Though I think that Consumer Labs does a good job testing various products I'm not sure how useful the reviews are. After reading a review on chocolate bars I started eating Ghirardelli® Intense Dark 72% Cacao Dark bars because it was a "top pick". After reading their latest review this bar is now rated as "not approved".
So that's not very useful when a tested product can go from great to bad in between reviews. I have a 2 year subscription and will probably not renew when it's expired.
Recommendation: Just get your general information for free on the web.
Very discouraging when that happens, but if the quality of the has gone down, dangerously? Companies can save a fortune with poor ingredients. It's insanely discouraging how complicated our food system is in this country, but it's not Consumerlab's fault. I think they are working very hard to help us with careful study of the stuff we want to consume. Good luck, Steve!
