I've been purchasing J. Higgs classic crackers ever since Sav A Lot started selling them. I prefer them over any other brands. But this last pack I purchased on 7/28, 2013 had a strange smell that I didn't notice until I noticed my soup had a chemical taste. I had close to a half a package of crackers crumbled in my huge bowl of tomato soup like I normally do. I had taken many spoonfuls of soup trying to figure out what I was tasting. When I realized it was a chemical taste I quit eating the soup. After checking the remaining soup in the pot, I realized it wasn't that and then reopened the package of crackers and the smell about blew me away. I waited until tonight to open another pack of crackers to see if it also had the smell and it does. It's been over 24 hrs and my mouth is still burning from eating the crackers, I'm still dizzy but not as bad as last night and I'm still having food poison like symptoms, severe cramps, diarrhea, vomiting and the lack of appetite, mainly for fear of throwing up again. I can not pin point the chemical I'm tasting but considering I'm still sick after day 2, it must be something pretty potent.

Please check the crackers out. I'm afraid of what will happen to someone who might already be sick or a child eating these crackers. I did call the local Sav A Lot that I purchased the crackers from and they blew me off, as if it was no big deal.

The salt is unevenly applied-some salty, some not. Otherwise great!

I have been purchasing J Higgs saltine crackers at save-a-lot every since they started selling them, but lately I have noticed that the salted ones are not SALTED! I have only so much money to spend on food each month being on S.S..
Therefore I expect a certain attention to be paid as to how, these products are being made and with what! Have you people have no pride in your products or are you just out to make money off us poor people who can't afford to shop anywhere else, so therefore you just throw something together and hope it tastes good. SHAME ON YOU, YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS AND FIX THESE THINGS THAT ARE WRONG AND STRIFE TO MAKING A VERY GOOD PRODUXT THAT YOUR COMPANY CAN BE PRIDE OF!

I always have bought and used J Higgs saltine crackers but the last few boxes i have had tasted stale.
I think you guys have made a mistake and your improvements didn't work.
I am not the only one that's run up on this problem.

My husband and I purchased J Higgs saltine crackers at Big Lot for the first time last week and find them to be the BEST cracker we have tasted in a very long time. Always went with another popular name brand and always hoped they would improve them, which did not happen. These crackers went very well with the home-made vegetable soup I made today. Feb. 9th . 15
