. But I never got the new registration. So, a week ago, I tried to buy a duplicate, but I was surprised to find out that none of my information had been transferred and my plate was still registered to my old car. So, I've been driving around in an unregistered illegal car for almost 2 months. I called right away and they transferred me to a woman in the titling department. She said she fixed it and would OVERNIGHT me my registration. But I never got it. So, I went in person to explain my problem and they said they would "call back". But I never got a call. So, I called AGAIN and finally a manager gave me temporary tags because they are "still waiting" on the TITLE of a car I bought 2 months ago.

Is Crown Honda Legit?

Crown Honda earns a trustworthiness rating of 91%

Highly recommended, but caution will not hurt.

Our conclusion: After a detailed review, ComplaintsBoard finds Crown Honda to be a trustworthy company. Although there's a 0% resolution rate for customer complaints, which deserves attention, Crown Honda is known for their high standards and safety. If you're thinking about dealing with Crown Honda, it's wise to check how they handle complaints.

It also suggests that the company is organized and has taken steps to secure its online presence.

The age of Crown Honda's domain suggests that they have had sufficient time to establish a reputation as a reliable source of information and services. This can provide reassurance to potential customers seeking quality products or services.

Crownhondagreensboro.com has a valid SSL certificate, which indicates that the website is secure and trustworthy. Look for the padlock icon in the browser and the "https" prefix in the URL to confirm that the website is using SSL.

However ComplaintsBoard has detected that:

  • While Crown Honda has a high level of trust, our investigation has revealed that the company's complaint resolution process is inadequate and ineffective. As a result, only 0% of 12 complaints are resolved. The support team may have poor customer service skills, lack of training, or not be well-equipped to handle customer complaints.
  • Crownhondagreensboro.com has relatively low traffic compared to other websites, it could be due to a niche focus, but could also indicate a potential lack of traffic and popularity. The crownhondagreensboro.com may offer a niche product or service that is only of interest to a smaller audience.
  • Crown Honda protects their ownership data, a common and legal practice. However, from our perspective, this lack of transparency can impede trust and accountability, which are essential for establishing a credible and respected business entity.

Crown Honda We was in the process of buying a car

We was in the process of buying a car. When we looked at the bill of sale to agree/submit to the purchase, we noticed there was a line item for Resist all, which is a protector for inside and outside staining. We told the salesperson we didn't want that product and we were willing to buy the car. The salesperson agreed and said it wouldn't be a problem to remove it. We made a deposit, not a full deposit, just something to hold the car. We contacted the salesperson to send the paperwork to our credit union, but she didn't send it because she wanted to let us know her manager said he couldn't take the Resist All off the bill of sale. If we're buying a car for over $15,000, how can they not take off a $800 line item when we don't want it? What we told her was it couldn't come off because it's been put in the books. Nothing should have been entered in any books until the sale was final and there was a signature. We read the review and felt we liked the salesperson and wanted to give her the sale. But, if her managers aren't allowing her to make the sale to make sure the customer is okay with any purchase, how can we trust they will do their due diligence with anything else?

Crown Honda I took my 2005 Honda Accord to Crown Honda to get it reprogrammed

I took my 2005 Honda Accord to Crown Honda to get it reprogrammed. I had already taken it to two other mechanics before, and they said only Honda could do the reset. They even contacted Honda themselves. When I brought my car to Honda, they said they were waiting for a car part and it would take two days. But those two days turned into a whole month. When I went to the dealership to get my stuff from the car, they couldn't find it. So I called the front desk to ask about my car, and they said their system showed that I had already picked it up. But that couldn't be right because I still didn't have my keys. They said Honda cleared their "system" for the month, so they couldn't find it. They told me to look for it myself. I found my car, but it still wasn't fixed, and they said they were still waiting for the part. I haven't driven my car since August 17. So I asked them to forget about the part and just reprogram my car, which was the only thing I wanted in the first place. But they ended up charging me $581.45 for other services that I didn't ask for, and my car still hasn't been reprogrammed.

Crown Honda Fraudulent or incompetent diagnosis by service department

Fraudulent or incompetent diagnosis by service department. While traveling away from home, I had a check engine light come on. Even though the car seemed fine, and my gas mileage was good, I took it to Crown Honda and they recommended over $1,700 in repairs that were unnecessary, and charged me $180 for saying no. I think they saw they had a 'sucker' from out of town and tried to take advantage of me. Two big issues: 1. For the check engine light, they said I should spend over $1,500 to replace the fuel injectors, when all they needed was a cleaning. I said no, used a $4.00 bottle of injector cleaner and it fixed the problem. I've driven over 9,000 miles since then and it hasn't happened again. 2. They said my rear brakes needed replacing for about another $200, measuring the pads at 2 mm each. One month and 2,000 highway miles earlier they had been measured by my home dealer in Huntersville, NC at 5 mm each. Three months and 6,000 miles later, they had somehow grown back to 4 mm each when measured again at my routine service. I hadn't told my home dealer anything about Crown's recommendations. The whole set of diagnosis and repair recommendations were completely wrong, as proven by what I did later and measurements by my home dealer. Their misdiagnosis can only be because they wanted to cheat a traveler, or they are really bad at their job.

Crown Honda I bought the Honda Insight from Crown Honda Greensboro last year

I bought the Honda Insight from Crown Honda Greensboro last year. The car had a safety recall in June this year. (Loss of power when transitioning from gas to battery or battery to gas, resulting in a very dangerous hazard on the highway.) On June 12th, I took the car to Crown Honda for what they said was a fix for the problem - a new fuel pump. On June 24th, while driving on Interstate 40 towards Greensboro, I completely lost power and almost got run over by heavy traffic. I managed to pull over to the side of the road, which was still a very dangerous place. I called the Highway Patrol, who secured the area until the tow truck arrived and took the car to Crown Honda.

Crown kept the car for several days while waiting for a part, which turned out to be the wrong solution. They installed the part, but the car still had no power. My car is still there three weeks later, and they can't seem to get the right parts or even identify the problem. I have made multiple calls to the manufacturer and the dealership, but I have been treated with very little respect. I have a Smart Start Ignition Interlock installed on my car, so I can't use a loaner car. This makes it even more important for them to work on getting my car back to me as soon as possible. The dealer says the problem lies with Honda, while Honda claims that Crown should be taking care of me as a customer.

I live in Graham and work in Greensboro. I have to pay or beg someone to take me to work so I can afford a car that I don't even have. I need my car back, or if they can't fix it, I need a new one. This is a dangerous car. I wonder how many people have been killed because they couldn't get out of the way of an eighteen-wheeler in heavy traffic due to a lack of power. This problem should be the top priority for Honda as a manufacturer and for Crown as a dealership.

Crown Honda I bought a car from Crown Honda for $14800 on April 5th, a 2014 Audi Q5

I bought a car from Crown Honda for $14800 on April 5th, a 2014 Audi Q5. I paid $15935.12 including their fees. The dealership was Crown Honda and the car was sold "sold as seen." I picked up the car on April 6th. When I turned the key, the service light was on. They told me it was an error and the service department fixed it. But after driving for 10 minutes, a light indicating a side light issue appeared on the dashboard. The next day, the engine light came on while driving. I called Crown Honda and told Carlos about the problem. After a few days of chasing calls, I took the car in. By that point, we also had an indicator for low oil on the dashboard. Additionally, the car shudders when accelerating, indicating serious issues. The car was taken to the service department. They returned it to me, saying that all the issues had been fixed. However, when I got home, the engine light came on again, followed by the oil light the next day. I returned the car to them. They kept it for a few days and then called me to say that there was a serious issue that would be too expensive to fix. Now I don't have a car, but they still have my money. They refused to refund me, but offered a full refund exchange. However, they mentioned that the exchange doesn't include their fees, which amount to over $1000. They also expect me to pay all the fees again for the car I choose to exchange for. Double fees, double taxes? The service has been disappointing. They don't answer my calls, and it's been almost a month without a vehicle or my money!

Crown Honda I got a problem with Crown Honda's service department

I got a problem with Crown Honda's service department. I took my car in 'cause it was shaking. I told the service writer 'bout the free oil change coupon I had. When he called me 'bout my issues, I reminded him 'bout the coupon and asked if they had any deals for my problem. He said he'd check. Later, he called me back and said my car was done and gave me the price, mentioning the oil change again. I told him I couldn't pick up my car before they closed and asked if I could pay online. He sent me the link. After I paid, I waited to see if they'd call or email me to confirm the payment and thank me for my business, but I got nothing. I called back and the receptionist asked him 'bout the payment, but he didn't come to the phone. She said he got it, period. He never thanked me for my business. I told her to tell him to leave my key under the mat 'cause I had a spare to pick up my car. She said she would. When I finally got to Honda that evening, the service department was closed, like I expected, but I had to drive around lookin' for my car. When I finally found it, it still had plastic and paper inside from the technician. I had to throw it away, and my key was nowhere to be found. I went to a car salesman who was still workin' and complained. They took my info and said someone would call me. The next day, which was Saturday, I called and got the service manager, I think his name's Nick. He said he talked to Zack, the service writer, and Zack said he didn't know I wasn't comin' to get my car the day before, so he didn't leave the key and receipt like he was supposed to. I explained to the manager that wasn't true and that I didn't get my oil changed like I was told. He said sorry and offered me a $100 credit on my account and said he'd mail my key on Monday. It's been 8 days, and I still haven't gotten my key or receipt. When I call, he doesn't come to the phone, he just says it's been mailed...

Complete crooks! I cannot believe this place has this many stars. Or maybe they got an honest sales representative. The representative my son was dealing with took complete advantage of him and set him up for 100% failure did not give decent amount for trade in and basically lied to him. He just turned 19 and this was my sons 1st time going to a dealership...

Crown Honda New Accord

Went to this dealership to buy an Accord. looked at an LX-S and liked it but not the color. Salesman said color wouldn't matter. Ran the numbers and I was approved. Apparently they didn't have black and the finance guy said he couldn't add the cost to bring one to their lot. So we walked away from the wrong color. Get a call next morning telling me if I bring a deposit they would get a black one. Go down to pay a deposit and ensured it was the same deal. Now I get told to spend hours on the phone getting them a payoff fax on our trade, our current contract and to cancel our extended warranty. So I did and made arrangements to pick up and sign the following morning. Well the night before minutes before closing they call and say they can no longer offer the deal. So I am now waiting on my deposit back and trying to re new the warranty. Very dishonest people at this dealer.

Crown Honda CarFAX Rigged to show clean car

Just what is a “Certified Used Car” at Crown Honda that could mean just about anything at all. Floater, Total, MV Homicide… wrecked. I found out that it also cost me $1, 500 up front and $3, 000 on the back end when traded.

On December 24 2010, I purchased a 2008 Honda Civic Coupe EX-L (VIN 2HGFG12xxxxxxxxx) from Crown Honda, Pinellas Park, Florida. The vehicle was a Honda Certified Used Car. The salesman represented that only the best of the used cars can be certified and that it passed a bank of tests and inspections. Further review of the Manual Books from the glove box revealed that the car was sold by Crown and serviced by Crown. All in all a pretty fair opportunity to secure a “good” used car. That’s why I paid $15, 621 for the vehicle. Top dollar by KBB.com, about $1, 800 more than average in this area.

Here’s the meat… I went to another Honda dealer to see about a ’12 Civic Si Coupe. Crown wanted $4K over sticker + $600 dealer charge. Greedy! The Other Dealer had 2 new Si’s and 1 used. The one I wanted they offered for $1, 500 below sticker, I am an internet buyer.

Everything about the other Honda dealer’s sales process was easy and agreeable. Until, they came back with the CarFax report on my ’08 Civic Coupe Trade. It revealed an accident reported in 2009 a year before I purchased it.

I recall the Crown salesman showing me a copy of the CarFax for my 2008 Civic Coupe and it was clean (poor copy though, salesman said the original was …in the manager’s desk). I would not have purchased the 2008 Civic Coupe if I had known that the vehicle had been wrecked! That’s why I asked for the CarFax.

I had to pay $499 to Crown Honda to service my vehicle when I purchased it out of the lease. My husband is a mechanic and was not allowed to service it himself (which he would have been able to do for a 10th of the price) as they are assuming liability. That's fair enough. BUT what does the $499 cover. 4 weeks later with my new baby in the car - my car started to make strange noises when I applied the brakes. When my husband heard it he said the brake pads were gone...we looked with a flashlight, and sure enough there was less than 1/8" of pad left. We were told today that the $499 does not cover them looking properly at the brakes. It does not cover them removing the wheels - no tire rotation, no wheel balancing, no alignment, no proper checking of brakes for $499. It basically seemed to be a basic inspection ($30) and oil change for $499. So before you buy any used car from them, make sure you have your own mechanic look it over to ensure it is safe to drive. My husband and I relied on their service this time and have regretted it. $499 for a service that doesnt cover a basic safety item - will never never trust a car dealership again. From now on my husband is the car's only mechanic...if a dealership ever needs to be involved again for any reason I want my mechanic there to see what work they perform and that it is up to standard. $499 for an inspection and glorified oil change ...UNBELIEVABLE !
