So, I was trying to get a coupon for this park I wanted to go to and I found Yipit. They had a coupon for 50% off and I was like "heck yeah, I'm gonna save some money!" But then, when I put in my email address and tried to get the coupon, it was expired. Like, what the heck Yipit? That's not cool. I feel like they scammed me or something. And now I'm worried that they're gonna sell my email address to a bunch of other companies and I'm gonna get even more spam emails. Ugh, thanks a lot Yipit. I guess I need to make a spam email address now just to deal with all the junk mail.

I needed someone to connect a 3/8" under counter sink faucet line to a 1/2" angle stop. I had already done the prep work and installed the faucet setup in a single hole marble top. All the technician had to do was make a connection via an adapter between two hoses. When the technician arrived, he looked at the situation and said it would cost $350. I was shocked. I asked him why it would cost so much for such a simple job. He said it would cost about $275-$300 for labor and $50-$60 for parts. I told him that didn't make sense and that he could tell Roto Rooter no thank you. He then lowered the price to $200 and $60 for parts. I was under pressure because I had renters coming the next morning, so I agreed to pay $180. Looking back, I should have just told him to leave, but I needed the job done quickly.

The technician got two $15 hoses out of his truck and a tiny adapter, fixed it in about 5 minutes, and left. The next day, I called Roto Rooter to complain about the price. They told me that they normally charge $350 an hour for plumbers and that I got a good deal. I was shocked. I called back and asked for the hourly rate, but they refused to give it to me over the phone. They said they would have to come out and give a free estimate. I felt like they were trying to bait and switch me.

I have been in the construction business for over 35 years, and I have never had a contractor refuse to give me an hourly rate over the phone. I feel like Roto Rooter is not the company I have known for so many years. This particular group was out of Anaheim, and I would suggest thinking twice before calling them. I went to their website and tried to contact customer service. I wanted to ask them to stop annoying me, but they did not reply! I want them to stop sending me messages!
