The Capitol Recovery systems in NH called me about a debt from a year earlier. I couldn't remember what I owed and asked him to send me some proof of what I owed. I never received anything from them and he kept changing what I owed. After making arrangements to pay 240.00 dollars a month which he said I had to pay that much even though I told him I couldn't afford that much he still put my name into the collection agency. When I called to complain he said it was a mistake and he would take it off. I had to call three times and I’m still not sure if it got taken off. I also called and asked if I could lower the payments because I didn't have anything for groceries and he said no. They are ruthless and rude and I hope I never have to deal with them again.

They started calling my cell number at 4AM every two minutes and then started ringing my home number. I called them back, to get the name of the company and the address to send them a certified letter to cease calling any of my numbers. They refused to give me their company name or address. I finally told them I was going to call the FBI, the guy laughed at me! Well, the joke was on him. I contacted my local FBI office and they were able to get the name for me: Capital Recovery Systems. I work in a law office, for warned them that I did - they laughed. The FBI called them and now they "are sincerely apologetic". Right! Call your local cell carrier and they can block any numbers you do not want coming into your phone. You can also do this with your land line carrier. You can also call the Attorney General's Office in and file a Complaint regarding the debt collection practices, which are in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Act. You can also file a complaint with Federal Trade Commission. They also call from numbers such as [protected] and [protected].
