Octagon I am complaining about my iphone that was defect.

Nov. 15, 2021- I bought an Iphone XR in Octagon Tabaco Branch (Albay, Bicol). That day I already had a problem with the wifi connection and data.
Nov. 17, 2021- I went to Octagon to tell them whats wrong about my phone. they said that I have to check it from Mac Store, I was confused since Mac Store is not part of Octagon. but still I went to mac store. They told me there is something wrong with the phone.

Nov 18, 2021- Came back to Octagon to tell them about what Mac Store said. Told them I want to replace it because it is obviously defect. They told me that I cannot replace it without a letter from Apple Store that the iphone that I purchased from them is defect. they told me that they will send it to their main office to check it..

Long story short.
It is already January 13, 2022. no update from them. It is still in Manila..

Now, my question is, it is obviously defect. Why cant they replace it or why cant I return it. They already checked that there was a problem with the phone. Why do I have to wait for 2 months or God knows when will I wait.

Desired outcome: Hope that I will have any update about it

Octagon Acer aspire 3

Bumili kami ng family ko sa Octagon SM Megamall, actually dapat hindi talaga kami sa kanya bibili ng laptop and cellphones but dahil dun bumili ate ko ng laptop so we try na din bumili dun. Bale okay naman yung service nila sa amin madami silang nirecommend sa laptop kasi I want to buy a laptop nung Feb 14 2020 before the pandemic starts. Bali dun kami bumili na ng laptop which is my complaints ngayon and yung cellphone bale tatlong cp binili namin and the laptop all in all cash yung binayad namin hindi hulugan kundi cash as in direct cash ang inabot. So bale we are happy to our new gudgets that time. My laptop warranty is 2 years pero 8 months pa lang yung laptop na ginagamit ko minsan hindi kasi I have phone then yung charger na sira na agad so I though na baka kasi madalas na gagalaw so sinubukan ko talaga lumabas nun at maka pasok ng SM kasi nga Lockdown pa buti and bawal mag papasok under 21 years old that time I was turning 17 pa lang so kabado but pinapasok naman kami so dun na nag tanong sa Octagon sabi ko yung charger ng laptop ko is ayaw nya ng gumana actually akala ko yung mismong pin sa laptop ang may sira. Tas sabi lang nung lalaki di daw nila pwedeng kalkalin yun and sa mismong Acer namin daw ipakita so bale ako sinabi ko na dito ko po sya binili sabi naman nila sa Acer ko na lang ipakita so nag punta ako sa mismong Acer sa SM okay naman pag assist nila sa amin so bale sinabi ko mga complaints ko sa Acer that time tapos yung laptop teka teka like promise ang tagal nya as in loading lang ng loading while waiting kasi chineck na ng Acer yung charger may diperensya not my laptop pero sinilip pa din nila yung laptop inopen nila then ayun ang teke teke nya nga I though first nung sa bahay pag nag gaganun baka sa wifi or something. Tas yung kuya na nag checheck he ask me kung san ko daw ba binili si laptop so I said sa Octagon po then biglang parang napa smile sya ng bahagya sabay iling so ako madami kasing tao then I was shy so naka upo lang ako sa gilid habang waiting sa teke tekang laptop I don't know kung ano yung exact na sinasabi nung kuya kasi di naman ako nakikinig dahil mga kawork nya kinakausap nya na parang dat di ako bumili sa Octagon ganun kasi parang ganyan mga issues dun. So I remember yung siinabi ng kapitbahay namin na dapat sa mismong store na lang kami bibili ng gudgets hindi sa kung saan lalo na daw sa Octagon kasi she had a classmate na bumili din dun sa Octago ng laptop and na sira nga din daw agad ayun mayaman naman yun that's why di nag reklamo but me di mayaman kaya nag rereklamo ako. My point is after 8 months na ng pagkabili ng laptop ko na sira agad yung charger. Then ngayon my laptop naman yung na sisira onti onti pag open ko ng screen ng laptop as in pag buklat ko may sound na cracking then inopen ko so nakita ko kung saan mismo dun sa pinagkokonekan ng screen at ng board ayun yung nag crack the a while ago may na hulag na screw so ayan ngayon di na na tutupi laptop ko. Di pa naman tapos yung warranty neto sana naman maayos pa sya. Tas 9 months pa lang yung charger nag loloko nanaman hindi naman na gagalaw pag ng chacharge laptop ko at naka shutdown naman sya pag chinarge pero na sira pa din di ko alam kung dahil saan ba bat na sisira yung laptop maayos naman syang naka tabi pag di ko ginagamit and pag ginagamit ko pero bat parang ang bilis nya masira. Di ako mag cocomplaints kung nabagsak ko laptop ko kaya nag kaganun kaso hindi e di naman na babagsak yung laptop ko pero parang ang rupok ng laptop. I notice din noon way back 2020 nung na sira charger ko chineck ko yung likod ng laptop yung mga screw parang luma na I don't know o ganun talaga screw nya pero I though if brand new naman diba mashiny pa yung screw. This is what I experience and sinabi ko lang kung ano yung nararanasan ko sa laptop. Iba pa yung cp na tatlo. YUng mother ko na bagsak lang ng mababa nag blackout na agad yung cp nya partidamay screenprotector yun and case ah pero sira blackout jusq. I don't know if maganda ba quality ng Octagon daig pa secondhand na gamit e. Buti pa nga secondhand nag tatagal sa oOctagon bumili ka ng brand new pero ang rurupok. Di talaga lahat ng galing sa Mall maganda quality.

Octagon octagon event trainee position aka slave labor

A few days ago, I received an email from Octagon about their Event Trainee Role. I was elated because I have submitted so many applications for various roles with Octagon over the past 3 years, but I never got a response. However, my initial excitement rapidly diminished as I read the positions details:

-This position is limited term: November - December, working towards full time
Candidates must be post grad
-This role is located at Harlem Irving Plaza or Woodfield Mall - would you be able to travel here at your own expense?
-About 40 hrs./week
-Compensation is $11.00/hr. with overtime at time and a half - no benefits
-This is a great get your foot in the door opportunity. We will have longer trainee positions open in January. So, you'd be internal, getting priority consideration for other roles of interest to you
-You'll be a part of our trainee meetings and will have access to my team to work on your career development

Here are my questions:
Why is Octagon is trying to recruit a post-grad like me with over 3 years of experience working events for a full-time position with no benefits and a pay rate that is way below industry standard?

Why is being an "Event Trainees" a standalone job when every other agency provides independent contractors paid training on top of payment for working events?

Why are Event Trainees expected to work about 40 hours per week when every other agency gives independent contractors the freedom to work however many hours they want?

After taxes get taken out, an "Event Trainee" who makes only $11/hour will be left with nothing after working long hours as if they were a regular full-time employee...but not officially. HOW IS THIS LEGAL?

It is extremely insulting of Octagon to try luring people into accepting a knockoff full-time employee position by saying, "This is a great get your foot in the door opportunity. We will have longer trainee positions open in January. So, you'd be internal, getting priority consideration for other roles of interest to you." Just because Octagon says they will give trainees priority over other candidates when hiring for other roles, there is no guarantee of growth in this company!

After reading several reviews from former Event Trainees on Glassdoor, it is apparent that Octagon has been getting away taking advantage of workers financially for quite some time now. This disturbing exploitation of labor needs to STOP! Paying fake full-time employees $11/hour is unacceptable. Octagon need to be exposed and shut down for using slave labor because what they are doing is criminal.

For Octagon to call themselves the "world's largest sports and entertainment agency, " they can definitely afford to pay their workers more. According to Forbes, Octagon has made $114.4 million in commissions since September 2017. Where is all of that money going? It is now obvious to me that Octagon pockets almost all of that money instead of paying people fair wages for their work.

Octagon Repair/Return/Refund

Well well... I though I was the only one who had extremely bad experience with THAT OCTAGON computer store.
Here's my story.
My mom arrived from abroad last July for a vacation and she asked me if I wanted something so that she can buy it for me. I said "laptop" right away since my Compaq laptop that I have been using for like almost 10 years already (which served me very well) was already rebooting like every 5 or 15 minutes for the last 2 months.
It so happened that SM Cebu was having it's mall-wide sale.
We were in the Cyberzone and check on computer stores until we arrived in Octagon from where we found a 4th generation Lenovo i3 laptop which have a reasonable price with free Kaspersky anti-virus and MS Office 360. We decided to buy it. After paying for it, their technician turned it on and installed some applications, anti-virus, MS Office 360 so we have to wait for it to be installed. While waiting, we noticed that there were a lot of other laptops that are on repair and they are testing them at that time. And there are also other customers buying new ones that they also have to install some apps and do the backup recovery with. I grew bored while waiting for the apps to be installed and the tech told us that it will take an hour, so we decided to just stroll around the mall instead. When we came back, it was 4 hours past the wait time already, my laptop was the only one left and was still there updating and installing when the other laptops that was bought minutes after mine were long gone. And the tech told me that it has something to do with their wifi because it's slow that's why it takes longer time for it to download/install the apps, blah blah blah. At that time, I suspected that there must be something wrong with it, but I decided to just bring it home and continue to install that apps at home, it took me like 1 hour to finish it. That night, I tried to use it all night and I realized that it's slow compared to the 3rd gen i3 dell laptop of my sister and the lenovo's wifi is catching up slowly, it has like 1-2 bars for the wifi signal even if it's just beside the wfi router. And shockwave always crashes no matter what website or browser I used. The microphone is also not working well, I have to get my mouth literally super close to the microphone in order for it work and the camera quality is super bad.
So, on the 8th day, we went back to Octagon store to complain and the tech told us that they need to have it checked at the service center and have to stay there for a week and they did not even provide any service laptop!
I was pissed because it was a total inconvenience!
The tech called me in 2 days and said that the service center told them that there is nothing wrong so far and that they would just update us.
After a week, we came back and was told that there is something wrong with it's software(well in fact i know that it is a hardware problem) and needs to be replaced and they let us choose another laptop (sales pitching strategy).
Then I decided to buy an HP TouchSmart d006tx i3 laptop with a price tag much higher than the Lenovo thinking that it should not have any problems since I have used Compaq(with no issues at all), which is also a product of HP.
But I was wrong.
After they opened the box for the new HP touchscreen laptop, they started to do their thing on installing/downloading apps, when I was about to go and stroll in the mall, I wanted to try the touchsreen, I touched it but nothing happend on the browser that I tried to open, so I tried again and again, still nothing. Then the tech came and I told him that the touchscreen is not working, he tried it and said that it must have some settings to have it activated ( I was like, if it's already made as a touchscreen, it should not have an option for you to activated or deactivate it, same thing with the cellphones and tablets). What was he thinking? that I'm that dumb? the other tech told the tech who said that a hardware is missing so replaced it, I tested the touchsreen after turning it on and it worked.
It was okay then my sister realized that it was slow and it takes time for it to reach the "lock" page since it was operating with Win 8.1 OS.
I was okay with it at that time.
2 weeks have passed and I noticed that it turns off 2 hours after with a fully charged battery and I have to plug it in the charger for it to turn on, then I finally saw the blue screen with a sad emoticon saying "your pc ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info and then we'll restart for you. (70% complete) DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION".
I kept on researching about that error, tried to do some troubleshooting myself...updating, installing and reinstalling, checking some apps if they compatible and it has been going on for 2 weeks more, then I decided to chat with HP support since I have warranty with HP when I bought the laptop.
On registration, I found out that my laptop's warranty started on February 28, 2014 when in fact I bought it on July 2014.
So I told HP support's chat representative about it and said that I have to present to them the invoice for evidence, so I did and said that it will be updated.
HP chat support rep also asked me for the BIOS version of my laptop that is having a problem and found out that the BIOS version is not specific to my laptop and therefore cannot diagnose the problem for my laptop and cannot fix it and suggested that I just have to update the NVIDIA hard drive, which I did, and still the problem persists.
I was fed up so I went back to Octagon and told them the problem and said that they will have it checked at the service center again.
The tech said if I used some apps that could have caused it, blah blah blah( he was doing the obnoxious gesture) and I told him in a loud voice that I found out that the warranty of that laptop with HP's support started a few months back when I just bought it in July, na.hilaw iyang nawng ui.
I told him that I already chatted with HP chat support and told him everything and it was so obvious that they don't know the cause of that problem, so they called an HP store representative and clearly doesn't have any idea. When I waited while they were checking my laptop, I noticed a technician who is entertaining another customer when I heard the tech told them that it contracted a virus and needs to stay with service center for a week to a month then he started opening the HP flatscreen desktop computer and checking the parts. -->why the heck open the computer if the problem is with it's software?
Then finally, that tech (the one who is opening & attempting to repair an HP flat screen desktop computer) overheard us talking said that it has something to do with the basic system.

that mean I have to wait---AGAIN, another week? I was sooooo fed up that I wanted a refund. wait, I DEMANDED a refund.

but their OIC said that they cannot do it, they can only replace it and said that I have already used the anti-virus and the MS office, and whining like a baby... then I told him "how will we know if it works or not if we will not try it?"
still insistent that they cannot refund, I was so frustrated that I just gave them the charger the laptop box, everything and said "keep it. I don't want to deal with you anymore."

walked out, went around the mall, decided to go back and told him that all I want is a refund. I had my voice so loud so that other customers will hear, explaining to him that I don't want to deal with them and that it's the second time already that I'm having issues with their product and told him that we even told the cashier who processed the second laptop's sale that if we will encounter another problem with this, we want to have a refund.(but the cashier was just hush at that time) and I also emphasized that we paid it in cash, so there could be no reason why it cannot be processed easily when you want refund/returns or exchanges.
And I don't want to go back to the store again and again every month for their highly defective and overpriced refurbished laptops!
So the OIC said that he has to call their head manager and agreed to have the refund but they will only refund the laptop unit only.
It turned out that the MS Office 360 and Kaspersky anti-virus is not free at all!
The price I paid for it is like a package! Why would you advertise that it is free when in fact it is not?
Liars and cheaters go to hell. Your wealth here on earth will not be taken with you after your death.

I was still relieved by the refund which they did through Metrobank check.

I am now Octagon-free!

And so so you know, the other i5 HP laptop we bought on that same day when I bought my TouchSmart HP laptop (as a replacement) in another store (Thinking Tools store) didn't have any problems at all. As well as the i3 Dell laptop that my sister uses

Octagon Cancellation fee

I wanted to renew my car insurance and referred to Octagon Insurance. After a month I received an email from them. They told that they didn’t get my confirmation for smth and now they cancel all the insurance and I have to pay $50 cancellation fee. Are they crazy? They never told me about any confirmations!

Octagon Warranty Complaint

Good Day,
I bought a notebook one of its branch in manila, it says warranty in all branches. After I go Back to Ozamiz City and stayed for months, the notebook was not working after three months thats why i go to Octagon ozamiz and they say they will send it for reapairs in manila after a month of waiting the notebook was back but sadly i was out of town thats why my sister claimed it their. the notebook was working but after a day they discover the charger of the notebook was damage. so they wait for me to go back.. after 2 months i was back home i immediately go back to octagon for the replacement of the charger. i saw and they try they have a charger but sadly they didnt replace it but instead they say they will send back the charger as will as the notebook back to manila. I was Pissed of! Only the charger was damage no need to send the notebook back! they have a charger they could replace it! but they didnt! Octagon ozamiz This is for You! What a Stupid Crew You Have!

Octagon Items under warranty

I bought a Belkin Wireless G router (October) last year and have it brought for repair last May 3. I was advised that it will take around 2 to 3 weeks for repair and get some update on the status since they asked me to indicate my contact number on the job order slip.

I called two weeks after and were not able to get any substantial info from the customer service department. I was refered to their main office and got some assistance and was told that they will personally look my concern and will provide update re: PROGRESS of my request.

As today June 10, 40 days without a router, I havent received any call/updates coming from the company or the main office. I am totally disappointed with the type of service that I am getting from a company they consider themselves to be the biggest computer store in the country.

I would definitely think twice if I were to buy major or expensive items from their store. They might be competitive on their prices but definitely their customer service is way below satisfactory.

by the way the email (ocs@octagon.com.ph) reflected on the website is not working..i always receive error message... domain issues.. there is no way you can send feedback or request assistance using it..

Octagon Cannot buy laptop without buying separate Windows OS

I'm attracted to this laptop that octagon in one of their branches is selling. I've seen the same laptop which costs around 28k being sold online on different sites. I was about to buy it when the saleslady told me that I should also buy a windows OS with it. I can choose from a variety of windows OS versions which price start from 2.5k up. I told her that I opt not to buy the windows OS anymore 'coz the Linux OS already installed in the laptop is enough for my need. But then, she said it was a company policy not to allow the laptop to be sold without a windows OS being sold with it. I told her again that I don't need it 'coz if it were the one installed on the laptop I would remove it and install the Linux OS instead, which is exactly what I need. But then, I started to get pissed with what she said. She told me that they were just being cautious of unlicensed and pirated software. Now, who is she telling me that! I told her Linux is a free software if she doesn't know that already and please don't imply to me that I will be installing pirated software on it. I was just controlling myself 'coz if she slipped and told me that I will be installing pirated software on it, I could have filed a complaint against her.

Further, the wrong thing about it is that they are advertising it on their flyers that the laptop costs this price (e.g: 28k) but when you get there you will be surprised 'coz you will be forced to buy another item aside from the laptop. And why are they insisting on customers to buy something which they don't wanna buy.

But where's their mistake? Let me give you a scenario to help understand the fault. For example, another retailer sells a package of the same laptop bundled with the windows OS at a price of 31k. Now octagon is selling it at 28k. So a customer would go to octagon which offers the lower price. Only to know that the price would end up to be the same with the other retailer 'coz he/she will be forced to buy the windows OS also.

Don't you think its unfair trade on the part of their competitors? And on the part of the customer, I do honestly believe it's foul letting the customers fall into that trap.

Now if i would be on the other way around, it would be ok if they just advertised that the price is 31k and the package already includes a windows OS.

P.S. Just curious. Does octagon really have that policy? Or are their employees making this up to sell additional items.

The employee must only be hard-selling for the bonus income. But experience left me with the impression that Octagon personnel, in general, do not like Linux.

Octagon SG NAPULI RUDE SECURITY GUARD IN OCTAGON COMPUTER STORE LIMKETKAI MALL

A bad experience when i visited OCTAGON Computer store LIMKETKAI MALL in Cagayan de Oro City last November ... the store has a lot people and the sales man are busy at that time so i look around check out the laptops then this fat ugly security guard saw me looking at the laptop and start sales talk me to buying one. My budget is only 20 thousand pesos so i asked him if there is a cheaper laptop maybe a price of 20 thousand or below but he insulted me and giving me a bad attitude saying " Maam sa surplus ka dapat pumunta mga bago ang mga tinda namin dito. doon ka dapat pumunta sa american surplus sa labas ng mall. so walk out and being insulted by a security guard i cant forget his tag name in his uniform SG NAPULI i will never go near this store again. He is not doing hes duty guarding the store instead he acts like a sales man not only that hes rude person i dont know why they hired this kind of person.

Time: Around 12:30PM 10JULY14

Release date of my NBI is today, 10th of July so I went to Robinsons Metroeast.

Me: Saan ko po 'to ibibigay? ( hawak ko yung copy ng receipt )
Guard: Pumili ka d'yan.
Me: Saan? Doon? (sabay turo sa mga nakapila na walang dalang receipt)
Guard: Oo, basta pila ka d'yan.
Me: Sigurado ka ha. (Lumakad na ako papuntang pilahan)
Sabay, yung guard narinig ko na nagsalita, "ikaw na nga ang tinuturuan ng tama eh". (pabalang habang nakangisi katabi ang isang lalaki)
Medyo nainis ako sa tone of voice ni manong guard. Tinitignan ko s'ya mula sa pwesto ko (pilahan), para makita 'yung name n'ya sa damit.
Bigla si manong guard lumapit sa akin sa pila.
Guard: Anong problema mo at sinisipat sipat mo ako! (with an attitude)
Me: Wala, kinikuha ko pangalan mo.
Guard: Ikaw na nga itong tinuturan ng maayos.
Meanwhile, naghihintay ako sa pila, pero parang hindi tama kasi for releasing at naghihintay na lang matawag yung nasa pila ko, samantalang ako, hawak ko pa yung receipt ko.

Octagon laptop neo computer

my laptop neo computers was bought last october 2007,
they issued me a receipt having it with my name printed.
recently, the laptop computer shots, the power turns on and off.
So i tried to have fix the problem to octagon sales but they are asking for the receipt which unfortunately i lost that. Then the crew told me that they cannot accommodate my claim unless i can show the said receipt.
My point is that, they should render service to my unit even i dont have my receipt as long the warranty seal is in tact.

Octagon Defective products

my friend bought a complete set of personal computer in OCTAGON COMPUTER along with me, on their branch in Robinsons LIPA CITY, and to our surprise when we set up the PC in their house the monitor was defective, the box was worn out as if it was already sent back by another customer, the hardware inside the CPU was overpriced that it should only cost as any other low quality hardware.. and the crew was incompetent because they dont care about the customer if the product they give to the customer is defective, or they just do it on purpose.. what an incompetent people they are. Please as much as possible dont buy your Computer Here or any Hardware parts..

Octagon Zero customer service attitude

I bought a PC from them (Octagon Cagayan de Oro) last February and it runs good but then five months after the PC was slowly have problems. It came to the point where in the PC no longer boot. So I brought it to their store and and they run some test. After that they said that I have to used a power supply with bigger wattage and so I did bought one. The next day, the PC is back again which would not boot so again I brought to their store. This time they said they will test my Graphics Card and then they said it may be the cause of the problem. While I am not contended on what they say, I looked for ways to test it with my own. I bought another Graphics card to test it. But still the problem was never resolve. Finally they said, they will ship the motherboard to Manila to replace it as they say. From the time of the problem till the time they said they will ship it to their main office was almost a month. And so, I let them brought the motherboard to their main office to replace it. They said they will call me if it will arrive. They haven't gave me any service PC. One month and half later, the package arrived. When I got there they said that they have to send it back to Manila because the box is correct with the wrong Motherboard model. I was really pissed at that time. That was really a negligence of those whoever packed that box. Till Now they haven't gave me back my motherboard. What a shame on them, a big company with a zero customer service attitude.

The problem with my laptop is that, it immediately turns off without prompting that it is lowbatt and even if you had it fully charged before using it, it automatically turns off. So what i did, i brought it to their store, i told them my concerns with the unit and they said "talagang nalolobat yan maam". And they even asked me of a video proving that the unit wont show a notification that it is lowbatt even if they themselves already witnessed the said problem after running some tests. After a week (on October 18 to be exact), I had given them the video they were asking and they said the motherboard is the problem and they need to send my unit with their accredited service shop and i'll just wait for their text message after 30-40days if the unit is already fixed. After 42 days (November 28, 2015), i returned to the store and to my surprise, my unit is already fixed and yet they were not informing me for they were using it on their personal motives. AS i reviewed the receipt, i saw that the date that my unit was fixed was on October 22, 2015, just 4 days from the day i surrendered my unit. THe staff can't even answer my queries and the worst, they can still show you lack of respect to their customers. What a shame on Octagon Limketkai CDO Branch...

Believe me Octagon is the worst place to buy a lap top. I bought mine there and have had nothing but trouble with it and they either will not fix it or they don't know how. I would not even buy software there. Dave Leonard

There is a company Webnook.in, it provides webhosting ser.
Its customer support is nothing. Even website running on its server is not working.
Call its no +[protected] is switch off by 6 pm IST.
At the time of meony taking there are very prompt and will commit lot of services.
But all commitment is zero after they receive money.
I says 24x7 but even indian business hour hthey are not working.
and at any point of time they may change any technical information of server.
very much frustrating with this company.

This problem is not supposedly be bigger and bigger. This problem is by the Computer Technician that he did not diagnose correctly and just replace in a wrong problem. Wrong diagnose makes wrong replacement of parts. Less experience in troubleshooting and guessing the problem this and that solution that did not diagnose correctly. This is very simple cannot bootup? Lots of Computer technician today that wrong diagnosing. If I am the Computer Technician and step by step diagnose. It takes 1 to 2 days and call back the owner about the problem. There are lots of ways on how to troubleshoot or diagnose Computer. If the problem persist. Call the customer and give him or her a a computer for service in order not to stop his or her work. This company should trained their Computer Technician and maintain its good servicing to their costumer.

my netbook NEO was 1 month expired from its warranty then the problem occured really bad because the operating system was not found or cant be detected, i bought it to OCTAGON-ozamiz city then they said that they dont have an available hard disk but if they have i have to pay, 3-5k then they said about the service center of NEO in CAGAYAN. so may i ask where is this service center of NEO in cagayan.

I agreed on what the first customer said. I had an experienced same as him. I retuned my laptop 3x and it gave me some headaches. The only problem on my laptop is the screen, but when they returned it to me, battery was not charging anymore so gave it back, again again when they gave it to me there was another problem the cursor, so i returned it again then they advised me to buy harddisk to get my file and they will reformat ..now the laptop is ok...after how many headaches achieved...

I bought an Acer lap top from Octagon in Feb of 2010. Everything was ok until I had to contact Acer for a recovery tool software. They asked me for my ser # and snid # which I gave them. Acer never heard of my pc and says Acer didn't make it. Now, just between you and me I am very suspecious and am thinking that maybe my unit is a clone made in China. I don't know for sure but I'm very suspecious.

yeah sue octagon..they just keep on asking for service fee even under warranty...my friend bought a pc from them and then she asks to reformat the pc, since my friend doesn't know how to reformat, , they ask for 500p service fee and the most pissing part..they took one of the part of the pc..the usb ports located in front of the pc...another friend of mine bought a pc and the ram is stated 2gb but when she open and look at the ram its only 1gb..alot of my friends had the same feedbacks from octagon...damn them..this is in Octagon ozamiz. DONT EVER BUY IN ANY OCTAGON SHOPS!WHERE EVERYTHING NEVER LAST FOR GOOD!

Octagon Bad service and lies

Complaint about Octagon Computer, Ozamiz City, Philippines

In October of last year I bought my wife Jean a computer from the Octagon store in Ozamiz City. I was assured that it was covered by a warranty but did not get a copy of it. In March of this year the computer started going south. When I came in April it was not working and we took it to the store.

They said they needed to send the parts to Manila to "verify" they were broken. Initially the problem was a hard drive, and they tried to sell me a hard drive. Then they said the motherboard was bad. Looking inside I could see one of the two memory chips was bad. So they sent the hard drive and motherboard to Manila, promising to fix the parts.

Well weeks and week go by and they keep saying "Oh yes it will be soon". Eventually they told me that they have a repair center in "Manila" and that the parts would be attempted to be "fixed" as opposed to replace. This whole time we keep paying P999 per month for Internet service cause we don't want to incur a re-hookup fee.

Finally after three months and lots of sales pitches to replace the whole machine, the parts were returned. The motherboard apparently works now (at least Jean thinks so) and the hard drive was presumably replaced. However they did not actually reassemble the computer, expecting more money for that. Jean instead has hired a third party to come over... put the parts in... and set the computer back up for her with software and configuration.

The people at this company lied to and ripped us off all through this process. They did not replace the bad memory chip either, although the computer will run on one it won't run as well... however Jean primarily needs it to talk to me. She might still get some use of it for school.

The failure of the parts I am pretty sure is the result of the heavy salt air, humidity, smoke, and such where she lives; this does not however free the company from thier warranty obligation. At one point I asked for a copy of the warranty and they said they don't have "Copies", just one store copy and they would not provide it or furnish us with our own copy.

I am now determined to alert other potential and current customers of the scam and lousy customer service we were put through. It is despicable to lie to good paying customer all along and then in the end screw them out of repairs they are entitled to. You mileage may vary but this company is a dog and I would highly recommend not doing a single peso worth of business with them. If you do (or with any other store) get copies of any warranty i writing. Because of the legal system in the Philippines and this being a big store the odds on actually getting a legal victory are slim to none.

There is another way however... make sure that you hold companies accountable for bad service and lies. Tell your friends as well of your experiences. If lots of people did this they would be driven out of business and only the ones who treated people with respect and fairness would remain.

13 August 2016 I went to the store with my mom to buy devices, a USB wire and an A4Tech G3-280N mouse with nano receiver in OCTAGON SM BACOOR BRANCH. Closing time was 9PM, we went there by 8:50PM. I asked for assistance so I can check if the mouse is properly working and proceeded to pay. One female employee (cashier) was showing attitude because we were last minute customers. One male employee (assistant) packed the devices in a paper bag, stapled it and gave it to me so we left because it's already quarter past their closing time.

I went home excited with my new wireless mouse only to find out there's no nano receiver inside the box. I checked the box, the paper bag four times but there's nothing. I was wondering maybe it was left behind their CPU so I went back to their store this afternoon (14 August 2016).

The female employee who approached me (who was the cashier) denied me, and told me she's sure the nano receiver was there. She called the male employee who packed my devices and told me he showed me the box after boxing it, but he never showed me anything. Just gave me the paper bag.

These two employees kept smirking on my face while I'm talking to them. Female employee told me there's nothing I could do but to buy another bundle. She told me I can go back tomorrow and she'll show me the CCTV footage that they put the nano receiver in the box. And how can a little thing like a nano receiver can be seen in the footage? I spent P650 on this mouse that I have never even used for a second.

Tell me what should the customers do when there's a conspiracy from the employees against their customers?

I bought parts in Octagon years ago. I found the price of the item I bought from them for my sister's pc was just too high compared in store in cebu I visited days after. I think they are not updating their prices, they still give you the original price of they item eventhough the price of the item has already go down. That was my last visit of the store.

Well well... I though I was the only one who had extremely bad experience with THAT OCTAGON computer store.
Here's my story.
My mom arrived from abroad last July for a vacation and she asked me if I wanted something so that she can buy it for me. I said "laptop" right away since my Compaq laptop that I have been using for like almost 10 years already (which served me very well) was already rebooting like every 5 or 15 minutes for the last 2 months.
It so happened that SM Cebu was having it's mall-wide sale.
We were in the Cyberzone and check on computer stores until we arrived in Octagon from where we found a 4th generation Lenovo i3 laptop which have a reasonable price with free Kaspersky anti-virus and MS Office 360. We decided to buy it. After paying for it, their technician turned it on and installed some applications, anti-virus, MS Office 360 so we have to wait for it to be installed. While waiting, we noticed that there were a lot of other laptops that are on repair and they are testing them at that time. And there are also other customers buying new ones that they also have to install some apps and do the backup recovery with. I grew bored while waiting for the apps to be installed and the tech told us that it will take an hour, so we decided to just stroll around the mall instead. When we came back, it was 4 hours past the wait time already, my laptop was the only one left and was still there updating and installing when the other laptops that was bought minutes after mine were long gone. And the tech told me that it has something to do with their wifi because it's slow that's why it takes longer time for it to download/install the apps, blah blah blah. At that time, I suspected that there must be something wrong with it, but I decided to just bring it home and continue to install that apps at home, it took me like 1 hour to finish it. That night, I tried to use it all night and I realized that it's slow compared to the 3rd gen i3 dell laptop of my sister and the lenovo's wifi is catching up slowly, it has like 1-2 bars for the wifi signal even if it's just beside the wfi router. And shockwave always crashes no matter what website or browser I used. The microphone is also not working well, I have to get my mouth literally super close to the microphone in order for it work and the camera quality is super bad.
So, on the 8th day, we went back to Octagon store to complain and the tech told us that they need to have it checked at the service center and have to stay there for a week and they did not even provide any service laptop!
I was pissed because it was a total inconvenience!
The tech called me in 2 days and said that the service center told them that there is nothing wrong so far and that they would just update us.
After a week, we came back and was told that there is something wrong with it's software(well in fact i know that it is a hardware problem) and needs to be replaced and they let us choose another laptop (sales pitching strategy).
Then I decided to buy an HP TouchSmart d006tx i3 laptop with a price tag much higher than the Lenovo thinking that it should not have any problems since I have used Compaq(with no issues at all), which is also a product of HP.
But I was wrong.
After they opened the box for the new HP touchscreen laptop, they started to do their thing on installing/downloading apps, when I was about to go and stroll in the mall, I wanted to try the touchsreen, I touched it but nothing happend on the browser that I tried to open, so I tried again and again, still nothing. Then the tech came and I told him that the touchscreen is not working, he tried it and said that it must have some settings to have it activated ( I was like, if it's already made as a touchscreen, it should not have an option for you to activated or deactivate it, same thing with the cellphones and tablets). What was he thinking? that I'm that dumb? the other tech told the tech who said that a hardware is missing so replaced it, I tested the touchsreen after turning it on and it worked.
It was okay then my sister realized that it was slow and it takes time for it to reach the "lock" page since it was operating with Win 8.1 OS.
I was okay with it at that time.
2 weeks have passed and I noticed that it turns off 2 hours after with a fully charged battery and I have to plug it in the charger for it to turn on, then I finally saw the blue screen with a sad emoticon saying "your pc ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info and then we'll restart for you. (70% complete) DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION".
I kept on researching about that error, tried to do some troubleshooting myself...updating, installing and reinstalling, checking some apps if they compatible and it has been going on for 2 weeks more, then I decided to chat with HP support since I have warranty with HP when I bought the laptop.
On registration, I found out that my laptop's warranty started on February 28, 2014 when in fact I bought it on July 2014.
So I told HP support's chat representative about it and said that I have to present to them the invoice for evidence, so I did and said that it will be updated.
HP chat support rep also asked me for the BIOS version of my laptop that is having a problem and found out that the BIOS version is not specific to my laptop and therefore cannot diagnose the problem for my laptop and cannot fix it and suggested that I just have to update the NVIDIA hard drive, which I did, and still the problem persists.
I was fed up so I went back to Octagon and told them the problem and said that they will have it checked at the service center again.
The tech said if I used some apps that could have caused it, blah blah blah( he was doing the obnoxious gesture) and I told him in a loud voice that I found out that the warranty of that laptop with HP's support started a few months back when I just bought it in July, na.hilaw iyang nawng ui.
I told him that I already chatted with HP chat support and told him everything and it was so obvious that they don't know the cause of that problem, so they called an HP store representative and clearly doesn't have any idea. When I waited while they were checking my laptop, I noticed a technician who is entertaining another customer when I heard the tech told them that it contracted a virus and needs to stay with service center for a week to a month then he started opening the HP flatscreen desktop computer and checking the parts. -->why the heck open the computer if the problem is with it's software?
Then finally, that tech (the one who is opening & attempting to repair an HP flat screen desktop computer) overheard us talking said that it has something to do with the basic system.

that mean I have to wait---AGAIN, another week? I was sooooo fed up that I wanted a refund. wait, I DEMANDED a refund.

but their OIC said that they cannot do it, they can only replace it and said that I have already used the anti-virus and the MS office, and whining like a baby... then I told him "how will we know if it works or not if we will not try it?"
still insistent that they cannot refund, I was so frustrated that I just gave them the charger the laptop box, everything and said "keep it. I don't want to deal with you anymore."

walked out, went around the mall, decided to go back and told him that all I want is a refund. I had my voice so loud so that other customers will hear, explaining to him that I don't want to deal with them and that it's the second time already that I'm having issues with their product and told him that we even told the cashier who processed the second laptop's sale that if we will encounter another problem with this, we want to have a refund.(but the cashier was just hush at that time) and I also emphasized that we paid it in cash, so there could be no reason why it cannot be processed easily when you want refund/returns or exchanges.
And I don't want to go back to the store again and again every month for their highly defective and overpriced refurbished laptops!
So the OIC said that he has to call their head manager and agreed to have the refund but they will only refund the laptop unit only.
It turned out that the MS Office 360 and Kaspersky anti-virus is not free at all!
The price I paid for it is like a package! Why would you advertise that it is free when in fact it is not?
Liars and cheaters go to hell. Your wealth here on earth will not be taken with you after your death.

I was still relieved by the refund which they did through Metrobank check.

I am now Octagon-free!

And so so you know, the other i5 HP laptop we bought on that same day when I bought my TouchSmart HP laptop (as a replacement) in another store (Thinking Tools store) didn't have any problems at all. As well as the i3 Dell laptop that my sister uses.

Octagon Computer Center - Cotabato City (Complaint)
My Father bought a APC UPS ES 500VA last March 03/18/2014 since mindanao has suffered a Power Crisis back then
but in less than one month, the product is not functioning normally (Defective) and didn't last long enough because of the series of power interruptions (1-2 hrs rotating brownout in Cotabato City) so we return it to the store last 04/19/2014

the store technician and saleslady promised to us that the product will return two(2) to Three(3) months later but until now we did not received the product or give our money back. And the RUDE CASHIER / Sales Lady (i don't want to mention a name but she is so so ANNOYING) said to my mother to complain to DTI in the harsh way since the store company it self has no time to follow up to their supplier in manila.
my ratings for customer service for Octagon Cotabato City is definitely ZERO or Negative 100%

yup octagon is really a bad company. the staff even tried to slither other reason to make me not return my may faulty psu. my story is that i just bought a brand spanking new antec platinum 650 watt psu for my gaming rig. after 2 days it suddenly makes a electric static sounds. so immediately it really is not normal for a brand new psu espesially a platinum grade to have static sounds. even if the pc is turn off and the psu is pluged in it still makes that sound. so I went to octagon sm megamall and they did replaced with with another unit but a unseald one and it has no manuals so thinking that it maybe different or a working psu I gave it a try and tested it when I got home. to my diapointment it has the same problem and makes the same noise as the first one. so logically I think that the psu he gave me is another customer rutunred it because it had that issue and the staff knowing it was a used and returned psu and still gave it to me. just wow how can people do that to people if he was in my shoes would he want that to happen to him?! damn i have to return tommorow again to get a seald one hay the hassel after this I'll forget octagon ever existed.

same experience i encountered. i bought my acer aspire one at octagon megamall. after 4 months of taking extra care with my netbook still i encounter problems. during start up, the screen became small & sometimes it hunged up easily. evethough it was repaired, the problem of my netbook is still there it wasn''t fix...

Sad to say I do have a bad experience also in OCTAGON SM Cubao yesterday. The thing is I bought a router Tenda brand and its not working properly. I asked the Manager Malou Tabaque to at least replace or change item but she insisted that the box was not intact (FYI only 1cm torn. The logic is that do everyone keep the box or for some keep it (okay)fine i just bought it 3 days ago and there is a 3day replacement and 1 year warranty ! and the sad part they did not replace it and I even ask to change item even less the price of that router! Still she implied that its the policy! Very inconsiderate...
