After talking to several construction companies we picked Mike Pizzuto of Northhill Construction to build our deck for us. We want a new deck with a fire pit in the middle. Mike showed us some pictures and gave us a very aggressive price. We were told he would use the best materials and would build everything to code. He said that once he got 50% down he would start immediately. Once we paid him he disappeared for two weeks. He told us that he had a vacation scheduled. Some guys showed up and took down our deck but in the process trampled our gardens. Mike said not to worry that he would take carry of everything by the end of the project. When they started to build the deck it was smaller than we had agreed to too. Then we notice the deck material we though we were getting Trex had been replaced by something else. Mike tried to tell us Trex is like Kleenex and all plastic deck materials are the same. We knew that it not. When they installed the firepit they did it right on top of the deck material. Mike tried to tell us that its Ok because plastic deck don't burn and since it was a gas firepit it was OK. When I talked to the city I found out that Northhill Construction never took a permit for the job. When we brought this up to Mike he said it was up to us to get the permit. I couldn't believe that he was lying to us. I told him he was fired and he said that by contract he had to pay Northhill 100% of the fee or he would put a lien on our house. We ended up paying him almost all the money and then paying a contractor the city inspector told us about $5000 to fixed the shoddy workmanship.

Mike Pizzutto and Northhill Construction are ripoff artists who take advantage of senior citizens. Don't believe anything he say and absolutely don't hire them to do anything!

We ask Northhill Construction to remove a wall to open up a room. They assured us they were very qualified and had done this type of work "all the time". They did a nice job and everything look good for about a month then the walls starting getting cracks in them. Mike Pizzutto assured us that this was normal and they would come back at 90 days to repair the cracks and this is a standard process in construction. I spoke to a friend who was a retired contractor, who then came over to see the work. He told us that NorthHill Construction had removed a bearing wall and never resupported it. He ask if we got a permit and had an engineer determine what kind of beam we needed. I never saw a permit and then called the city. The city inspector said that the reason we were getting cracks was because the wall supports were missing and that we could have serious problems if its not repaired correctly. He said that the only way we could get a permit was to have an engineer fix it. Mike Pizzuto said he would make it right but I am afraid to let him touch my house! He said since the work was done he can't refund our money
