CRM Rewards Department took money out of my accountwithout proper consent

i had recieved a letter in the mail, telling me that i have won something. that i would need to call a toll-free number to claim the prize and give them the pin number supplied on the letter. i did call them. they stated that i have won a $500+ stay at a hotel resort of my choosing. that i have also been entered to win a grand prize drawing of $1 million. they also stated that i could recieve 5 different magizines of my choosing for a total of 14 payments of $16? or something in that range. they were interested in what type of credit card that i preferred to use for the benifits of the card visa, mastercard, discover. then i was asked to supply a form of payment to recieve the grand prize entry and equivelient of $1. they repeated they magizine pitch to me i said okay. ichanged my mind after she had me listin to an automated voice recorder. the lady then said goodbye and hung up the phone.i called back right away to make sure that the company of telemarketer understood what i requested and that i wanted nothing to do with their company. the operater hung up. i tried multiple times agaign requesting to speak with a supervisor, customer service representative. each time they responded that "what was done is final and connot be undone", "stating various reasons they cannot do it because of technical support", or by simply hanging up after asking for my request. during calling them multiple times i checked my card account and saw they still charged me for what i asked them to cancel at the end of my first call and multiple calls afterwards. during one call i have recorded the conversation for my records and for future legal reasons. I do believe tis company is a scam. also they have no respect for the customers they are trying to recruit. they do not listen to the full extent of the conversation only what they want to hear. if you try to question them they will respond usually in a negative manner.thru my research of the call made to the company they only had 7 people working on the recieving lines. they donnot inform you at the beginning that they are using a voice recorder. 1 legal issue to bring up besides the scam

Im not really sure if they are trying to commit Fraud but the lady on the phone told me I won a free vacation and only needed to pay the shipping fee for the certificiate. It was all very fishy and when I asked her questions about what company they were from they got very suspicious and pushy.

My husband, too, was scammed by this company! They told him it would only be a couple of dollars for these magazines and about a week later they took $69.95 out of our account. Then we received a confirmation letter in the mail stating that he agreed to buy $900 dollars worth of magazines! The letter gave him the option to cancel and he did. I called my credit union and filed a dispute(fraudulent) and got our money back for that first payment. NOW they are calling our house about two times a day saying that they are collections and we need to pay them! The first letter he received from a Lisa Eastwood, every time I call the number on it, it says 'all circuits are busy'. SCAM SCAM SCAM! My husband learned a great lesson on this one, if it sounds too good to be true, it IS! They also told my husband that they got his cell phone number from our credit card company. My next step is to contact a prosecuting attorney. I know they cant take any money from us because we filed the dispute, but now their phone calls are harassing and I wish they would stop! This company needs to be shut down!

This whole situation is very interesting. I also received the same letter in the mail. Called and women named Tracy answered (both times because the first time I got disconnected) and seemed polite. She explained to me the same thing that she has explained to everyone else. "you've been selected randomly from either a cell phone number, state name, or drivers license." I won 2 nights and 3 days at a resort of my choice, his and her watches, magazines, etc. Alls i needed to do was pay for shipping. Listen people, nothing in this world is free and if you think about it, $1 for shipping? That makes no sense; you can tell it's a scam. So I looked them up on the internet while the women was talking to me and saw that this place really is a scam. I immediatly hung up on the women...sorry lady, lol.

I just received my letter. I called the CRM Rewards Department and a woman answered who was fairly professional, asked for my pin number. I gave it to her and she told me I was chosen from the people of my state who had cell phone accounts and a license. She said I had won the 3 day 2 night stay at hotel resorts that will be listed when I receive the certificate. She told me that the only thing I would need to pay for would be shipping and the normal ground was the cheapest right now for $1.49. She did not ask for my card information. She did however ask me for my day number where I could be reached so her supervisor could reach me and verify my reward. So far so good.

So with all these scam sites and complaint boards, where are people actually saying they got ripped off? Had anyone actually gotten money stolen out of their bank accounts with this company? I have not heard of anyone actually getting money stolen out of the account yet. All I have seen is "CRM is a scam!" But I would actually like to hear from the people who ACTUALLY got scammed...

Until then, I remain optimistic...

Our daughter received the mailing from CRM Rewards. It looked suspicious from the start. The first thing we did was to pull up CRM Rewards on the Internet. Behold, listing after listing regarding CRM and its fraudulent activity. My advice for those who have 'bitten' on CRM's bogus offers, call your credit card company and cancel your card. If CRM has your credit card number, a magazine charge for $16 or $20 is the least of your worries. My guess is that CRM will be trying to use your credit card number for other purchases, much larger than the cost of a magazine. Inform your credit card company of the fraudulent activity and, after they close your compromised card, ask them to re-issue you a new card number. It should be relatively easy and more than worth the trouble to protect your credit!

I spoke to these people for 10 minutes today. I was ready to buy a subscription to Time, Motor Trend, GQ and a choice of two others for 24 months plus the gift watches and resort stay for an alleged $8.48 a week. Then she told me the only available method of payment was $48 a month for 6 months.

$8.48x24months=$203.52. $48x6=$288. When I called her on it she became very angry. I offered to pay for it all up front but nothing doing, their scam plan or no deal. She also used misleading wording implying that I would be billed later and have a chance to review my decision but when I clarified this point it turned out that was untrue also.

The woman said she never had anyone argue about the price which means that many are getting scammed without doing the math. Even if this price still seems like a good deal which I don't think it does, I would not do business with any company employing such dishonest methods. If you decide to, have your calculator handy...

PS I do have a pending charge on my card for $1 which was shipping on the resort freebie so with any luck I'll still get that. If not, disputes are easy enough to file. Update later if I think of it.

I agree...DO NOT give them you info. It is a scam. I received the letter in the mail, and proceeded to call them. I felt as though it wasn't right from the start and when the supervisor got on the phone and wanted my visa numbers i asked if i could just be billed for the $1 shipping charge. She said no and got rude on the phone. I stated that if they could give my all of this for free that they could bill me for $1. She started rambling on about magazines and being charged $3.55 a week for ALLURE and REDBOOK. I finally told her that i could buy these magazines on the street and I wasn't intrested. I feel bad for the people who fell into this. It is so wrong!

I too got this infamous letter as the rest of you. I asked them how they got my information and all the so called "representative " could tell me is that it was a random thing for credit card users, cell phone users, liscensed drivers and university students. Right then and there I did not trust it but I thought I would entertain their pathetic little operation a little longer. Every time I asked the "representative" about the payment options for the postage for mailing the information of the so called vacation package I won she could only respond by saying she was new with the company and did not know how the billing worked and that she would have to transfer me to her supervisor. Once she transferred me to her supervisor she began trying to explain what was going to be sent to me and then she asked me what kind of card I was going to use for the payment of the postage and that she would need my experation date first. That is when I asked her if they accepted any other forms of payment because I did not trust giving my card number out over the phone, she told me they also accepted checks and money orders but it would take longer to receive my information if I did it that way. I told the "supervisor" that I would send her a money order for the amount of $1.00 which is what the postage cost came up to, I did not care if it would cost me more money for the money order I was not giving my card number out over the phone. Once I told her that she said "fine, good bye" and then hung up. After I got off the phone with her I decided to google this company and see what I could find on them, that is when I found this complaint website. Once I figured out that this was fraud I called my local police department and they gave me the local fraud department number. I am going to try and stop these crimals, they do not deserve to be out there trying to steal innocent peoples money, people who actually work for a living, have a family and are trying to get a career the right way. These IMMATURE GIRLS need to be put in their place and that is a very dark place where they can not come into contact with anyone. Please help with stopping illegal operations like these and report it to your local fraud department. DO NOT feel the need the take it easy on these girls clearly they know what they are doing and deserved to suffer the consequences of their actions.

Consumers BEWARE! CRM REWARDS DEPARTMENT is still mailing "rewards" letters to the unsuspecting public. Today is June 26, 2009 and I just received a CRM letter stating that they have been trying to contact me with good news, provided an 800 telephone number to call and a Pin Number to provide. Thank goodness I went to the internet first and googled CRM REWARDS DEPARTMENT. The search provided immediate and easy to find information on this company and its history of fraudulant activities. Thank goodness for the internet. I will not be falling victim to CRM's fraudulant activities, thanks to the Complaints Board website!

Lisa Eastwood has struck again! I recieved a letter in the mail saying "We've been trying to reach you with Good News!" I don't know what I was thinking, but my mother and I called it to see what the good news was. Sure enough some lady is blabing on about how I won some credit card, phone and license drawing for my state. I got sick of listening to her so I pawned the phone off to my mother. My mother said she could hear kids in the background. That's when she just hung up on the lady.
This is totally a scam, don't waste your time listening to some chic blab and hear kids in the background. You think they could be a little bit more professional.

A few months ago, I did a survey online to receive a free $100 Walmart gift card. A few weeks ago, this company called me and told me I had won the gift card along with a free $40 gift card in gas and a free $25 gift card in dining services. I was pretty suspicious and asked repeatedly whether I could trust them. They gave me the name of their business (Customer Reward Department) from Phoenix, Arizona, and that they have been in business for 12 years or so. All I had to do was pay $3.95 to get these gift cards shipped to me. I said ok, and gave me them my name and debit card number. I'm a college student so this opportunity sounded great to me. For some reason, I gave them the wrong address, and I called back the number to change it. But it immediately said they were busy and could not take my call. I called multiple times, and the same thing happened. So when I checked my bank online, it said that they charged me $3.95 like they said. But me being a college student I only had $6 in my account, and my bank charged me $20 for security issues! Now I'm really in the hole! I called Walmart to see if they could change my address, and they said that I was probably scammed! I'm so pissed...

I have just received the very same letter, and of course te first thing I did was chck on-line with the BBB. And, well I wasn't surprised to see the "NO" in the results. Yet, when I called to confront these charlatan's, I dialed the given "800#". Well, the telephone simply rang and rang. And, eventually switched to a busy signal. So, maybe, between the time of the mailing my "Good News" announcement and my receipt of it, the organization was forced to close by the authorities. We can only hope. I intend to look into this matter further, and update you all on my progress.
