I contacted Dustin, who was referred over to me by a former colleague, to assist me with my job search. The conversation started off pleasant as we went through a few details about my work background and what I was looking for. He requested a copy of my resume, which I sent via email and he told me that she would start working on my search and that I would hear back from him no later than the next day to go through my details in-depth and discuss what opportunities he was working on.

Starting in about 2 hours, I was called my former managers, co-workers, and clients letting me know that Dustin had been referred to them by me asking if they were hiring and shoving a candidate down their throat. I never received a follow-up phone call, and after 2 phone attempts and 2 emails, I gave up trying to contact him.

Needless to say, I would highly suggest any candidate (especially in the internet tech space) NOT work with him or this company unless they would like to have their career put in jeopardy. This is unscrupulous business practice at its worst.

I completely understand his complaint and was insulted by a higher up because I refused to give a "witness" else my ID for a third party company to verify information. I advised that nobody else knows my ID and felt very uncomfortable about the situation . There were way too many inconsistencies and was not informed about a lot.

My name is Dustin with Quest Groups and I am writing in response to this complaint. First off I would like to thank you for bringing this to the attention of myself and Quest Groups. I would also like to apologize for any miscommunication or suspected wrongdoing on my part. Though I am a bit puzzled. We have a detailed database tracking our referrals and always do our best to get back to each and every candidate. I went through the referrals for the past two months and was unable to find a referred candidate, or any candidate, who I had not responded to directly. This also strikes me as odd because this is not how I, or Quest Groups operates business. I would never want to put the career path in jeopardy of any candidate in any sector especially in the sense of “shoving a candidate down their throat.” Again I appreciate the correspondence and would welcome a conversation to rectify the situation and your perception of our business practices.

I’m an honestly hoping this is true misunderstanding and not an erroneous complaint that anyone can post.

Defamation—also called calumny, vilification, traducement, slander (for transitory statements), and libel (for written, broadcast, or otherwise published words)—is the communication of a statement that makes a claim, expressly stated or implied to be factual, that may give an individual, business, product, group, government, or nation a negative image. It is usually a requirement that this claim be false and that the publication is communicated to someone other than the person defamed.

Thank you,
