Claims Unlimited Dial-Up Internet Service.
After less than a month of using it, they sent me an e-mail stating that there is a cut-off point after so many hours.
They should not claim Unlimited Service. They should say Limited Service. I wasted my time and money because of their false advertising. I filed a Better Business Bureau report, but they dismissed my case. They did not give me a reason why.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

Well, I've used there services for WOW longer than I thought... 15 years... in general have been very pleased... used to use their dial up which was great on trips to different places, just needed a phone line. Unfortunately, now i'm addicted to their email address, so will probably never change.

They have always treated me right, and in general most people consider me hard to please...

Having been in business all my life, I realize there are some people that JUST CAN NOT BE PLEASED. I agree that word, definitions are stretched at times and I used to max out their "UNLIMITED USEAGE" my self, so I know it can be done in a large family. Now i'm telephone company DSL and still get drops... they send me letters that my usage is high also, but they just make it drop at times. that is very frustrating. but what can a poor user do? just put up and shut up, or go somewhere else... good luck

I've been with basic isp for over a year and find their service to be incredibly slow and unreliable (even for dialup). Not only do they provide inferior dial up, they censor and block any e-mail who's content may offend their administrators. Yes these ### go in and read personal e-mail messages and block anything they deem politically incorrect. Today these jerks suspended my e-mail account (for sending a text reply e-mail). My next call to BASIC ISP will be to cancel service.

My advice to anyone considering signing up with BASIC ISP, go somewhere else they're not worth ten bucks a month.

I keep getting a "failed message"'permanent failure.and to call support. I call support and they have no idea what i'm talking about, even though the message comes from them. Also, i have to log in numerous times at one sitting. If i log in, and then go browse a site, when i come back to my home page, i have to log in again.Anyone else getting this "run-around'"? The BBB dismissed your case because it is ridiculous. First of all, to even be notified of excessive usage, you have to using the Internet connection for over 10 hours a day?! What in the world do you need that kind of Internet access for?

Secondly, you should read the terms of service of company before you agree to do business with them if you are as unreasonable as to not abide by a few agreements, then blow up and write a ridiculous complaint like this. Try using your "unlimited" long distance for 10 hours a day and see what they have to say! You're going to have problems with any "unlimited" service if you use it that much!

Most companies will not give you ANY Internet access for less than $10 a month, or place much stricter limits on you. You lost out on an excellant service.

BasicISP does mention within its terms of service agreement that it prohibits what it determines to be dedicated or constant connectivity. They also offer a money back guarantee during the first 30 days to new customers if for any reason they are not completely satisfied with their service.
I am sorry you feel you wasted your time and money. There was no benefit to BasicISP for providing you with hours of Internet access only to have you cancel their service. I am not sure why you would advise others to stay away from this company as they are one of the few companies that are 100% American owned and operate, provide toll free customer support and a 100% money back guarantee. I am sorry it didn't work out for you but BasicISP is an honest, straight forward company that is highly rated throughout the Internet.
