Purchased a kitten in feb. 2020. My kitten developed a genetic disease caused from breeding a fold with another cat with folded genes. Osteochondrodysplasia, a developmental abnormality that affects cartilage and bone development. My poor kitten can no longer jump and will soon not be able to walk. I have contacted this breeder twice and no response! Buyer beware! Vet said I will have to eventually put the kitten down. Ethical breeders do proper testing and will not breed if this gene is present. I am so sad that my baby kitten can barely walk and this breeder refuses to respond to my emails. I am also now out several hundreds of dollars in vet bills and this is only the beginning.
Contract reads she will refund if the kitten dies within a year from genetics.
OMG this is so sad. I'm sorry. I had the same result from a breeder in FL. We only had our baby for 3 weeks and he got to the point where he was just laying there screaming in pain even when dosed with heavy pain meds. Made the decision to euthanize him at that time. I'm so sorry. I know exactly what you're going through. These damn breeders don't give a [censored] about the kittens suffering and the pain the families go through. All they care about is the money they're making from selling so many of them! Disgusting and greedy!
