Santander Consumer USA auto loan

They have towed my car twice. My bill was current in August because I was looking for a new car. It's now November and it says I'm 2300 passed due. I looked at my passed statements and all of them show that I've been passed due over 2K every month which is not correct! How was I looking at new cars! Are they going in and changing the statements? Now I called carmax to refund my warrenties and they said it looks as if Santander has canceled then without my knowledge and I'm supposed to sign off on that! Is there a number I can call about this? I'm active duty military in North Carolina. I need all the info I can get!

Santander Consumer USA auto financing - predatory lending on the aging

Purchased vehicle 11-2013. I have since made the payment for the amount on contract and now I owe more than I paid for the vehicle in 2013. The contract contains rate and terms that are predatory in consumer practices.

My loan is paid and now I have another 30 months of car payments? No. this is not possible. unpaid fees and charges? RESPA needs to come and take over your industry.
I have called for options and solutions, well I was told to pay my payments.

I am requesting the pink slip be released and a zero balance recorded. We have now gone into area of financial exploitation expecting senior citizens to pay this rate of doing business. Client # 5924101

Santander Consumer USA auto loan/payments

Hi. My name is lanzaddy. I'm having trouble with Santander when it comes to my car payment. I have been on time within/on time making my payments. Recently I have been calling them so I can document the differences between my monthly payments and the amount I would need to payoff my car. Within the last month or two I have talked to them because it's getting closer for me to become the owner of my car due to paying a little extra on my car payment. Which is a very high payment close to $500 Originally. In October I have made a nice payment so I wouldn't have to worry about making a payment for November. My next payment would b due in December which should have been $180 for the month from speaking with a customer representative. November 2nd I sent $400 dollars so I can go another month ahead so I can stay ahead of my payments because I like to make payments early instead of late or close to due date. Which would have carried over to January if not February. This is where things take a turn. November 11, 2018 I contacted Santander consumers to make sure i didn't have a payment again until the following month and as I'm speaking with a representative about it the first time. I was told that the $400 I sent went to my principal. Now this is what one representative told me. Something didn't seem right so I called my father so I can have the second ear for the conversation I was having with them. Since he has permission by me to be able to hear our conversation and it's documneted. So I called back again and the second time I called and spoke with them I was told that my payment went to my interest instead of principle and that it doesn't matter cause they can do as they please. It doesn't matter and that it's up to them when it comes to making a payment and that I still have to pay an extra $440 dollars for my car payment now I've been sending more than that so I can pay them off quicker instead because that's the type of person I am I hate being late and feeling like I didn't make the payment on time or early even if I made the payment.
I need some help and advice about this situation

I've been having problems with Santander concerning my payments. I had purchased my vehicle in 2015 it's now December 2018, and they're saying I owe more than my purchase price. I'd asked what happened to the three years of monthly payments of $378.00 I've been paying, and they stated it went to my interest. They are truly ripping us off and I hope they be investigated and put out of business.

I have been having the same issue with Santander. When I called and asked for my payoff I got one amount. Then was told they hadn't reconciled my account and that I may owe more. What back doesn't do reconciliations. I hate them

Santander Consumer USA auto loan

I submitted a complaint but just a summary:
1. Chapter 7 didn't include vehicle and Santander was contacted by my Attorney and myself
2. My Attorney assured me I was protected and Santander told me when filed fax a copy of Bankruptcy papers and the 2 mos. would go behind loan and I would start paying regular payment
3. Contacted Santander to fax Bankruptcy papers and start paying and I was told no Matter how many times I called in the Bankruptcy dept. and I even tried customer service that "I can not give you any advice" 4. I was locked out of my online account can you help "I can not give you any advice" very creepy
5. Told them I'll have my Attorney handle this "I can not give any advice"
6. I told my Attorney that let me know about the lawsuit and that's when I told my Attorney that almost every month I fought with them over charges added to my bill. I was late 2 x's In 2 years I gave all my statements to my Attorney and with interest going up an 1/8th here and there without any disclosure and the fees that were for bogus things he calculated I had paid 6mos worth of payments on top of my regular payments that they pocketed and didn't show towards my loan obviously.
7. I decided to mail $10 to see what would happen, no more because I didn't want to lose my money. Smart decision, I waited for over a month and never received a statement, phone call or anything like they vanished. I called to see if they received $10 from me? OMG, same "I can't give you advice" I said okay that is so weird I am asking about $10 not advice "I can't give you any advice"
8. Told my Attorney he said wait and let's see what's happening with the lawsuit, but you definitely have been scammed out of approximately $1500 or more so when they talked to my Attorney about putting 2 mos. behind the loan why would they care they pocketed around $1, 500 + of my money
9. When I look at their website it looks like their are practicing a legal, ethical and wonderful business! Like my Attorney said $1, 500 to me, working 3 p/t jobs is A LOT OF MONEY! To them they took my money and millions of others and invested it probably privately and that's a lot of return on people's money for their scam not considering people, like myself who went through a horrible divorce, trying to make it and eventually I will finish my degree and never have to use a predatory lender that pockets people's $$$ who cleans houses, barely can walk the next day to stand on my feet to cut hair and as an independent contractor travel to elderly people's homes to do their hair (my favorite job, beautiful souls). I work anytime I get a call and I pay rent ($600) a month for a chair in a salon! I buy all my own beauty supplies, cleaning supplies and I've been ripped off and I save every penny I can that doesn't go to living and my daughter to one day advertise and finish my degree why did I add my personal story because it's more than 1/2 of American's stories that have to go through predatory lending where the definition: characterized as unfair, deceptive, or fraudulent lending

Please let me know what else I can do [protected]@yahoo.com

Santander Consumer USA auto loan

In 2011 I had a loan with Santander, I got sick and lost my job and had to file a chapter 11 inorder to keep my truck that Santander repoed. I got my truck back and my job back. Was making my monthly payments when I got sick again and ended up in the hospital for two months. When I got out I had no job, but was for sure going to receive social security disability I just had to wait a couple months. My truck was repoed again. I was not even out of hospital 2 days. I called Santander and explained everything to them, and asked if they could work with me. All they said was No. They had the truck at that point had no interest in working with me. I had payed on the loan for 4 years and only had 1 year left. Then just the other day, 6 years later I get a call from someone who is representing Santander and says that I owe them 4, 000 dollars for the balance of the truck after they re sold it, and I could pay 25% of it but would have to pay 516 dollars for a few months. Or they were going to sue me. I'm sick with a life threatening disease and am on disability. Santander and its associates don't really care about their customers just the all mighty dollar. Santander took over my loan and never lowered my interest and I had good credit. I really believe something needs to be done.

Santander Consumer USA credit reporting for auto loan

On October 16, 2018 I made a payment and was given a 2 month extension on my auto loan as I was affected by Hurricane Florence. At that time, I thought I was paying September 2018 payment, albiet 22 days late, but less than 30 days for sure. I was told that with the extension I would not have another payment due until November 21, 2018. I was also assured that this would not show any late payments on my Credit report. Something that was crucial for me as my home was destroyed in the flooding from Hurricane Florence and I am now in the process of purchasing a new home. I was informed some days later by my mortgage lender that Santander did mark my payment as over 30 days past due. I have called multiple times and spoken to multiple people at Santander Customer service who have informed me that I would recieve an email stating that my account is up to date and that I have not had a late payment since 2016. I have yet to receive this letter. I am now homeless with my fiance our 5 children as my mortgage loan can not be finalized due to this late payment on my credit report. I have always been very happy with your services. Right now though I am seriously heart broken. After losing everything to the flood, my family was so looking forward to our new home. I am praying that someone can help me and get this taken care of so that I can still purchase this home.

Santander Consumer USA auto loan

I was sold a 2017 Nissan Versa in November 2016. The dealer used predatory tactics to get a loan for the car with Santander at 20 percent interest rate. They knew I was walking and desperately needed a car. Now I realize that Santander won't let me refinance or even try to negotiate a lower rate since I'm in good standing. I'm going to end up paying over $25, 000 for a car with an $11, 000 price!
Help! I've got to get out of this contract with this corrupt company!

Hello my name is Daniel Fuentes. My identity has been stolen. And I have an account with you that I did not initiate personally. You need to do a couple of things. The first thing you need to do is pursue legal action against Whoever has initiated an account with you under my name. After that you need to increase your security and double-check people who build an account with you. I will no longer be accepting calls from you. I have initiated a identity theft investigation. I am paying for a dark web search and a deep web search. So anybody who has access to my old account still. Your time is up.

Santander Consumer USA auto loan

This people are criminals with license. 3 years later I owe more than the day that I bought the vehicle. For example last month was late for my payment I ask the operator how much it was need it to be paid. The lady was 972.00, this month they are claiming that I owe over 1600.00 dollars and this is not the first time that this happened. Any other institution charge you 50.00 for a late payment or even a 100.00. This people charge you 13.00 dollars per day until you catch up conveniently they don't tell you about it. If God forbit you are a person that go thru thought times It will be impossible for you to get out of debt with them.I need to be added to this lawsuit. Please contact me at [protected]@hotmail.com To be added to the lawsuit against Santander Consumer USA for Illegal charges and fraudulent fees. I have paid on this vehicle I have paid for this vehicle more than 20, 000 dollars n 3 years and they are telling me that I owe almost the same as the day when I bought it. something is not right.

Santander Consumer USA product/ service

My name is Kerryann Harris-Thompson I have a personal loan with you end in 1868, am writing this complaint because and so disappointed frustrated and fed up with your company, I was mislead, lie to and believe taken advantage of.
When I applied for this loan originally I wanted the date to be on the 15th because I have so many things coming out in the first week of the month, I explain that to the rep, I was told if they have to change the date it was push back the progress because the loan will need to be withdrawn and send back to underwriting, I was ok with that, however I was told I don't have to do that I will just have to sign a paper andhe will send it in and by the next billing cycle the loan will be on the 15th have waited two full billing cycle and it never change, have contacted Santander and explain the situation and wa told I would have to pay two weeks back interest at no time prior to me signing for the loan that was express to me therefore I refuse to pay back interest, I ask for the loan to come off auto pay from Santander and send me document in the mail to set up auto pay from my bank and I never received those documents.
Have never been 30 days late on my payment at all have always made the payment prior by transferring it from the Santander checking account, I realized that it's showing that I have a few late payment I call down to find out what's was going on o oh to find out the dates that have been making the payment it does not register for that day and it's the same bank therefore if I transfer a payment on a Friday afternoon it will not posted to the account until the following Monday or Tuesday and at that time it will show up late, this is wrong because if I made the payment from a Santander bank to a Santander bank it should credit for the date have made the payment, no other banks that have dealt with does this, with all that is happening have try to close out my account and could not because am not allow to make the payment over the phone with a Sanatander rep either so if my payment is 28 days late I have no choice but to make that payment online and if it's a weekend then that payment will post late the following Tuesday, Santander set out to rouin people credit, if I made the payment from you checking to your loan I should received credit for the date have made the payment, not only that if I have get the due date have requested because I sign the loan the payment would have never been late, my July payment is showing up late and I made that payment ontime but because have made it on a weekend you put the payment late, I need these payment to be corrected on my credit report because have never made a 30 days late payment, at this point if I have to contacted on attorney I will have to and write consumer affairs because this is wrong what you are doing to people and no one will to help, have receive a letter in the mail today telling me about your policy, have never heard anyone or any bank does this, have lost 120 points off my credit by you reporting my payment late, have been lie to by your employees, have been taken advantage of and now u roiun my credit, I hope you will be able to fixed this.
I want to close my checking account and cannot even do that because u does not accept payment over the phone.
Hope you will be able to work on this to resolved this issue
Below is on example of when have made a payment and they credit it another date
Thank you

Santander Consumer USA auto loan term, fees and no right for redemption

I was told January 2017 that the end of my loan was December 2017. December 2017 I logged into my account to find out that it was changed to 2018. May 2018 my vehicle was repossessed on a Friday. The place that has the vehicle was closed the weekend, so I couldn't get any info. I called that Monday and paid $1000 and then they told me where the vehicle was. I called the company and the vehicle was on its way to be auctioned in another state! I was never given any documents regarding my right to redemption. The storage that had my vehicle even said they didn't tell them I was coming to pick up my car. They are frauds! Now they have added a $1590 balance to my credit that I should not owe!

Santander Consumer USA loan application and approval

I was reading how Santander inflated customers incomes to make them approved and then were stuck in payments they can't afford with super high interest rates.. I got my car financed through Santander in may of 2017.. not one proof of income was requested by the salesman.. I was approved instantly and then told if I put 2, 000 miles on this 2017 Ford focus in 10 days i would only have to put $500 down but if i couldn't get the miles i would've had to put $3, 500 down .. i got screwed with a 29% interest rate so once I'm done paying for this $14, 000 car, I'll be paying back roughly $40, 000 .. I knew I couldn't afford the $518 / month payment but I was excited I got approved for such a new car with my crappy credit so I signed my life away to Santander consumer USA. It's now a year later and there are multiple recalls on my car along with a wiring issue that a car I got with 34 miles on it when I pulled off the lot shouldn't have had already. So $300 later the car is fixed but I'm behind in payments. I was set up for failure considering they didn't even check into employment or income.i should've known better but I was approved so I just went with it...

Santander Consumer USA car loan

Need of help! I'm being charged 25.5 % interest and I'm tired! Champion Chevrolet in Howell, Michigan assured me after a year I could refinance. No one will help me!
I called Santander almost a year ago as I've had the loan almost 1 1/2 years and they said, " we never lower interest rates." I was lied to and used in a time of need. I'm disgusted with this company. My payment is 509.00 a month, with 336.37 going to interest. I understand I'm a risk but this is literally killing people when their down.
Thank you ~ Dawn Lukins [protected]

Santander Consumer USA customer service and payments

My car was repossessed for no reason. I made a payment over the phone and it was applied to the wrong account. How this happens is beyond me.I do understand that I I was late on one of my payment but I did make a large one very recently that was applied to someone else account. I did make a payment on my account and it was not applied due to the fact of your mistake. You repossessed my vehicle, now not only did this ruin my day by making me call out of work, after going through every department and making a thousand phone calls after 4 hours of trying to fix YOUR mistake I find out I'm unable to get my car until the next day. I now have to call out of work AGAIN tomorrow I also have to get a ride to go get my vehicle of which shouldn't have been repossessed in the first place. I feel like since you REPOSSESSED someone's car because of YOUR MISTAKE I should not have to wait over 24 HOURS to get my vehicle back. This should have been an URGENT matter and you really should have sent someone to return it to me. I am beyond disgusted with the service I received and that this could even happen in the first place. A simple "sorry" from one of your employees is no where near enough. Why wasn't this a priority? You took a car because of a HUGE billing/payment issue. And somehow I have to just "deal" with this? This situation was handled horribly.

A representative named Dominic answered the call. He began speaking and rambling on about in my account and not answering my questions. He kept speaking extremely fast a it was impossible to hear what he was saying.
I asked if he could speak up. He made a comment that his head phone was not properly being worn.

I saw online in my Santander account that I had made two payments and was not applied to outstanding balance.
I wanted to check if that was accurate or not. I also was trying to let him know about I just tried to make a payment online and the site was not taking the Amount which I was trying to pay.
