IWantU is another adult dating site which provides annoyance and confusion, but no dates. I investigated this in Summer 2005 and did very little with it for the usual reasons: clunky site design, thin regional member roster, highly suspect profiles, and an overall sense of fraud. They never converted me to a paying member and I quit altogether within a few weeks. I haven't so much as loaded the front page since.

After nearly four years of dormancy I received email via the unique address I had given IWantU, naturally not issued from the original site but the spam gang they handed my address to. This is the only correct conclusion, as this target address was generated by an email alias service, and used exclusively for IWantU traffic, and this address was never published.

I show six spam attempts since mid-February 2009, all of them so laughably bad I wonder why the bums even bother. They all come from Hotmail accounts with user names suggesting non-US locales. So far the pitch leads with some variant of the question, 'Meds without doctor visits?', and briefly implores the recipient to follow a very long and dubious link. This we all know will mean pushing pills to either enlarge or reduce a given body part. The dumbbells cram the 'TO' and 'CC' fields with several addresses, making it blatant they are spamming many other people I don't know and potentially exposing parts of their own address collection to other spammers for free.

That IWantU unloads its dormant customer records on criminals is not surprising. The adult dating sites all do this, usually after one or two years have passed to help disguise the trail. It is a surprise IWantU took so much longer, given their pitiful site can't possibly be floating a luxurious lifestyle for its owners. I was unable to divine a street address for IWantU, but the parent company headquartered in Belize is Sagent Group, which is associated with numerous sites identified as sources of spyware and virus propagation. This suggests the sickening possibility that spamming of dormant account holders is actually managed in-house.

The spam from this site is ridiculous. I never meant to sign up for it.
