Stay away
I am going to be brief…this review is really for those of you who are considering going to them for a jump-start in the modeling/acting industry. All I can say is: STAY AWAY. The people who work there are like robots who have obviously memorized, rehearsed, and recited a SALES PITCH! I have been in the modeling industry for over ten years and have worked with fantastic photographers (those who have worked with celebrities and for “VOGUE” and Oscar de la Renta to name a few) so I have a hard time believing that OST has photographers that can come close to competing with them! But they told me that I would have to still pay the fee and use their photographers. NO agency will ask for money up front. They claim that they are NOT a modeling or talent agency…if that’s the case then where do they get off trying to take money from people trying to break into the business? A REAL agency will be selective with their talent.Upon arrival to my “interview” I felt a red flag go off when I got ushered into a waiting room like cattle. The one-on-one meeting was also a joke and they tried to get me to return the next day; NO THANK YOU. I feel like they take advantage of people who have dreams for themselves or their children to become actors or models. I am almost 100% sure that the person I met with spoke fast b/c she knew I had experience (based on the 2 lines they give you to name your previous experience)and knew that I wouldn’t be returning and that I knew it was a scam.
Dont be fooled by sanabel billan
Scam doesn't even describe it. I met with this "talent coordinator" sanabel billan, probably a decoy name.
She asked me some basic questions to attempt to lend herself credibility in perpetrating a real agent.
I asked if she was going to set me up for acting / modeling interviews for jobs, she said yes.
I asked if she was looking for money from me, she said no.
All lies!
Sanabel billan is a miss - leading, lying, deceptive, conniving and immoral ###!
I want my 1, 000$ back you stole from me!
Don not trust one source talent! They are a scam!

Does nothing you can't do yourself
No agency in the country, (or whatever they want to call themselves), that claims they are trying to actually help you get started in the entertainment industry will only insist you go to just one photographer in the whole city! In fact, any legitimate agency will give you a list of working photographers they have cleared and then let you decide who you want to work with. But One Source Talent only recommends one person in each city they have an office in because they get kick backs from that photographer from the referral. All they do is scam young talent in order to make money. I recommend to any person trying to get into the industry, that they go directly to a reputable model or acting agency, (Ford, Elite, Wilhelmina, Click, Commercials Unlimited, CAA... I guarantee they give you a list of photographers and they don't get kick backs! I've worked in the business for over 30 years.
Ripoff Don't pay Them
OST is a ripoff after going to their so called in office talent serch?. I was told they thought I had what it took to make it, but i would have to pay the $495|.(DON'T EVER PAY UP FRONT)If an agencie wants you to pay upfront run as fast as you can in the other direction;. They called me everyday for a week before they got my money;. After I paid them I never talked to anyone other than a secutary, . They were always with a new "COW".. They will sign anybody no matter what you look like or how terrible an avtor you are?. They just want that $495 after that forget about talking to them or getting any kind of actting job.
I agree they took my money too.they ask me for $498.00.i only had $220.00 they said they was go still take my headshot and work with me.when i came back to take my headshot.they said that they can't do it, because i need the rest of my money.so i ask for my money back and they said no.im just praying for them people over there.God go deal with them better than i can.if you reap good you saw good.you reap bad and you get bad.and that company is bad.
Predatory Company
One Source Talent is a SCAM. I applied for an audition online. They called and said they wanted to see me, and they wanted me for a role...though they had never even seen what I look like, nor did they know anything about my exprience. I went to the meeting and met with some "casting director" and she said things like "Your Cute! " and "Your so sweet"...then she told us that I needed headshots but they had to be taken by their photographer and it would cost up to 500 dollars for the photo shoot. Then she'd run me through the system every 13 months and call me IF i got a job. Also, if I signed with them it would be 40 dollars a month even if I never got a job. one word..SCAM.

Thanks, they seemed like they wanted my daughter, cause they called twice and they said when do you want the appointment. All I can say is that in not gonna send my daughter there! If you know any LEGIT modeling/ acting agencies, email me keratidwell@yahoo.com
Thanks,
Indeed. I responded to an ad that said. " Casting for Shoot in Studio City, Extra's 450 a day at end of shoot". Said I had to fill out a form on-line. Was called next day...Instant "bell" for me was the ...This is your "conformation number" Because this is NOT AVALIBLE TO THE PUBLIC...eh?...not avalible to the public huh...What am I?...i'm not "the public"...You could also hear what sure sounded like a boiler room to me in the backround...Very poor guys...I'm not wasting a drop of gas, or anymore of my time with garbage like this. Never pay anything up front. Am amazed folks actually went down for the "interview". People are desprate BIG time i guess...sad...very, very sad.
Thank you sooo much! I will be canceling both interviews for my two daughters. We had them schedules for Saturday. Who can afford that kind of expense in this economy? Sounds like a scam to me too
How dare you scam people!!!
Out of all the years i've been in this world i have never had anything like this happen to me. I read all the blogs and please beleive that this is true. Do you think the scank would have told me that she tripple billed me? Ofcourse not but thats ok i got some of my money back from the other side. Wow it's unbeleivable how they make people come from all...

One Source Talent is a completet fraud! (Dallas Office) Kaylee is Head attitude in charge and some short non intimadating guy who really wants to be a female by the name of Luis, more than sure he got job just because of his vainness if thats a word. Ask for 495.00 set up fee and additonal 39.00 a month after talking alot of jibberious. I walk out! Really hope many people dont fall for this scam. A few girls had appts aftr me and called and I told them the 411. Thank god I save @ least 3 people from wasting additional time. I pray that eventually they will be closed down due to their taking advantage of people not being knowledgeable of the cut throat industry! Good luck to you all and be aware!

gotta be careful. so many fakes trying to scam new talent. glad you weren't a victim
Huge scam
To Whom It May Concern: The below is the letter that I wrote to One Source Talent, they are a huge scam and I will continue to blog, until justice is serviced.
I am requesting a full refund of the $495 and also the monthly website fee; as I previously discussed with Marissa and Nancy regarding my issues. When I got home, I immediately started investigating your organization. I realized not only am I very unhappy with your overall reviews and reputation but my pictures that were placed on your site are far from professional and do me no justice. Furthermore, my measurements were never taken.
Both during the presentation and interview the following day, One Source Talent made your organization sound as if you were an agency. Then as I proceeded to look further at the casting calls, there were only three MI-based open positions and the others were out of state and/or non-paying jobs. I understand it takes time and hard work to build up a resume, but the representation of your booking department is misleading. I was also told I would know when or if I would be submitted for opportunities.
Marissa told me she would email me open opportunities and/or I could personally speak with the booking department, then I was told that person that I needed to speak with already went home. Nancy from Customer Care did call me back and advised me to send this fax to get my issue resolved civilly.
I talked to my attorney and contacted the Better Business Bureau and their suggestion was to make sure I contacted your organization and insist on a full refund. Michigan's Right to Refusal is within a three-day grace period for a fully entitled refund. I was not looking for overnight fame and understand there is no guarantee, but the $495 caught me off guard and this is just not something that I feel is right for the starting point of my future career.
Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions.
I went to OST agency yesterday (Dallas, TX Office). They were extremely nice. Had my first interview, and was asked to come back. I asked them about any cost, and was told there wasn't any by the front desk girl as I was leaving. Came back for my second interview, and was told the director absolutely loved my look, and how marketable it was. THEEEN all of a sudden, "Sign this contract, How would you like to pay today" PAY? I was told there isn't...No there's a $500 start-up fee plus $39.99 a month. In other words. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, OR MONEY FOR THIS SCAM COMPANY! PLEASE!
Thank you so much, this helps me SO MUCH you have no idea. I was going to call those idiots and sign up for an appt. Now I see their leader is a doof. Thanks so much.
This is the phone number of one of the scam artists. They won't answer to you unless you don't reach out to them and call them on their cell phones. This was the only way I got my money back. Good luck.
Sanable Billan - One Source Talent: [protected]
They said the exact samething to me, they are a big rip off and all they want is your money, and whn my mom was asking questions about why is she just being informed about this money and such things like that they got an attitude with us and kicked us out because we were asking very simple questions. the are fraudulent !
Scam
I could tell you all about how BAD One Source Talent is but if you check and read this site you will see that it's more, Bad than good, and everything is true! let"s face it if your an aspiring actor or a parent you want to get there and fast, So you'll try anyone who's giving you the chance it's only human to do it. When your a parent and everyone is saying your child is so cute they should be in modeling or on tv. There are companies that will take your MONEY! Why not? your willing to give it to them in hopes of a dream. People You have to work for it and they should too. This Place is a Big SCAM and should be put out of business cause when you have wanna be actors and hard working peolpe in a room. And there telling you that they can make it happen for you is wrong. All that money you can put towards yourself in photos and classes, no one wants to hear that cause they just want it Now. However you could sometimes get it, by looking in Backstage/Ross reports all the legitiment agencies are there! find Agents that have been around FOREVER why? because they know what they are doing and they work with all the top companies, Submmit photos with a self addressed stamped envelope and if they like you, they'll call you in. Be prepared with extra photos, Comps. Your on your way it's time to be ready! the agents don't have time to play with you, Everyone wants it too! Follow these instructions and you'll be fine. GOOD LUCK TO ALL.
After doing a little back tracking and research, I came across some other sites for scams and One Source happens to be on. But by looking at the bottom of the site you'll see / one source .com even on face book where you may notice that everything is one source and everything is positive and everybody is working and been with the company for years. If you really look close you'll notice something is not quiet right. One source has bought up other sites to counter at the negative against them. So you will see for every bad report it's three positive and happy long time worker, but look up the jobs they got and it's some extra in a commerical or film it says they did a job for MTV with a little clip and maybe a mag ad. No real positive legit work that you could tell some about or a agent could see you in and want to hire you for. there facebook ad does'nt even look real. if you don't believe it, go on yourself and compare them to the real Agents. get Backstage hand book or go online to backstage.com to get all you need. If you pull up there name /scam.

Dear Readers,
I applied for an interview with One Source Talent. The next day they contacted me stating that they would like me to come in for an interview. I was so excited not knowing that this was a piece of crap. I came in looking as professional as i can be the lady tells my mom that i was 10 minutes early so come back at 6:30. We came back at 6:30 and we looked at how the lady was dressed and she had a strapless dress on with high heels and her boobs were coming out the dress. The lady gave us a registration form to fill out and then we had to go squeeze into a room with like hundred people in there. We all tried to look as best as we could. A man started calling our names and he told us to stand outside a room to take my photo. First of all they need something called a "professional camera" . They took my picture and then i had to go back into that room with a television and a man standing in the middle of the room with some photos of successful people. Aw Diamond White this Diamond White That. All they talked about was her. The guy said that were going to get intervewied and it is going to be quick. It was not quick they were slugs. When it was my turn Ms.Farron asked me some stupid questions and then she said that i need to come back because she likes me. I was really happy and then when the final interview came i was worried. Worried about being scammed! I saw this lady named Sannabelle and she was really nice. She told me i sing like Diamond white I am pretty and i am more mature than other girls. I was happy until the money had to come out. She told my mom that she had to pay 40 dollars every month and my mom was OK with that. But then she started talking about Rex the photographer. My mom's mouth dropped when she saw the prices. Sannabelle wanted my mom to get the 658 dollar package and my mom denied it. We walked out the room empty handed knowing that a burden was lifted off my shoulder. I just ask One source Talent stop scamming for money.

I worked at One Source Talent Agency for a few years, they send you classes to attend, & auditions periodically.
My problem is I received a lead in a movie. It would had been my first lead movie, but as we were recording the director turned off the camera & changed into his robe and underwear. He pulled his stuff out and told me to touch/suck it. I walked off the set. I was told to keep it confidential by the director.
That was the last audition I went on.
Guys! They accepted me to be a movie star the got $800 from me my dad was like its fine! but then when they called me to Philadelphia from NY, i went but they said that i wasn't ready! But the guy sent me an email to come there was nothing about replies in the email! so there interest is to get mones from people! DONT TRUST THEM! THEY TELL YOU YOUWILL BE AN ACTOR BUT THEY LIE! THEY ARE F''CING STUPID!
How can this be alowed?
I had an interview with them, It's a total scam.
You shouldn't have to pay anything to be art of a real agency.
That they take from 10 to 20 % comission if you book a job isthe standard but YOu shouldn't have to pay $395 to open up an acct and then 39, 99 monthly to keep it going.
COMPLETE SCAM!

I was online recently, when I came across what appeared to be a modeling job. It was very specific for what they were looking for. I met the criteria so, I submitted my photos and received a call on Tuesday. They said they were One Source Talent, yet I don't recall seeing that in the modeling "job post". The woman was more excited on the phone than me, and instantly wanted to schedule an appointment. She didn't ask me any real questions about myself, or my experience. She asked me if I could come in Wed, but before I was willing to agree to an evaluation, I asked her specifically if there were "any upfront fees what so ever?" She told me "no, nothing like that, they are a casting company" So I agreed to meet for the "Evaluation" I waited around for hours in a room with about 20-30 people. A young woman came into the room turned off the tv and she began talking about the company. She shared success stories, pictures and most importantly told everyone that they wanted "serious people" and if you were not serious you can just leave. Yet she still didn't mention the huge fees they were planning on sharing after they wasted some more of my time. She called people back for a head shot and asked me personal question about my body. Bra size etc. I still was under the illusion this was a legit company with no upfront fees. She claimed to like me and invited me back Thurs for an "interview". I agreed came back, and waited in an over-crowded lobby with not enough chairs for everyone. Finally after waiting around for an hour and a half (after they told me to arrive early) I was called to a back office. A woman admitted to being a "former model" asked me several job related questions. Her office was dim and creepy looking. She told me they would let me know if I would be accepted into their company and made me wait in her creepy office for 30 to 40 minutes more minutes. I had to pee but waited for her to come back. Finally she came back and told me I fit the criteria they were looking for and told me I would have to pay $495 upfront plus $40 a month for a website I don't need. I own my own website, online and I don't even pay $40 so why where did they get that number from, but anyway, I asked her why was I asked to pay upfront when I asked if there were any fees. She told me " Oh the girls that call you back don't tell you about any fees." Like that was suppose to be okay, or something. Today is Friday and I will be having my lawyer call them back. I'm planning on getting as many people as we can who have been a victim of One Source Talent. If you're interested in getting involved please email me at elitebusinessminds@gmail.com
OK, let’s look at the pros and cons here...some of the MANY people that come to this location gets picked by the company that is looking for someone. (1 out of every 200)...they don't do ###...all they do is put your own pictures on their database and they let your own pictures work for themselves. Then you have to pay them up front $495.00 and on top of that they want 39.99 or 29.99 every month...I can create a company like that and charge 1/2 the price and let the customer pictures sell themselves also and become rich on people that think they have what it takes. Look at it this way, they don't refuse NO ONE because they want your money and no where they will grant you a money back warranty or a Guarantee that an agent will pick you for even as an extra in a short movie or anything by the time you get tired of not getting any work from them they have already made thousands of dollars from you. I'm speaking about the location in New York and if you do go there, they will make you wait and what they don’t consider is that your parked at a garage across the street at $20.00 an hour so if your there for 3 hours and you decide not to accept their payments your already in for $60 parking fee. So people. If you want to get into the industry, look for a real agent that will find you work. all that agent does is look for work to give you and all they charge is from 10 to 15% of your earnings, no money up front needs to be given like this piece of crap company...mark my words, if you have gone to this location and you see your money going, going, gone and not received any work...you will remember my words and please pass them along. If they remove my post, I will bring it back again and again until the people see what I am saying is true. GOOD RULE OF THUMB; ANYBODY WHO ASKS YOU FOR MONEY UP FRONT FOR MODELING OR ACTING ARE A SCAM.
Thank You
isn't*
Explore Talent is One Source Talent. ^ Sign with One Source spend your $500 you don't mind shoving out and then come back and ###.
First off you guys are all a bunch of ###s. $400-900 for professional photo headshots, and packages are actually normal. If you want you can go to olan mills and waster your time making yourself look like you did in your highschool photo or prom. That's pathetic and that's the real scam
I went to my own Photographer myself, and got the shots, i had 3 shots done and it cost me $200. so $400-900 is really good deal.
Secondly, if you have your ###, your photos together you don't need to pay them
Thirdly, anyone going into acting, better realize your going to have to make a large investment. This is where people get scared and start thinking it's a scam, it's not. It takes money and time.
And for the idiot who says casting directors don't just take you based off pictures? YES THEY DO!
Every audition i got, was because they were looking for a certain look. Yes it does help to have some background in acting like some work, but not everyone does, and everyone has to start someplace! So quit your ### and whining, and get to work.
Go work out and train like an athlete, lose the weight, get healthy, take care of your skin, go take acting lessons (they also cost about $[protected] for a few weeks. BUT YOU NEED IT!
You think your going to take your meesley $40 a month, no professional headshots, and just some cam photos you took of yourself, that shows no color, no detail or definition, with no aspect of background imaging, or any contrast, and become famous?
Get a ###ing grip! You have to apply yourself harder than anyone other person. Your all competing for the same goal. Just like a job interview.
I am with Exploretalent.com they even cost more, but i am getting auditions, even though i previously had no experience.
The point is, they will tell 1000 people to go for the same role, because thats the best thing, but trust me, if you been to an audition you know you have to work harder!

i totally think this is a scam for all you people that really want to get into the acting business do some research first . this is my story. i applied for one source talent in the internet i waited like 2 days and they called me saying all this bull. about how they want chu to go i was so happy because of course my dream is to be on the acting bussiness, we go blind from happiness that we dont see the reality, anyways i went to the apointmet i had and i got there 15 minutes late because i live far from los angeles, once i got there the lady was pissed off she told me all mad that i was 20 minutes late and that i could never do that again, they made me fill this application, and then my moms friend was with me so they told her she couldnt be there only a parent, i guess because me and my mom were gonna be so excited about all the bull. they said that my mom friend was gonna be able to notice it was a scam unlike us . So they made me go inside this room where they were you would watch a concert from beyonce, they called my name i went in there the girl asked me a few questions and then she told me she saw potential in me and that she wanted me to come back, i went back the next day, i went inside this room and they gave me this paper were i had to practice some lines and then read them out loud, i did and the girl asked me a few questions but she kept covering the paper and i would try to see if she was writing and what she was writing but she just wouldn't let me . She said she was going to go discuss with the other people if i was going to do my comp card t, she took some measurements and then she came back a few minutes later saying that they wanted me to do my comp card and all that stuff, she handed out this paper but she just would let me read it she kept talking about it and i just didn't have time to read it because my mom only speaks english so i had to translate, i kept wanting to read the paper but i didn't wa to be rude obiously so i just looked her in the eye, she told me we had to pay 495.00 and 39.00 monthly, my mom didn't care about the money because of course she wants my dream to come true but my mom doesn't believe in all this stuff from the beginning she knew it was a scam but we all know we want this so badly to be true we don't believe it's a scam . Anyways i said if i had to sign and come back another day with the money and the lady said that we couldn't leave because that day was the only day they were going to be making the photo shots but we all know that's not true, that's when i started questioning everything, i told her we didn't have any money at the moment that if she could just give me 3 hours to go home get the money and come back she totaly got pissed off and said that i couldn't that if i wanted to at least to leave some money like 100 dollars i said i didn't have that money because my mom didn't bring any money she got mad and she said she was going to go talk bout it with her boss to see if she can do anything bout it, she came back and told me to go home and get the money and come back, i got home and me and my mom decided not to pay because fortunaly for us her best friend works on this television company and he's going to talk to his friend and she knows a lot of people that can get me into acting so i just decided to go that way . The lady called me back and said that if i was going to pay i said i wasn't she got mad and said that i could apply again in six months or a year . Everyone out there ignore this company is a waste of time and money, hope this helps and im so sorry for the people that actually payed and got scam
Whew...you all just saved me a ton of money. I was just called to set up the first appointment for my son. NO way! So sorry for the rest of you who did get pick pocketed :(
I just got a call from this agency to go in for an interview, sounded like a man with a ghetto accent, I told him that I was busy now I will call you back, he got angry and told me off, sounds like a scam don't fall a victim to these crooks, stay away fr0m one source talent.
I AGREE THAT OST IS A SCAMMMMMMM! NO BUSINESS CAN CHARGE A FEE FOR A SERVICE THEY HAVE NOT PROVIDED. THE PHOTO SHOOT FEE IS ONE SERVICE THEY GET YOU TO PAY FOR, THE MONTHLY WEBSITE FEE IS ANOTHER WAY SERVICE. BUT WE ACTUALLY WANT JOBS FROM THESE PICS AND WEBSITE EXPOSURE. JUST GO TO THE SAG WEBSITE AND LOOK UP A REPUTABLE AGENCY, IF YOUR GOOD THEY WILL WORK WITH YOU FOR FREE..
To the person that keeps on saying this company is great I would like to say a few words to you. First of all this is a bs company. Lawsuit will be taking place very very soon and I hope that you are there so I could sue you for everything you got. You think it's right to take 495.00 from people? You got another thing coming. I ask anyone that has been scammed with this stupid company send me an email with your info. Let's hit this company where it hurts.. The pockets...jetonetheleskid@yahoo.com. Also again to that person get your legal team ready.
I emailed a photo of my son to the agency, and within a few hours they called back. I was really excited and flattered at the quick response. I must admit that whomever they got to do their website did a really good job at making it beleivable and making you think that they really are the real deal. Adding the link for all of there current "castings" was brillant, because that is really what sold me on them being creditable. My first tip that they were jive really was the email confirmation that I received regarding my sons appt. It had all kinds of grammatical errors in it! Anyway I decided to still take him, even bought him a new outfit to wear. When we got arrived at the office there were about 30 or so other people waiting to go be seen too. Since we were early I decided to wait in the car. While we were waiting I had the brilliant idea to look them up online for reviews (wish I had thought of that before I left the house!). My stomach absoultely dropped when I began reading the horrible reviews for the company, but I decided to check them out anyway since we drove all that way and my son was so excited. They took us in and had us all in a waiting area filling out paperwork and watching a movie. About 15 minutes in the director comes in, Sanabel was her name. Sanabel was a petite 20ish woman who spoke fast and was on the nasty side. Honestly if I hadn't read the reviews she would have turned me off anyway with the rude, [censored]y and rather demeaning manner that she spoke to us in. She mentioned very, very quickly about the $498 fee for photos and the $40 a month maintenace fee. She also mentione towards the end how she knows we value our time and how she values hers even more, so for us to please not waste it! I thought to myself that if they really valued folks time they should mention their fees on the website, because I assure you that half the folks who turn up to these things would not! After her spill I pretty much knew I wasn't going to go through with it, but did not want to disappoint my son by abruptly walking out. I went through with the interview and the girl who interviewed my son was overly perky and full of crap. What's funny is Sanabel mentioned something about everyone not getting invited back for a second interview, namely if they didn't stand out and display "star potential". Well, as much as I love my kid, he froze up and went into straight turtle-shy kid mode. Even as his mom I can admit that nothing about him stood out at all in that interview. But guess what! After a 30 second interview the perky girl claims she saw a star in him...umm, what she saw was dollar signs. She scheduled for him to come back the next day for another meeting aka 'the shake down", but guess what? That's the last they ever heard or saw from me! Soooooo glad I didn't get taken for a ride by these folks! The only thing I lost was time and a few bucks on gas. Please don't waste your time with this place!
I just "signed' with them yesterday. I wish I had read these reviews before paying the $500. I'm hoping that I can book some work so that it's not a complete waste of time and money. I guess I figured if I booked two or three promo model events it would be worth it. I have a third interview in 2 weeks and I will be printing this forum out to show them. I'm just going to try and make the best of it I guess. :(
@ VG89 your story is the exact same as mine my experience went the same way just where ever you had a man it was a woman and where ever you a woman it was a man. I was praying like you and not realizing I was being scammed. "the devil wears prada was playing everything like you explained it. I told them I didin't have $495.00 told me the same thing about applting for a year. i told to someone legal companies and they told me if a company if interested in you. You never have to spend any money they will invest in you. What a scam and people are crazy they fall for it. No thank you when it's my time to shine God will make a way.
OST has 8 offices and showing 3 more to open up. With the amount of applicants they must get on a daily basis seeking to be models and/or actors, I would say having one or two people go through applications and call would be extremely difficult to do. One can only assume that a company this big (like any other company that has a lot of customers and a need to grow to meet the customers need), they would need more than one person to them out. And to all who keep calling OST an agency, please do your research well. One Source Talent has never claimed to be an agency nor do they state they are an agency.
Go to their site and check them out in detail. They have been doing this since 2003 and have done a great deal for many people! They help provide you with opportunities (and no they do NOT book you the opportunity because it is ultimately up to the casting director/agency if they want to work with you or not). OST is a company that helps you get your foot through the door and get started. Does this mean that each and every person that signs up is guaranteed to become some superstar that gets opportunities left and right each and every month? That's like saying if you create a resume and place it on Careerbuilder. com or Monster. com then you are guaranteed to get a call from an employer looking to hire you. It doesn't work that way. It is going to take a lot of time. Research people who have made it to the industry and how long/what it took for them to get to where they are today. It did not happen overnight and the main thing they worked on is getting exposure and lots of different opportunities to get to the right one!
One Source Talent is a shady business. i currently work for them. Lets go over the process on how we 'select' people to come in our office.
"Hello may I please speak to (so and so)? His this is Alexia calling with OneSource Talent how are you? The reason I am calling today is my office director recently reviewed your application you submitted us and saw you were interested in modeling. After checking out your application my office director feels that it would be nice to have you come in for an interview." Now how do we get to this process?
1st. Our 'Office Director' never sees your application at all. Your application is submitted online and a separate office called our 'New Faces' AKA Call Center. Calls you. There is a 'script' that we read to you to get you to come into our office. Once you setup an appointment then our office director sees your application. So right off the bat we are lying to you.
2nd. We also have a specific way to get people in who say we are a 'scam' or a fraud or are fake ;-)
3rd. Once you come in you sit in a conference room and our office director goes over a presentation about our company, about the industry, ect. There will be a movie on usually 'The Devil Wears Prada' or some other movie that is about modeling, acting, or something along the lines of that.
4th. You then get to talk to our office director one on one and answer any questions. Once you come in my office director immediately decides if we want you or not. If not you are asked to leave and we will give you a call back if we are interested (you walk out a separate door). If you are asked to stay we want you to come back for a second interview. Meaning you are pretty enough for us to want and that we want you for your money and to come back in.
You may have herd this. "We are certified by the Better Business Bureau." Are we? NO NOT AT ALL. In fact our company got a C+ rating from them and at the top of the page clearly says "This Business is not BBB Accredited." We have a total of 47 complaints!
Now have people had success with us? Of course and I'm glad to see all the success stories on this page. Would I 'trust' us? Not at all. The HQ building where I work is shady. The top officials are shady, the people I work with a lot are shady.
How do I get paid? I get paid by 1st getting you to schedule an appointment. But, that is only half of the story. I only get a 'bonus' if you book an appointment AND come in. if you do not I do not get my bonus and just get my hourly salary (minimum wadge). Our call 'quota' is anywhere from 200 to 250 people per 8 hour shift. And our 'goal' is to have about 24% of those people scheduled to come in and out of that AT LEAST 8% or higher to show up.
What we do to your 'online application? Well if you answer great! We try and 'Schedule Open Call' to book you an appointment. If not we make you as a 'No Answer' and then call you the next day. If you do not answer within 5 calls we mark you as a 'Stale Lead'. If you submit multiple applications we mark them except one as 'Duplicate Application'. If you have a phone number that is not working or no longer in service or because you got jipped by us we put 'Wrong Number We Will Call Back" and call you in a month after you get some money to pay your phone bill.
So are you guys a scam? I can't exactly say we are a 'scam'. Just a very shady business. I remember a couple friends in junior high say they got ripped off a lot of money by them and either found no work or were not casted for anything or were treated badly. If you are interested I would go to the interview and ask questions like 'Why did 'Michael' call me one day and then 'Janelle' call me the next and then 'Ashley' finally schedule my appointment?' and 'Why are you guys on the BBB website listed as NOT CERTIFIED?' Good luck to all and just be careful.

Re: Kristina Gaston
Mr. Toma:
You report to the public One Source Talent is a consulting service for the fashion and acting communities. Your company summary suggests the goal of One Source Talent is to create cost-effective, working relationships between talent and clients via its interactive network. Your company also suggests it has talent and client benefits with real-time access and submissions to nation-wide castings and auditions, an interactive composite card for all digital and traditional submissions, a personal email account, industry workshops, “meet n’ greets”, a commission free environment and a benefit program from select businesses in each market. A searchable database of talent with detailed characteristics, a commission free service, a detailed talent evaluation process to ensure they are getting dedicated people and a corporate staff with years of industry knowledge and contacts.
You suggest One Source Talent mission is to help make the modeling and acting communities easily accessible from all ends of the entertainment industry, from talent, to clients, to agents, to casting companies; allowing for established and new talent to be discovered and hired quickly, and cost effectively.
In addition, your company reports underlying the mission is the determination to seek new and creative ways of addressing all several parts, while holding a deep respect for individuals inside and outside the company, and for the communities of which we are a part. The values of your company, from your viewpoint, state personal honesty, integrity, commitment to working together - with openness and trust; empowering others and respecting differences; encouraging risk-taking and responsibility; enjoying our work and our families.
Finally, your company suggests you are dedicated to providing the best service possible; that you are talent and client centered; that you are committed to working in partnerships, holding yourselves accountable for quality results, and are dedicated to financial integrity and cost-effectiveness.
Sir, I beg to differ with your company’s summary statement, talent and client benefits, integrity and honesty clause and values and principles statement.
My daughter, Kristina Gaston, has suffered a tremendous loss of integrity and possible modeling career opportunities with your Chicago office. I challenge the honesty, dignity and integrity of your Chicago based office. Kristina has not received one call from any perspective opportunities for modeling. In order for a perspective opportunity to arise, the agency or company would have to know Kristina’s One Source Talent ID number. There is no exposure by your company that would bring a perspective opportunity. In addition, Kristina would have to have suitable photos to demonstrate her beauty. The “professional” pictures, contracted by your company do not meet the requirements or standards your company claims to promote.
On or about August 16, 2007 my wife and I entered into a contractual agreement with One Source Talent to acquire photos and promotion of Kristina’s talents. Our cost was $595.00 for “professional” photos. Kristina’s photo shoot was scheduled for September 5, 2007. Kristina’s One Source Talent ID# is 20526. Kristina is 13-years-old. The results were not that of a 13-year-old.
I asked Carmen Martinez, your Chicago office representative, what would we get for $595.00? We were told by Carmen that we would get a 4-hour photo shoot, make-up artist and a portfolio. My wife escorted Kristina to the photo shoot. It lasted about an hour and a half. Carmen also told us we had to produce our own copies for the portfolio, from the photos taken by your “professional” photographer.
When my wife and I got the results of Kristina’s photos, I was appalled and disgusted. Most of the shots were over exposed. Kristina’s hair style did not change as her clothing was changed. The make-up was over the top, such as too much eyeliner and a heavy coating of facial foundation with a heavy coating of lipstick making her look 23-years-old instead of 13-years-old. In some pictures, Kristina had pearls on making the shots look like glamour photography. It appears as if Kristina was not professionally guided through the pictures either.
The lighting used for her photo shots created shadows, which made the shots bad or too hot; where if the lighting were appropriate we would have had a normal exposure. Kristina’s skin color and tone is not as light as some of the photos portrayed. If you want to see “true color” in “your” professional photos look at the shots taken by your photographer of Kristina’s mother, which were 3 shots and only because she was standing there with Kristina. We paid your company for professional photos. We did not pay for photos to be cropped and photo shopped.
The framing and/or composition were bad. There were many things in the photos that were distracting to Kristina’s look and photo shoot, such as window sills, wooded walls, telephone wires, etc. This photographer, if professional, should know what is in the frame of the picture before it is taken. When engaging in your process, we presented a photo disc to Carmen done by FBP DeSign Group, Inc. (http://www.fbpdesigngroup.com/) with make-up done by Marcus Geeter (http://www.marcusgeetermakeupartist.com/). This photo disc far exceeded your company’s demonstration of Kristina with excellence, distinction and quality.
When we left the disc from FBP DeSign Group, Inc. with Carmen she reported to us the pictures were unacceptable and not professional enough for your company, suggesting the background was the same in all the pictures. The first series of shots taken by your company’s “professional” photographer has the same background in most of its photos. In addition, your company’s photos displayed some sort of fabric or sheet in the background that had creases in it displaying where the sheets had been folded. This did not look professional at all. A professional photographer should know what is in the frame of a picture before the picture is taken.
To add insult to injury, on November 7, 2007 my wife called the person who reports she is the manager in your Chicago based office, Jessica, attempting to explain the above. Jessica made my wife feel insulted, minimizing our concerns. My wife reports Jessica stating “Oh, those pictures can get your daughter a job. If the pictures can get my daughter a job, demonstrate this to us.
My wife called me at work asking me to explain the above to Jessica.
On November 7, 2007 I called Jessica explaining the above. Jessica told me my thoughts about “professional” photography were my daughter sitting on Santa Claus’ lap. I was so insulted and aghast by Jessica’s response to my concerns, as I spoke in a professional voice, it prompted me to write this letter to you; also posting this letter on my websites at http://click.townhall.com/ and http://clickforjusticeandequality.blogspot.com/ for public viewing. People need to know what One Source Talent really offers, with your unprofessional staff.
Therefore, considering my statements and your company’s mission, value and integrity statements, could you please respond giving me some insight into how we can satisfy each others need for a good product and sale of my daughters attributes with an opportunity of work.
If the pictures your company sponsored and produced through your “professional” photographer are as good as Carmen and Jessica claim, put my daughter’s pictures on One Source Talent’s opening website page for public viewing like you have similarly situated individuals who you feel need promoting first and/or get her some work. This would prove out Carmen and Jessica’s theory that your pictures are better than the pictures I presented to your company for your website from FBP DeSign Group, Inc. and Marcus Geeter. It may also prove Jessica’s beliefs and thoughts that my vision of good professional pictures is those taken with my daughter sitting on Santa Claus’ lap. This was a very sarcastic statement made by your professional manager. It tells us a lot about your company. The staff of a company, is the company.

Update: November 12, 2007
Jessica from One Source Talent called suggesting Kristina, my wife and I sit down to talk about possibly getting another photo shoot. We will sit with her to discuss this letter and Kristina's future in modeling.
Update: December 1, 2008
Kristina has not received a call from One Source Talent in months. One Source Talent has been debiting a monthly fee from my wife's bank account every month. My wife has been requesting information on why there has been no work for our daughter. There has been no response. Finally, my wife has been verbally calling and requesting One Source Talent cancel our contract and stop the monthly fee for Kristina's account. The contract has not been nullified and the fee has not stopped. One Source Talent continues to debit the fee from my wife's account with no accountability for acquiring work for our daughter.
My wife has been told that she must submit a writing to One Source Talent requesting to stop this fee. My wife and I called her bank requesting the One Source Talent debit stopped. To our amazement, our bank cannot stop the One Source Talent debit to her account because it is a debit to her bank account. My wife's bank reports the only way my wife can stop the One Source Talent debit is to cancel her debit card and order a new one. Therefore, my wife will cancel her current debit card and order a new debit card from her bank just to stop this debit by One Source Talent.
I would suggest to anyone who gets involved with One Source Talent or any other business or entity who insist on a monthly or weekly fee being taken from a bank account to have that fee taken from their bank's routing and bank account number, not by way of a debit to their account.
If a person takes this action, you will avoid having to cancel a debit card or your account to stop payment to a company who is not providing the service you require.
I believe One Source Talent has not provided our daughter with work because of our complaint to management and my posting the writing below on my blogs. When I wrote this complaint to Anthony Toma, Founder, President and CEO of One Source Talent in November of 2007, I had 2 blogs. I now have 4, and will re-post this complaint on all of them.
When I wrote and posted this complaint on my blogs I received a call from Mr. Toma thinking our daughter would get "real" work. I took this writing off my blogs because of good faith toward One Source Talent. When we wrote this complaint, our daughter was given another photo shooting and an opportunity to be an "extra" in a 15 minute college documentary. There has been no other work. Therefore, I am posting this complaint again on my blogs.
I would highly suggest to parents that if you do not know someone in management, please do not waste your time, money and child's self-esteem on believing one day she or he will succeed in this business. The only way there is success in this business is if you have a personal relationship with the ownership.
One Source Talent is not the way to succeed. I sent this comment to the President and CEO of One Source Talent, Mr. Anthony Toma by way of email. Hopefully, he will be able to facilitate the demise of our contract. My wife will cancel her debit card so that One Source Talent will not be able to take any other monies from her account.

Shame on you, for trying to pass everything off on us. No one in your family has logged into Kristina's account since June. Way to be proactive in helping your daughter reach her potential. I'm going to keep this short since you twisted my words the last time we had an exchange. I have never promised work, we provide a service, we are not an agency.
We submitted your daughter to an assortment of opportunities. If you would have logged into her account like you are supposed to she might have gotten more out of our service.
Blog your heart out, make sure to get your facts in order. You can be held accountable for slanderous comments. No, I'm not an attorney nor have I ever claimed to be. I'm not an attorney and OST is not an agency, got that?
In the meantime, you should know sitting on your Ab Roller will not do your gut any good. You need to do the sit ups if you want results.
Thank you and as I said before you have a very beautiful daughter, don't turn you back on her. She has potential!

Nothing coming down. Everything I have written is a fact. Do what you think you need to do, but in the meantime answering my email acknowledges your receipt of my request to stop taking money from my wife's account.

Have her fax a letter to [protected] as both of you were instructed more than once and the charges will stop.
Twisted fact is what you wrote.
Good Luck Freddy Jr., I'm waiting on the fax from your wife.

I have not been instructed to do anything. I think you need to get your facts straight. I am posting our dialogue through emails on my blogs. This is the end of our story unless you want to pursue your threats of litigation against me.

You really are an idiot. I never threatened you in any way. My opinion is that you could care less about your daughter and you aren't even married to the woman you claim to be your wife.
You don't even share the same last name. You can post all the slanderous comments you want. In the end OST has kept up its end of any agreement we ever made to the woman you claim to be your with and her daughter.
Too bad you dismissed every atemp made by the good people at One Source Talent. Enjoy the rest of year.

What does my marriage have to do with the issues? This statement proves your research sources and statements against me are ludicrous and nefarious. My wife's name is Darlene Bouyer-Nance. Kristina is my step-daughter. Do you want to say something demeaning and disrespectful about Kristina? You mirror your company for sure. There is no integrity or honesty with you or your company. You just proved that here. You need to build on your vocabulary.
Anthony Toma wrote:
You have way too much time on your hands. Oh I got it... why don't you help me expand my vocabulary? If that's not your thing, maybe you can teach me how to extort companies by posting blogs. What do you say? It seems to work for you pretty well, heck! I even fell for it.
I bet if I dig a little more I'll find others that have been victimized by your blogs.
From: Fred Nance Jr.
Tony:
Keep digging. What you will find is a search for truth. Truth seems to evade us because of our belief in pluralism, relativism, pragmatism, extentialism, secularism, etc. I am an advocate for the socially disenfranchised and disadvantaged. What happens to me, happens to many others in our society. I am not an island sitting alone. This is why I alert the public. Informing them there is a way to address your issues without violence and mayhem.
I am not trying or attempting to demean you and others who burden our society with the glamour of one size fits all. For inquiry of truth, a scientific method must be used. This scientific method is based upon a combination of knowledge, which has 2 elements induction and deduction. Induction is observing, viewing, measuring, seeing and hearing, checking out the particulars. Deduction is the application of formal laws of logic and coherency to those particular pieces of investigation. This is what I do.
Therefore, when I encounter situations that negatively impact me or our society, I address them. Some people do not know how to address them. Therefore, they get no redress. You chose to use a word like "extort". I think that was a poor choice. What happens with entities who understand their wrongs is that they compromise and if there is error, they error on the side of "do no harm." These entities arise from the ashes with integrity, honor and truth. In this manner of dialogue and discussion, you agree to disagree.
I forgot to add that you did not fall for anything. Your integrity and honesty surfaced. Did this scare you? Sometimes who we really are fascinates us. Sometimes we find that we are not hallucinating; we are not schizophrenic. We find that we are able to feel someone else's pain.
I Agree 100% One Source Talent is Indeed a SCAM! I wish I was warned and read all these helpful Articles before I made the mistake of signing with them.

To NatalyC: OST is not an agency. You just stated you never actually went through with OST which means you have no idea what their services offer and what they could have possible done for you. You saw that this is not the way you wanted to get started in the industry (understandable, you make the final decision as to how you go about this) but this does not mean you can make a decision as to whether or not their services are good since you did NOT actually use their service. Your comment is that of an opinion only. OST has been around since 2003 so it seems like they are doing something right to have been around for this long and to have 8 offices already! Plus 3 more coming up to open!
It definitely bothers me to see so many comments of people saying OST is a scam and when you read the whole thing.. you find out that they have not used the service at all or used it for ONE month and then left.. and that this is what they are basing their final decision on.
Now to comment on your comment of OST not being BBB accredited: A company does not have to be BBB accredited to be a legit company. Verizon (I'm sure most of you know this is a phone company) is not BBB accredited. Don't believe me? Go here
http://detroit.bbb.org/find-business-reviews/name/verizon/
It clearly states on the column on the right hand side that reads "BBB Accreditation" and it says No.
Also, here is something not many people now about BBB:
"On June 1, 2009, the BBB moved to a new system based on a school-style A-F rating system. The details are mostly confidential, but company officials say it involves 17 factors. They say that one factor, which accounts for four percent of the rating, is "accreditation" or membership. Companies cannot achieve a 100% or A+ rating without paying membership dues, which begin at $350 and go up to $10, 000 for large companies. That aspect has been criticized as biased towards members. One unanswered complaint will cause the business to receive an "F". "
First off, if anyone on here has good comments to say about One Source Talent, then they are either working for the company or are totally ignorant. I PERSONALLY went to thier interview. They had me sign in the beggining and after waiting for what seemed to be about forever, they called me in to take a head shot. The camara was very unprofessional looking. After that they had me go to a room with about 50 people and wait for like another hour untill everyone was seated. A women did a presentation about how they were BBB acredited and how important it is to be with a company that is BBB acredited. Reality check! They are NOT BBB acredited. I will provide you wit a link at the bottom. You will see that they are not. After her presentation she told us that they were going to be interviewing us. It took about another HOUR for them to get to me. It was finally my turn, and they told me that they made it seem like such a big compettion. She said that not everyone was going to be coming back the next day and she made me feel very special about letting me come back the next day. They set my appointment around 2ish and I had to sign in once again and the receptionist told me to have a seat. They had me waiting for another HOUR till they attended me. Which i thought was extremely unprofessional. Finally this girl took pictures of me in the same office i was getting interviewed in next to thier office wall. First off, what kind of professional photographer is that? After that i took a seat in the office until the same lady that interviewed me the previous day interviewed me again. She then told me that it would take her about 10 minutes to make a decision. I waited another HOUR till she finally came in and congratulated me for bieng accepted. They want to make you think that they are actually thinking about considering you, but they are not. They simply want your MONEY. She then showed me a contract which stated that thier was a montly fee of $39.95 PLUS a "one time" payment of $500. Immediately that raised a red flag. They should NEVER charge you ahead of time, before getting you any work. Its all part of thier scam. When I told her i didn't have the money she looked very worried and wanted me to go home and get it that same day. I came home and read about how other people got scammed by them, and I can tell you that I am defitnetly NOT going back to give them my money. For that much money, I can do quite alot on my own. Please people, read online about agencies that are acreddited and that care about your future. But you don't have to take my word for it. Do your research or you can try going to the interview and you will see that what I said is EXACTLY how they do it. Good Luck to you all!
HERE IS THE LINK THAT PROVES THEY ARE NOT ACCREDITED

Fred Nance, thank you so much for posting this! The company's CEO was extremely unprofessional in the way he responded to you because he obviously had nothing to say. Something needs to SERIOUSLY be done about them! They are just pathetic! Thanks once again Fred, for voicing your opinion. It was done very elegantly as well. Everyone go to thier facebook page and post what you feel! They deleted the comment I wrote, but if everyone does it they will not have time to delete everyones, and everyone will know what kind of people they are!
PEOPLE ...PEOPLE...everybody knows that you do NOT need a consultant to become an actor or a model...you need to contact talent agents or modeling agencies and you need GREAT images of yourselves... do your homework...research photographers if you are a model research fashion photographers, beauty photographers and compare their work...for actors search for headshot or portrait photographers. Don't fall for the talkers...just look at their work. And please remember you need to be able to handle rejection on a daily basis! BUT also remember NOBODY knows if you are going to make it or not!
How do I know... I have been an international fashion model and became a photographer. There are a lot of BS artists out there just remember a real model agency will NEVER charge you a signup or monthly fee and same goes for a talent agent...they are all taking a commission (when they book you a job they take 20-30%) and they will set you up with photographers and yes you have to pay the photographer and the makeup artist and pay for prints and pay for your comp card... some agencies front you this money but most will not!
If you want internet representation sign yourself up for sites like modelmahem.com, onemodelplace.com etc...they charge a monthly/yearly fee but you control everything yourself.
goodluck!
From my understanding they are not an agency: http://scamorlegit.info/one-source-talent-reviews/
Thank you for your posting, I KNEW this was a scam by there presentation & told my step-daughter that I would take her else where. Thanks again.

I, too, was contacted this afternoon (July 2010) by One Source Talent, who claimed to have received my request for an appointment with their company. They didn't give me much information over the phone, other then where to go and my "Invitation Number" (which should have been a HUGE RED FLAG). They did say they were looking forward to meeting me and if everything went well, my appointment should take about 45 minutes.
Not remembering anything about this company (or even applying for an appointment with them), I decided to do a little research on them. The website looked professional enough, but I dug a little further, finding this website (along with several others). After realizing that my "appointment" was going to be the beginning of their scam, I'm glad I found this information when I did. It's no wonder they can have a professional looking website when they're charging $500 up front for their "services". I have no doubt that I would have passed the first round (and every other round) of interviews, until they had what they needed - my credit card information.
Thank you, Mr. Nance, for sharing your story with us and not allowing any other innocent folks to get ripped off by the scam known as One Source Talent. I had high hopes for getting involved with the industry, but this is a not-so-gentle reminder that no matter what, you need to be on your toes. There's a sucker born every minute, but with sites like this one, I can make sure I don't become one of those statistics!
One Source Talent just got our money unfortunelly, this month, June 2010 ... we find to late that www.onesourcetalent.com is a BIG SCAM, maybe this guy, Anthony Toma is from East Europe?
Is there a way to get my money back? We just paid with a credit card $495.00 and also sign for the monthly fee $39.95. How I can get my money back? I read a lots of stories from different people and there is not way to get your money back. Until when this scams agecy can play with our kids fellings and our money? Pls, I appreciate any answer.
Many thank you to Mr. Fred Nance, even is late for me to get my money back is means a lots of help for the future, pray to God Mr Anthony Toma to pay for this fraud!
Shame on you Mr TOMA, you are a BIG SCAM in this field!
Thank you for you're posting I had been offered a second "interview" but had my doubts when a few people who had left around the same time I did had all been asked to come back that's when I really had my doubts but I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt. Now since reading this I decided not to waste any more of my time going back. They can kick rocks!
Fraud and cheating
As far as I'm concerned. Of what I have seen. I work at the office and we get calls from major features. We work with a variety of people and we have gotten people amazing work. Your just getting started? Try going out yourself looking for jobs as i have, its hard and you think you don't have to invest in yourself? Thats a complete joke. THINK about it. This is a business, like any other business are you going to have to invest? Of course especially on yourself. I have dealt with nothing but professionalism and as far as I'm concerned i think its funny what people expect. I know because I'm on both sides, i too am an aspiring actress. and as far as I'm concerned a business is a business and even if you are some gorgeous thing and fit model requirements, you think its FREE?!?! That is the funniest thing I've ever heard in my life.

One Source Talent Agency invited me for an interview. They told that they have chosen me out of 50 people. I was so proud about that. After two days they called and offered me a job. But as a rule I used to go for the training courses for a month. It will cost me $300. Please tell me it is not a scam!
I went today to one source talent in L.A. all the blogs that I have read here is spot on they had me go in to a room with at least 20 or 30 other people where this rude gay guy dressed in all black told some poor lady with a young kid who was probable the one there as the potential talent was told where the door was just because the kid was talking to his mom well after that and the rest of his self glorifying speech the 30 or so people and myself were called back one after another for some questions on height and shoe size no measurements were taken like they said they were going to in the e-mail they sent for the "appointment" even though at one point the gay guy had a measuring tape draped around his neck I finely got my turn for my "interview" and was seen buy a stuck up girl that right away wanted to know if I would be able to have my pictures taken by there photographer I told her I have my headshots with me she asked to see them I was told that they weren't good enough even though I had them done by a professional photographer that specializes in commercial headshots at a price much cheaper than the $800.00 they were talking about but I guess its like the girl said to me "how serious I are you about this" hahaha this company or what ever you want to call it and the people that work for it are jokes I just wish I would have read all the stories here before I wasted my time and gas
SCAM! SCAM! ONE SOURCE TALENT IS S*** >:/
My daughter was there today and I called and they answered on the first ring and let me talk to her while she was there...she gave them her $500, so I'm hoping it's legitimate. If it isn't, I'll be letting everyone know.
Ok one source talent called me couple weeks ago took them 2 years to get me.i was to sick to see them they told me to call them when i am feeling better. So i did call them back when i was feeling batter. So they wanted to see me sat 5, 2011. So me, bf and granny drove there took 3 hours to get there. I was so happy that i can do my dream job being a model. So we got there and was 40mins before i was to be there and they ask me to go walk around or something like that because i could not be in the waiting room. *** up right? So went back up a lot of people where their not all that nice looking have to say i was the only good looking on at my age. They took a head shot of me and i had to go back and site down with other people. A lady came out to talk to us and she was in her 20s nice looking and all. Told shores about there talents that got big. So after that i had to wait for them to call me to the back to talk to the lady and see if i have what it takes to me a model. She ask me Q and stuff then she ask me if i couple pay $500 for my comp cards and im like yes i can pay that. Then she told me that she likes my hair and stuff and wanted me to come back today. But something did not feel right about this the $500 and the $40 a month to stay on there web site. I was thinking about it all day Sunday. so i went back to there site and look things over one thing i see that is that they have a BBB (Better Business Bureau) thing on there site so i look them up on BBB and seen that they have a C+ and that is not that good at all most of it was about money so i wanted to no more about one source talent so i did a search on line about them read a lot of stuff for over a hour and found that they cost you more than just $500 need to pay for your pics and makeup and hair to get done. That cost around $2000. They don't really get you jobs like they say they do. I don't have $2500 to give them upfront at all. That is a lot of money if you don't have it and them to tell you they can get you work. I read that they are a scam and in new york there is a lot going with them. So i told my self is it really worth it to lose that much money and not get a job like they said no its not. So im not doing it i feel better but sad to because they had to be a scam to take people money and crush there dreams. I was to see them today for my pics to get done. I hope i did the right thing. I read that a real modeling place douse not make you pay money upfront they take 10% or 20% of what you make.
thanks u guys i have a second interview tomorrow and now im going to tell my mom i don't want to go.
OMG my daughter just filled out the form to go through with OST. Well they called back right away. The lady Rhodonna I was speaking to tried to tell me that we were gonna have to pay for head composites and the money to promote her to people. Well I have been dealing with the acting and modeling for years with my twin boys who are now 5. I know all the stories and scams there are, I told Rhodonna I will not be paying for anything at all. If you want any money to pay for anything you take it out of the commision from when she gets paid for a job. Well she did not like what i had told them. The location that i had spoken to was in Atlanta, Georgia. DO NOT DO NOT GO TO OST AT ALL! THEY ARE BIG SCAMMERS
My twins have been in a Lowes Home Improvement Commercial when they were 7 months old and have done an episode of Law and Order Criminal Intent, not once did I have to put any money out for any promoting or head composites for them. The agent took the money out of the money they had made. That is a legit company you want to deal with not a company that wants to get money upfront for things.
i'm completely disagreeing with the negative reviews above about one source talent. i have friends that are with that company and they love it! First they are not an agency and they even tell you they are not. what they do is they work with clients (castings directors, agencies) and these clients go to them with what they are looking for (model or actor? height, weight, look, maybe certain skills, etc etc) and then then one source uses their database of models/actors to see who fits those criteria and then they submit the ones that meet the criteria. if the director or agency likes the model/actor's look then thats when one source talent tells you that you are being requested for an audition or what not. and then they also have regular castings that put for you to see everyday and you can apply for them yourself.
they don't guarantee you a job or that you will book anything because they cant! no one can do that other than a casting director himself. its like going to careerbuilder.com you can post your resume on there to increase your exposure and increase your chances of getting a job interview. But they cannot guarantee that you WILL get a job interview. and on top of that just because you got the interview does not meant that you GOT the job or nor is careerbuilder.com responsible as to whether or not you get the job. Its how you present yourself and your attitude that matters and in the end its on you as to whether or not you got the position!
I'm disagreeing with the reviews above only because it seems like one person went there, didnt like it and posted it on the site and then everyone else just started to agree and post negative reviews when they haven't actually tried the service themselves to be able to fairly judge the company. I'm not saying you should agree with me... I'm saying you should at least do more research yourself and perhaps even check them out yourself before posting a review.
How can a company be a scam if its been in business since 2003 and its part of the top 5000 inc. companies? They have a lot of different office they aren't taking money from you and then disappearing. check it out for yourself go here http://www.inc.com/inc5000/profile/one-source-talent
and go here http://www.newswiretoday.com/news/40156/ it clearly says they create a cost-effective relationship between clients and talents.
like i said i know others who are with that company and they like it... and they actually are using the service! go to their website, check out their blogs or what others said on there...and then go check out the company for yourself and make a decision. dont let someone else make a decision for you!
you really should do some more research on the company because so much of what i read isn't even true! I have friends that are with that company and they love it and i'm thinking about having one of my relatives go there too. they explain it to you when you are there as to what they do and how the work and they even show you how to use everything on their site. One source is NOT an agency. what they do is they work with a lot of different clients (agencies and castings directors) and these clients go to one source talent and let them know what exactly they are looking for (looks, height, weight, skills, etc etc). one source then uses its database that has all the info about their models/actors and see who meet that criteria then submit you out if you meet it. if that casting director or agency likes your pictures/info then they can request you and thats when one source will contact you with the opportunity.
they dont guarantee you will book anything because they cant! they cant tell a director who to pick. its like going to career builder.com They will increase your exposure and that can lead to more job interviews... but that does not mean you WILL get the job nor can careerBuilder.com guarantee you will get a job through them!
do more research on the company and you'll see they have been in business since 2003 and they are part of the Top 500o incorporated companies. go here if you dont believe http://www.inc.com/inc5000/profile/one-source-talent and see for yourself. would they be in business for so long if they weren't legit and if they weren't doing something for both their clients and their models/actors?
go here http://www.newswiretoday.com/news/40156/ it tells you they create a cost-effective relationship between their clients and talents (talent meaning models/actors)
im completely disagreeing with the reviews from others because its seems like one person went there, didn't like it, wrote a bad review and then everyone else just re-posted that same review and agreed to it without checking anything out themselves. I would rather come to a decision myself than see what one person says then agree with them. I'm not saying you should agree with me... i'm just saying at least do more research. Like i said, i have friends that are with that company and I haven't heard anything negative from them. seems like all the negative reviews have come from those who didnt try out the service at all.
I have been going through everything that it seems like all of htese other people have gone through. I have a daughter who is 10 years old ad we are suppose to go for our "third meeting" tomorrow. I had a family member call me and tell me that I might wat to check out this sight before I give them any money, as I have laready paid the $39.95 monthly fee. I certainly hope they don't think they are going to automatically deduct that money from my checking account! Oh there will be trouble! I am very nervous now and I amcancelling my appointment! i can not afford to lose a pennie to a scam like this, especially with the economy the way it is. They alo expect me to drive up to Oakbrooke every other day..that's an hour and a half for me and I don;t have time for that! I would never expectanything like this to be free, but come on?...$395 for a photo shoot to start out? And that's the smallest package! I don't have that kind of money to gamble with!
