Allstate Insurance / uncaring, lazy agents

Our furnace fell though the floor, when my husband called our agent, Tim Hogan, we were told it would not be covered. He asked if someone could at least come and look at the damage to see if anything could be covered we were told someone would call us back within the hour. Two hours later we called back only to be told that no one would be coming out. We had been loyal customers with Allstate for 19years and have only filed a total of 3 claims totaling about $4, 000 for all of our accounts. I don't think it was to much to ask for them to come out and look at our problem or at least call us back like they said they were going to. I thought it was better to stick with a big company like Allstate but apparently I was wrong.

    I agree with the uncaring agents complaint which I why I switched insurance companies a few years back. Recently, I visited my old agent, Raymond Lamantia of 8009 Kenton Ave. Skokie, Illinois. to get a quote for a life insurance. He could've done this via e-mail but I was duped into meeting with him. The minute I walked in, he immediately directed me to a financial specialist to try to sell me financial products such as IRA's, Mutual Funds while he worked on the other automobile and home insurance quote that I also asked for.

    After informing the Financial Specialist that I was not interested, he immediately worked on the life insurance quote and asked me 3 times for a deposit. After giving the deposit, I was immediately disposed of and passed on to my old agent. Since he wasnt done with the quotes, I patiently sat and waited. He then told me to go home and he'll send the quotes via e-mail. I wasted my time visiting his office during my lunchtime at work in order for him to send me the quotes via e-mail. Because of this action, I called his office later that afternoon to cancel the life insurance quote and get my deposit back. One of his staff answered the phone rudely, and because he talked to me in a such a way that I found unprofessional, I called him back and let him know how I felt.

    Instead of dealing with me in a professional manner, he went on and on until I felt I was baited into an emotional response . I called him two derogatory words that described a noun and let it be. Later that same night, I received a call from Raymond Lamantia - and received a tongue lashing on establishing my credibility with him. Instead of diffusing the situation, all he did was added fuel to the fire. It's funny how they advertised this on their website - "You deserve a relationship with a real person, that's our stand". Raymond Lamantia's actions completely contradicted that statement.
