Collections Etc. is a store that I've had some mixed experiences with. Sometimes they get things right, but other times they really mess up and then try to blame it on you. It's frustrating, but I keep coming back because they do have some good deals and products.
One thing I've learned is that if they duplicate an order, don't refuse it. They'll say it never came back to them and won't give you a refund. I had this happen to me once and I refused the package because I knew they'd charge me shipping for their mistake. They wouldn't budge or meet me halfway with anything else to compensate for their part in the problem. I have another situation like this and I asked them not to deduct shipping charges from my refund. We'll see if they have the decency to not make me pay for their screwup.
Another thing I've learned is that if you get a confirmation number of "0", wait at least 24 hours before redoing the order. That's what they told me after the fact, anyway. I don't know if it would have worked, but I probably would have lost that day's discounts.
Overall, Collections Etc. has some good prices and products, but their customer service can be frustrating. If they were better at that, I'd give them a 5-star review and wouldn't hesitate to give them repeat business.
Collections Etc. Review: Terrible Customer Service and Shipping Delays
So, I thought I'd give Collections Etc. a try and ordered three items. I knew one of them was back ordered, but I figured that wouldn't hold up the rest of my order. Boy, was I wrong! After waiting for two weeks and not receiving the two in stock items, I decided to call and see what was going on. The rep told me that they were waiting for the back ordered item to come in before they could send out the rest of my order. I was not happy about this and insisted that they send out the two items that were in stock. The rep assured me that they would go out that day, but after waiting another week and calling back, I found out that they never went out. I was so frustrated!
I tried to cancel my order, but the rep told me that it had already been sent to the warehouse and couldn't be canceled. I reluctantly agreed to accept the order, but I knew I would never order from them again. When I told the rep this, all she said was "I'm sorry to hear that". That didn't make me feel any better.
To make matters worse, it's been over a month since I placed my order and I still haven't received anything! I'm so fed up with their terrible customer service that I've decided not to accept the package(s) at all. I refuse to be treated like this and dismissed in such a manner. It's just not right.
Overall, I would not recommend Collections Etc. to anyone. Their customer service is terrible and they don't seem to care about their customers at all. Save yourself the hassle and shop somewhere else.
Collections Etc. Website Navigation Needs Improvement
I gotta say, the Collections Etc. website ain't the easiest to navigate. Every time I click on something to check it out, and then try to go back, it sends me all the way back to the beginning of the catalog. Like, I was on page 20 and then I looked at the details for something and when I hit back, it sent me all the way back to page 1. I tried clicking the X to exit out of the details page, but that just sent me back to the main page. I tried this a bunch of times and it was always the same. I do a lot of online shopping and I've never had this problem with any other company's website.
It took me over an hour just to look at some of the items and I gave up on trying to see everything. I just ordered what I had in my cart because I didn't want to go through the hassle of going back to page 20 and then having to go through all the pages again just to finish that one page. It's way too time-consuming just to see the whole catalog.
I've been a customer of Collections Etc. for a long time and I don't remember having this issue with their website before. I don't think it's my computer because I don't have this problem with any other website. I'm sure other people feel the same way. Nobody wants to keep going back to the main page after looking at an item's details.
Overall, I like Collections Etc. and I've bought a lot of stuff from them over the years, but their website needs some work. It's just not user-friendly and it's frustrating to use.

So, I was looking for some cool stuff to buy online and came across Collections Etc. I signed up for their email list and was promised free shipping and a 10% discount on my order. I called the number they provided for help with orders and talked to a guy named Jay. Let me tell you, he didn't know anything! He said he couldn't do anything about my order because I didn't have a promo code. He told me to wait until I got one, but I had already been waiting for 45 minutes! I was getting frustrated.
So, I decided to mess around with my order and cleared out my cart. Then I put everything back in and tried to redo my order. But Jay wouldn't help me, so I had to do it all over again. I even checked with PayPal to make sure they weren't paying for it and put it on my credit card instead. But when I called for help, they just told me to keep waiting. What a waste of time!
Honestly, Jay was useless. He was rude and didn't help me at all. I went ahead and placed my order without getting my discount. I just wanted to share my experience with Collections Etc. and my recent purchase order #[protected] from September 30, 2018. I ordered two items, #32572 and #42583, and received my order on October 10, 2018. However, when I attempted to assemble item #32572, I noticed it was damaged and couldn't sit flat.
I immediately visited their website and sent an email explaining the situation. However, after two days without receiving any response, I sent another email on October 12. Unfortunately, I still didn't hear back from anyone. On October 15, I decided to call their customer service and spoke with Maria, who was located offshore. She denied ever receiving any of my emails, but still decided to credit my account $12.99 and instructed me to discard the product.
I was disappointed to hear that this item was receiving many negative comments, but I appreciated the credit. Maria informed me that the credit should appear on my credit card in seven days. However, today is October 25, which is ten days since I spoke with Maria, and my account still doesn't show a credit having been applied.
I have several other items on hold with Collections Etc. that I haven't finalized pending the outcome of this situation. As someone who isn't accustomed to this type of business procedure, I will need to reassess my future online purchases. I hope that Collections Etc. can improve their customer service and communication in the future.
Collections Etc. Review: Is It Worth the Extra Fees and Membership Cost?
I gotta say, I was pretty excited to check out Collections Etc. I mean, who doesn't love free shipping, right? But then I saw that there was a processing fee and sales tax added on. Now, I'm no expert, but I've only ever seen scammers charge a processing fee. And as for sales tax, well, I don't see that they have a storefront in TX, so I'm not sure why they're charging it.
Anyway, I decided to give it a shot and see how long it would take for my order to arrive. I wasn't expecting two-day shipping like Amazon, but I was hoping for something reasonable.
Then I saw that they have a membership that's almost twice as expensive as Amazon's, but without any music or streaming services. I mean, you'd have to be buying a lot every month to make that worth it. And even then, it might not be worth it.
So I went ahead and ordered a table, and it did come in with all the extra charges. It was a couple of dollars less than either Amazon or Walmart, but still. That processing fee just doesn't sit right with me.
And then there's the membership fee. $14.95 per month? That's a lot. You'd have to spend $150 per month just to break even.
Overall, I'm not sure if Collections Etc. is worth it. It started off as a new place to shop, but by the time I got to checkout, I wasn't so sure.
Collections Etc. Premier Savings Membership: Not Worth the Hassle
The clothes I got from Collections Etc. were alright - not the best quality but not terrible either. My beef is that I signed up for a free month of the Premier Savings membership because they said they'd give me free shipping (worth $15) and free return shipping. They also said that I could get 10% rebates from a bunch of other companies that are part of the plan. But here's the catch - these rebates aren't automatic. Nope, you gotta fill out a form with a bunch of info about your order and then email them "backup documentation" like your receipt. The receipt for the order you just made with them. Then they take 3 to 6 weeks to "process" your submission. And the "rebate" comes in the form of "Marketplace credits". I'm guessing that means you get credit for a new order, not actual money back. But I don't know for sure because I'm still waiting for my rebate claim to go through.
And if you want free return shipping, you gotta enter the address of the company on the shipping label. But I couldn't find the address for returns anywhere. I gave up when I realized it had been more than 30 days since I got my order and they wouldn't take it back. That's on me, but I feel like the company makes everything so complicated. It's a lot of work and I think they do it on purpose so you won't bother claiming all the rebates you could. I'm cancelling my membership, thank you very much.

I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed with Collections Etc. I was really hoping to get my hands on some Christmas gifts for my loved ones, so I ordered a few items from their website. I even paid extra for 3-day shipping to make sure everything arrived on time. But when the package finally showed up, it was a day late. Not a huge deal, but still annoying.
And then, when I opened the package, I realized that one of the items was missing! I was charged for both, but only received one. I immediately called their customer service line, but the person I spoke to didn't seem to speak English very well. It was really hard to explain the situation to them.

I tried to order some stuff from Collections Etc. using PayPal, but it didn't work for some reason. I called up customer service and told them what happened. The lady on the phone said that the order didn't go through, but she could take my order online instead. I told her that I had a code for free shipping for online purchases, but she said she could still do it. So I told her what I wanted to order, and when she gave me the total it still had shipping cost, so I asked her about it. She said that was for online only, and I said I know but at the beginning of the call you said you could still do it. So she put me on hold and finally said she could do it. She also kept trying to get me to buy other things even though I said I didn't want anything else. When she gave me the final total again it was still too high. It was because one of the items was cheaper online and she couldn't give me the online price, so I would have to order online. I told her the reason I was calling was because I was having a problem ordering online and every time I order online from your sight I have problems. So after she wasted about 30 minutes of my time I had to go back and place my order online. This time I didn't use PayPal and the order finally went through. This is really frustrating and makes me not want to order from them again.
Collections Etc. Review: Order Cancellation and Shipping Issues
So, I gotta tell you about my experience with Collections Etc. I placed an order on 10/2/18 and right after I did, it said that one of the items wasn't in stock. I didn't want to pay for shipping and handling fees, so I called and cancelled the order. The representative on the phone confirmed that the order was cancelled and I placed another order online for the same item and another new item so I could get free shipping.
But then, on 10/5/18, I got an email saying that the cancelled order was shipped! I called Collections Etc. again and told them that I cancelled the order and the representative confirmed that it was cancelled. I received my other order on 10/5/18, but then on 10/6/18, I received the cancelled order! I was so confused and frustrated that I just wrote "RETURN TO SENDER" on the package and dropped it off at the post office.
I called and emailed Collections Etc. a few times about this and I still haven't received a refund for the $25.03, which includes the shipping and handling fee. I don't understand how the representatives told me that the order was cancelled and then I still received it. I just want my money back and for them to let me know what's going on.
So, if you're thinking about ordering from Collections Etc., just be careful and make sure you double check everything. I don't want anyone else to go through what I did.
Fraudulent hold on my bank account
This company is a FRAUD. I purchased $354.09 in merchandise and they placed a hold for over $1,500 with my bank. This has overdrawn my account by over $600. I called Collections, Etc. and have been told by 3 different people that this is their pattern and practice. I was also told not to worry that the excess funds will be released in 6 days. WTF? My account is overdrawn by $600 leaving me without access to any funds for 6 days and they casually tell me not to worry? I guess I'll just go without food for the next 6 days. Needless to say, I canceled my order and am sitting waiting, hungry, for my money to be returned to me.

charged my credit card for items I didn't order online
On June 28 2018 I shopped online at collectionsetc.com. I put several items in my cart but when I realized one was out Of stock and I wouldn't get free shipping, I exited the site without placing the order. The next day they emailed me that my order was being processed, even charging me for shipping. My credit card has been billed too. Since I didn't actually complete the order, I consider this credit card fraud and theft. I called them immediately to cancel the order but was told that I would not receive any confirmation from them that the order has been cancelled and in fact, I have no way of knowing if it's cancelled or not. I then called my credit card company and told them to dispute the charge from collections.com and they assured me that I would not have to pay it.
I do not intend to let this shady company get away with this.
deceptive horrible customer service
Let me list the problems with this order.
I placed an order with them, immediately upon selecting place this order a pop up appeared said the Catalina Quilt was unavailable. So the system knew the quilt was unavailable but charged me and started me on this battle.
1. After order was placed a pop up showing one of the quilts as unavailable. Yes that’s right after. Now you are shipping pillow shams for a quilt you told me after the order was place is unavailable.
2. Apparently you changed order numbers because I immediately copied the order number that showed the quilt as unavailable and contacted you within 2 minutes.
3. Charged me shipping and did not give me the 10% discount that the original ordered showed with the total due (to include the unavailable quilt 176.96).
4. 4 days to respond to my original email.
5. Shipped part of the order I clearly asked you to cancel within 2 minutes of my placing the original order.
Ridiculous
I have ordered an outfit set from www.collectionsetc.com website and it took them a long time to deliver my order. When my outfit arrived and I tried it on I felt that it was way too tiny and did not fit. I checked the label and saw that it was an incorrect size. Contacted customer service and asked for a replacement but they said that was the last size in stock and offered me a refund, I agreed.
Later they gave me $10 store credit! What? I paid $20 for the outfit and the refunded only half the price and the worst part was that they gave me a store credit! Beyond ridiculous!
Received nothing but was charged.
I ordered an item on Sept. 4th. Weeks went by but didn't get the item. It appeared on my credit card. I asked why they billed me before shipping the item. Guy said "that's just the way we do it." He told me the item was due to be shipped on Sept. 12. It is now Sept. 29 and nothing has been received. Called their customer service number. It rang twice then NOTHING! These people are crooks. The item was $29.98. The order #W2531180. I would like a refund.
Same thing happened to me. I ordered and item on July 13, 2015, but I never received item. I emailed numerous times with no reply. I called on October 2 and was told it was a popular item( a shoulder pulley?!?!?) and that it was due in on October 8 and I would see it shortly. I emailed a few more times. I placed another call today, December 3 and was told it was sent in July. I started to question the tech and he was rude and hung up. I called back and asked for a supervisor. He, too, said it was shipped. I asked why I never received confirmation of order or being sent. He then told me he had no tracking number. They are bogus liars who try to get you off phone and have no explanation for you.
Too tricky staff and they want to deceive you
I wouldn’t recommend anyone to buy from the company www.collectionsetc.com, because their customer services were experienced guys and they would scam you very easily. I have got some deals from them and wanted to return all these items, but the staff started to tell me that I needed to buy for the return shipping and other fees, but I haven’t heard about them before. Stay away from this company and their staff.
I just got scammed by 2 cs people from Collectionsetc. They put some of their items on markdowns after christmas. I wanted to buy some of the poinsettias they had marked down. They had RED and WHITE ones on the markdown column with the RED and WHITE one (both colors) under the pictures of the poinsettias on sale. They were 6 for 16.99 at christmas for the RED and WHITE ones. Now they are claiming the WHITE ones are only on sale. That is a lie. If that were the case, the white ones would be the only one showing under the picture of the 2 RED and WHITE ones. They have reduced them to 9.97 now but still saying they are 16.99 when they are under the new column for 9.97. If that isn't FRAUD, I don't know what is. Plain as day and night. All their other complaints are as bad or worst than mine. Never do business with the devil and that is what these people are.
Service
Ordered two things from them off of their website. One item came and was not the quality or look as it was on the website. The second item never arrived. I was billed $39.98 for a doormat that was not worthy of even half that price. When I called them they said that every order is subject to a $4.98 service fee, HUH? And that they emailed me about the second item being discontinued...I can assure you they did not. They also couldn't explain a $15 expedited shipping fee I was charged. They ultimately agreed to refund me $6.08 HUH? The customer service reps were less than able to clearly articulate what had happened and never apologized or offered to do anything but the $6.08 credit. Will never do business again with them and will ensure no one I know will either.
