Burger King - awful customer service

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to complain about your store located at 2438 East Carson St., Lakewood, CA.
I had a family pack coupon for numerous items to include chicken strips. Well, the manager said they ran out of chicken strip and would it be okay to replace them with chicken fingers. NO PROBLEM...I was good with that. Then I told her the price between the two items was different and that she should adjust the price to compensate for the difference in the items. She told me she could not do that. I told her, "You are the Assistant Manager, " "of course you can!" She then called the Manager via phone and started speaking Spanish so that I could not understand what was being said. I asked her if she understood the point I was making? It's not the fact of the money, it's the fact of the matter. That's not my problem that they ran out of chicken strips...I didn't run out of money! I'm a paying customer and I want my money's worth...RIGHT! IT'S THE PRINCIPAL! Needless to say, I didn't get the price adjustment nor did I purchase anything for them. I ended-up going to McDonald's right down the street and received WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE & FOOD!

The Assistant Manager (Yvanna) and the Manager(Lucy) are unprofessional and know nothing about CUSTOMER SERVICE! Burger King is the only hamburgers I like to eat. It's unfortunate that I had to go 1 block down the street to eat at McDonald's, which I must had 100% better CUSTOMER SERVICE. I am now hooked on their burgers and their VERY POLITE service. I would rather pay for GREAT Customer Service and Awesome burgers at McDonald's than to be treated like a second rate citizen at Burger King. This location needs to shut down! Or you need to get some training for their managers...better yet, get new management. I will wage a personal campaign and let all of my SAILORS, friends and family know to BOYCOTT BURGER KING.

I am an active duty NAVY Military Policeman who works with the general public, who knows all about how to be political, and conduct PROPER CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I placed my order through the drive thru and when I arrived at the window the girl taking my order took 5 minutes to come to the window so I could pay (she was talking to her co workers) Then I finally was able to pay and I had to ask for a receipt as she did not offer one even though I paid with credit card. Then she told me to pull around and wait for my food. There was NO ONE behind me, no one else in dt at all. I ordered a simple chicken sandwich. I pulled around where I waited 15 minutes while I saw her and co workers laughing. I then drove back through the dt, again not one customer came in that time. At the window the same girl ignored me and announced she was going on break. I explained this to another girl who was much much nicer and apologetic for this ridiculous experience. She gave me my food which was cold by that time. Worst fast food experience I have ever had. Awful awful customer service.

I know this is an old post but wanted to add an "insider view". I've been an assistant manager of a burger king for 3 years and a few commenters are correct, we can not do price adjustments, our systems are completely automated, with no option to manually change a price. Don't get me wrong, there is always the "option" of opening the drawer and giving back the cash difference, but at the end of the day if i, or one of my cashiers, writes " -$1.41 due to price adjustment" on the till envelope, even after explaining the situation, me AND/OR the cashier will be punished with a write-up because technically we are not permitted to do things like that. I do pride myself on good customer serivice, but unfortunately i would not be willing to put my job in jeopardy over one disgruntled customer.

As others have said, the Assistant Manager could not change the prices, hell, not even the Restaurant Manager can; most of the time, the prices on the tills are controlled from head office. Do you really expect low-level employees of a giant multi-national corporation to be able to change things like that at their will? Get off your high horse and get a grip on reality you self-righteous ###.

So by your reasoning, lets say I walk onto a Ford dealership lot. I want to buy a Ford Focus. They don't have any at the time I arrive. I then say I want a Ford Mustang instead for the price of a Ford Focus because they are out of the Focus.

Or, I walk into Best Buy to buy a Samsung 21" TV. They are out of Samsung TVs, except for a 52" Samsung. Should I be able to get the 52" for the price of the 21"?

Nothing wrong with complaining on the internet. Not everyone has the personality to just walk up to the store manager and start ranting. A lot of people don't complain at all and no-one, not least the burger joints, ever get to hear their story. With this site, complainers are letting out steam and also contributing to the thousands of other complaints here that make Burger King look ###.

@Supadcy- you're so fixated on being "anti-complainer" you seem to have lost the ability to acknowledge even the most ridiculous malfunctions in our society. Should BK give the same quality service and cusine as a high-end restaurant? Uhhhhm...negative. However, when someone spends their money for a certain service they should be able to EXPECT such a service, like a meal made "their way". You feel as though everyone should lower their standards and chalk it all up to bad luck? What would you do with all of your time then...?
