I purchased a RO DI for reef aquarium from maxwater in late 2014. I recently called customer service (march 2015) to get parts numbers to replace all my filters for the next 2 years (order number EC8127). Upon installing filters, TDS was reading 5 ppm (it should be at 0). So I started reading more about the filter and realized that customer service recommended me the wrong filter for the last stage which is the De Ionization stage filter. The one they recommended me was a coconut shell carbon filter t33 which is not a DI.
So I called them to explain that the ppm level was to high to use the water for my reef aquarium and they told me that they could not do anything about my problem he had not the authority to replace the filters. I told them I would order one DI filter at 20$ and asked them to give me one to compensate and he also refused. So I told him with no resolution I would never order anymore and he hang up. The reason he gave me is that I don't have anything in writing! So why advertise a phone number ''ask the experts'' on their website instead of write to the experts!
