City-Data.com Cautionary Review: Helpful Advice But Beware of Racism and Condescension on Forums

This website can be quite helpful if you're looking for advice on where to live or work. However, there are certain forums that are rife with racism and condescension. If you don't have a lot of money or if you're not interested in certain topics, be prepared to get ridiculed for it.
It's quite unfortunate because there are some nice people on the site who try to provide helpful information, but they are often drowned out by the aggressive and intolerant members. It's particularly frustrating when trying to have a discussion on political topics, as the conversation quickly devolves into Trump vs. liberal and there's no room for nuance.
One issue I've noticed is that people are very quick to recommend extreme solutions to what might be relatively minor problems. For example, if you're having trouble with a noisy neighbor, people will tell you to move instead of suggesting more realistic solutions.
Despite these issues, there are some specialized forums that can be quite helpful. For instance, the economics, genealogy, and automotive forums tend to be more focused and people provide good information.
All in all, I would recommend using this site with caution. It can be a useful tool, but you need to be careful not to get bogged down in negative, unhelpful conversations.

City-Data.com City-Data.com Review: Misleading Info and Sensitive Mods, Proceed with Caution

Let me tell you about City-Data.com, the mods there are some of the hardest people on the internet and I just can't understand how they are moderating a site. It's beyond me. I heard that most of the mods are employees of advameg.com, which also owns City-Data.com, making it like their favorite site. You have to be very careful when posting anything related to illegals or homeless people because some mods will just ban you. I've had friends banned just because they asked a question about moderating process there! These mods on City-Data.com have ultra-thin skin - that's a fact.

One thing I noticed on City-Data is that they tend to favor liberal ideas because they are based in Illinois. I noticed a pattern where if you have a conservative point of view, your comments will get taken down. Maybe if we can get all the people together who have been wronged by City-Data.com, we could file a class action lawsuit and maybe seek some retribution.

Another thing that I noticed about City-Data.com is that most of the information they provide is inaccurate. You can't solely rely on data from them or other posters because their data is not accurate, and people are only allowed to post somewhat positive comments about the city. If you say anything negative or try to tell the truth about the city, you risk getting banned or getting infractions. It's crazy to me how they haven't been sued yet just for this alone.

In conclusion, proceed with caution while using City-Data.com, and don't trust every piece of information you see on their site. It's an ultimately misleading website with sensitive mods.

There’s been polls and the majority are Right Wing. The Mods are RW. Most of us who present facts and lean left mostly leave or are banned. I’m next. My posts are deleted daily now. Very biased forum.

City-Data.com City-Data.com: A Disappointing Experience with Incompetent Moderation

I come across the website city-data.com while looking for social statistics information for my area. I joined the site on June 6th, around 11 am, hoping to find some useful data that would help me with my project. However, my experience on the site was far from what I had hoped.

Within a few hours of joining, I was accused of being a previously banned member by one of the site's "regular trolls." It only took a few more hours for me to be banned from the site entirely. The moderators claimed to log IP addresses and verify users, but I can tell you for a fact that they did not do so in my case.

I tried to reason with the moderators, explaining that I am well known in my area and that a simple check would have proven my innocence, but they ignored my pleas. It seems that the moderators on this site lack the emotional intelligence and maturity to do their jobs effectively.

Upon further investigation, I discovered that there are about a dozen "regulars" in my geographic area with tens of thousands of posts. These users seem to have the power to ban anyone they don't like, whether or not the ban is justified.

I did write to both moderators for my area, but they simply ignored me. They seem to want users to beg for reinstatement, which is not something I'm willing to do. I'm an adult, and I shouldn't have to plead with moderators on a website.

Overall, I think city-data.com could be a good website if the moderators were more competent. Sadly, this is not the case. If you have free time to waste on social media, I suggest looking elsewhere. This site is not worth your time.

It's a shame that a site with the name "city data" would be so lacking in factual data and accurate information. I was hoping for a reliable source of information on my area, but my experience on this site has taught me to lower my expectations.

City-Data.com Mixed review of City-data.com: Helpful resource, but beware of strict rules and inconsistent mods

City-data.com is one of those websites that you have to approach with caution. It's a place where you can find information about different cities across the country, but it's also a place that's owned by a company that sets the rules. And those rules can be pretty strict.

I've been on the site on and off for about three years now, and I've had my fair share of run-ins with the moderators. Sometimes I'll get a demerit for posting something that's slightly off-topic, and other times it's for something that's completely innocent.

Take yesterday, for example. I was responding to a thread about homosexuality being an abnormality, and I got a demerit for not staying on subject. But the thing is, the thread had already been derailed by other commenters, and I was just trying to bring it back on track. And then someone else posted a religious comment that had nothing to do with the original post, and that comment was left up for everyone to see. It just didn't make any sense.

So, I went back on the next day and tried to get the inconsistent moderator to remove the religious comment and my other posts, but it was no use. They didn't seem to care about consistency, and it was just a frustrating experience overall.

But, I suppose that's just how it goes on City-data.com. It's a site that's supposed to be all about free speech, but the moderators don't seem to like any sort of attacks or name-calling. And that can be pretty prevalent throughout the site.

Overall, I would say that City-data.com is a bit of a mixed bag. It can be a great resource if you're looking for information about a particular city, but you have to be prepared for some strict rules and inconsistent moderators. It's just not worth the frustration sometimes.

City-Data.com City-Data.com: Condones Cyberbullying and Unjustly Suspends Members for Standing Up Against Animal Abuse

I have been a member of City-Data.com since '11. Recently, I had an issue with the moderators of the site. I got what they call an "infraction" for something that I believe was not right. I got suspended for 20 days. My crime? Protecting myself from a group of dog haters in a thread about a mailman who sprayed tear gas in a dog's face.

I am very passionate about animal abuse, and reading posts that justify killing an animal like it is nothing filled me with immense rage. A particularly disturbing post was by a member named Soviet, who suggested putting a "hatchet through its head." I couldn't believe it when I saw other posters say things like "I'd just shoot the dog." It was appalling to me.

So, I wrote that maybe this mailman should find another job, and The Clique ganged up on me. They said some hurtful things that reminded me of high school bullying. I left the thread and found a sanctuary thread about cyberbullying. I thought that would be a safe place for me until the bullies followed me there and continued to pick on me.

I expected the moderators to follow their own rules. In particular, their definition of "personal attacks." Telling another poster they need "psychiatric help" qualifies as a personal attack, and one particular bully named LuvsArkansas violated that several times with no consequences.

I felt like I had no choice but to defend myself. The bullies assumed they knew everything about me and continued until I was in tears. I had to take a break, and when I came back, I found out that I had been banned for 20 days.

City-Data.com is allowing cyberbullying and even condoning it. I have never seen such a terrible group of people than the bullies on that forum.

City-Data.com City-Data.com - Once Fantastic, Now a Platform for Extremist Views and Propaganda

I joined CD way back in 2007 when I had an insatiable curiosity to explore different states across America and was looking for some top-notch tips on the most interesting places to visit. Back then, I thought City-Data.com was simply fantastic. But over time, things seem to have taken a turn for the worse.

These days, the forum appears to have become just a hotbed of fanatical pro-Russia sentiments and conspiracy theories in support of MAGA. It's a place where any healthy discussion or debate has long disappeared. Honestly, the politics forum is nothing short of disgraceful, with almost no moderation to speak of.

If you attempt to correct any misguided statements or fake news, even in the most polite way possible, get ready to face a tirade of insults and verbal abuse from the angry mob of around twenty highly active posters. I'm almost certain that it's only three or four people posting from multiple accounts. All their comments come thick and fast - usually around 3-4 minutes apart. It's pretty apparent that they're not randomly generated since when you look at their profiles, they're all tightly “friended” and appear to be working like some kind of conservative mafia, posting multiple threads intended to reach as many people as possible to help spread their disinformation.

Prepare to be labeled a democrat, an idiot, stupid, or any other form of derogatory term, or even worse accused of being a member of ANTIFA or BLM if you dare consider not voting for the Republican way. These so-called prolific posters will accuse you of hating your own country, be labeled a shill for Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden, and even assigned with TDS (Trump derangement syndrome), just because you dare disagree with any of them. It doesn't really matter what the topic is, you could start a discussion about healthcare and magically end up with the same partisan crowd steering it towards five or six different conspiracy theories. The frustrating thing is that they all eventually seem to lead to one end: the Elections.

What I find particularly distressing is the way CD seems to be spreading disinformation about both the Ukrainian war and other related issues. It's upsetting to see a forum that was once so engaging and informative be turned into a platform for extremist views and propaganda. I've decided to log out for good and never return.

I highly doubt City-Data.com ever reads these reviews, but if they ever do, my advice to them would be to take a stand for a change. They need proper and balanced moderation to prevent the seeming brainwashing of so many unthinking users from continuing. Otherwise, they'll lose countless more decent people and be left with nothing but bots and the same crazy conspiracy theorists.

City-Data.com City-Data.com: A Haven for Disenfranchised Trolls and Baby Boomers

This website, City-Data.com, is something else. Now, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I can say with confidence that this site has a lot of opinions that are just plain wackadoodle. It seems like only a few people are active on here, but they keep changing their screen names just to make it look like there are more people than there actually are. Surprisingly enough, these people all seem to have one thing in common - they hate anything and anyone that isn't a baby boomer.

If you ask a question in the forum for your geographical location, it won't take long for one of the few people who post on this site to track you down like a bloodhound. If they find you posting anywhere else, they'll jump on you and try to figure out your whole life story, regardless of the relevance. Also, if you want to avoid getting frustrated by all the nonsense people spout in the Relationship section, don't even bother reading it.

At the beginning of a thread, things usually look okay. But by page two, everyone starts getting rude and attacking each other. The CD people always want more information, even if it's personal and you want to keep it to yourself, and if you hold back, be prepared for the worst. They'll accuse you of lying or call you terrible names. Expect to get a lot of negativity if you're a liberal, educated, a resident of a city that shares walls, have an HOA, believe in gun control, don't care about purebred dogs, think a small living space shouldn't have too many dogs, need relationship advice, don't like granite countertops, bought a new car, pay attention to hygiene, have trouble with your parents, don't have trouble with your parents, are a manager, don't quit your job, or want to live somewhere popular and nice. This seems to be the go-to place for disenfranchised trolls.

Despite all the negative stuff running rampant on this site, there is a small group of people who seem to own the place. They rule it like their own little kingdom, with their two dozen screen names and personalities. If you're feeling brave, go ahead and check it out, but it's at your own risk.

City-Data.com Review of City-Data.com: Popular Politics Forum and Moderators

There are many different forums available on City-Data.com, but the most popular one seems to be Politics and Other Controversies forum. I can say from personal experience that this forum can be quite an eventful place, with all sorts of discussions and debates going on. However, some reviewers seem to think that the forum is filled with "neo nazis" and "white supremacists". I beg to differ though. To be honest, I think that these reviewers are just people who like to be nasty and rude to others.

The site is home to more liberals than right-wingers, and most of the mods aren't Republicans either. While it's true that people do get banned from the forums, it's usually because they were directly insulting someone or repeatedly breaking the rules. For example, you can't just call someone an "idiot" without consequences.

There are many different forums on this site besides Politics and Other Controversies. Some of the other forums are okay, but not always worth your time, where you can spend hours talking about things like TV shows. However, if you're looking to use this site for relocating, I wouldn't recommend it. Based on my own experience and what I've seen others go through, people here can be quite nasty and unwelcoming, especially if you're new to the area.

Now let's talk about the moderators. Some of them are great - they're fair, impartial, and always abide by the rules. But others have a tendency to be biased and show favoritism towards certain users. In particular, the moderators on Politics and Other Controversies are often just as rude and nasty as the users they're supposed to be moderating. It's not always clear how some of these individuals became moderators in the first place.

Finally, while City-Data.com might be a fun place to pass the time, it's not the best resource for high-quality information or debate. Too many people here seem more interested in bickering than meaningful discussion. And, as previously mentioned, some of the moderators are just not up to the task. So, if you're looking for reliable information or a useful resource, you might want to look elsewhere.

City-Data.com Avoid This Terrible Site: A Review of a Misleading and Toxic Platform

This site is just terrible, and it's crazy how it comes up first in search results. That's why I found myself using it, and I'm sure that's how other people end up there too. Once you sign up, though, you're stuck. There's no way to cancel your account, which is totally frustrating.

The forums are the worst part of the site. There are these moderators who are always censoring things, and then there are a few users who are totally obnoxious. I swear, some of them must not have any life outside of these forums. They're always posting this inane nonsense about their state or city being better than yours. It's really childish. And then there are the personal attacks and stuff, which is just not okay. It feels like being in a really bad comments section on YouTube.

There's this group mentality too, where if you're a new user and you don't go along with what the old-timers are saying, you get in trouble. I even got scolded for bringing up actual facts! It's like logic doesn't even matter to these people.

I can't even imagine why this site exists. All it seems to do is give a platform for people who are unstable and delusional. Seriously, there's this underlying tone on the site that seems really extreme-right wing. If you want actual information about a place, this is absolutely the worst site to go to. All you'll find is opinions that aren't based in reality at all. Avoid it like the plague.

City-Data.com City-Data.com: A Review of the Website and its Community

City-Data.com is a website that provides information about different parts of the world. The website is aimed at people who are thinking about moving to a new place or just traveling. It also offers a forum section where people can discuss a variety of topics. The website is fast-loading and simple, which is a good thing in my opinion. There is no unnecessary bloatware or scrolling through endless amounts of text to find what you are looking for. The information is divided into pages which are easy to navigate. Overall, I would give the website one star just for its design. I cannot rate it any lower.

I thought City-Data could be a substitute for social networking, which it was for a while. However, I found that the website is filled with bossy people who are always ready to impose their views on others. It is like an angry small town! One example of this is a thread where someone asks why poor people suffer from malnutrition. The OP goes on to say that they received a food stamp card but couldn't live off the food. This seems like trolling to me, and I made the mistake of commenting on it. I said, "Please do not get a job as a social worker. You'd just never understand." The mods trimmed my comment, which was my only infraction. I learned from this and started putting more detail in my comments. However, there are too many troll threads on this website. They are race-baiting and make every member of the majority look like a racist. They also look down on the poor and think that fast food and retail employees are scum.

If you want to ask a question about a place you want to move to, City-Data members will tell you to "Get a job." They don't want to hear it unless you have a job. They think minimum wage is not a job. I found a thread about small towns that I thought was a legitimate debate. The OP mentioned that the residents are uneducated and driving through the town made them uncomfortable. This got a bunch of angry small town people to do what they are good at: being angry. There was a mod who joined in instead of locking the thread. A second mod ended up locking the thread, but there was no mention of infractions for the troll mod. I left the site forever after my topics about hostile environments at fast food and retail stores were deleted. These topics were about customers who filmed workers (usually minority workers) and provoked them, ruining their reputation by posting on tabloid journalism sites. One such incident got a Burger King worker fired after provoking the worker until she lost her temper and attacked. Another thread topic was a casual observation that Burger King is not The Wiener's Circle. These topics got deleted, but I didn't receive any infraction warnings.

In conclusion, I am not trying to offend anyone, and I apologize for any bad grammar. I hope this helps you to understand why I think you shouldn't rely too much on City-Data.

City-Data.com Banned for expressing diverse opinions on city-data.com: A breeding ground for right-wing toxic ideology

I wanted to share my experience on city-data.com's forums, which I thought would be a great platform to express my thoughts about the area where I live. I found a thread that discussed the neighborhood and the local diversity, which I thought was a good starting point to share my thoughts. Unfortunately, what I saw instead was quite alarming. The forum seemed to be a breeding ground for racists and bigots who were intolerant of diverse opinions.

I tried to express my views, and I respectfully disagreed with their narrow-minded perspectives. To my utter surprise, I faced an immediate permanent ban from the forum with the ridiculous accusation of being a previous user in disguise. I decided to raise my voice and appealed for the ban, only to find that my IP address was blocked for good.

I cannot wrap my head around the fact that I was banned merely for having a different opinion and not agreeing with the majority's intolerant views. I did not use any obscenities, hateful language, or even insult anyone; I just presented my perspective. It was clear that the moderators could not tolerate any opinion that did not align with their agenda.

To make matters worse, the moderator scoured through my posts and deleted the ones that appreciated the local diversity and cultural richness. The thread that was once a positive discussion about diversity was now edited maliciously to demonize the non-white population in my neighborhood, which made me visibly furious.

In conclusion, city-data.com's forums are a breeding ground for toxic, right-wing ideology and ultra-conservative views. If you believe in free speech, healthy discourse, and diverse opinions, stay far away from this vile platform.

City-Data.com Controversies Surrounding Citydata Forums: Allegations of White Supremacy and Censorship

Citydata forums is an interesting platform to discuss things related to cities and their data. However, there are some controversies that surround this forum. Some people claim that this is a white supremacist forum that does not allow other views to be heard. According to these claims, the conservative view point is actively promoted there, while other opinions are shut down.

One of the main issues with this forum is the moderators' tendency to lock threads abruptly when someone challenges the conservative views presented there. This can be problematic if the forum is trying to promote a healthy debate and exchange of ideas. It also raises concerns about possible censorship and bias in the moderation process.

Another problem that some people have with this forum is the presence of regular posters who make it their mission to disparage black people and black history. These posters allegedly promote racist lies and ideologies when it comes to issues related to African Americans. For instance, some of them are said to be obsessed with trying to deAfricanize ancient Egypt, which is a way of denying the African roots of this civilization.

Moreover, it is claimed that there are paid personnel/accounts that periodically post antagonistic comments to attract conservative racists to the platform. When someone tries to set the record straight about the true history of black people, their account may be disabled in the middle of a discussion without formally banning that account. This is a sneaky tactic that makes it appear as if the person behind the account bowed out of a debate or discussion.

All in all, it is clear that some people perceive Citydata forums as an extremely racist platform. They believe that it allows white supremacists to disparage black African people and that it will ban those who rebut their lies. While these claims may be exaggerated, they certainly raise questions about the moderation practices and the inclusivity of this forum. It is important to keep an open mind and a critical eye when engaging with any online community.

City-Data.com City-Data: A Disappointing Platform for Financial and Career Guidance - A Personal Review

I discovered City-Data when I was looking for some guidance about finances, teaching, and job hunting. At first, I thought it was a great platform with knowledgeable moderators and contributors. However, things quickly took a turn for the worst.

I received multiple infractions from the moderators for minor mistakes, while also being attacked by some baby boomer users on the site. The forums seemed filled with people who were trying to tear others down. I got so fed up that I found myself telling the mod to "go get a real job" which ended up with a lifetime ban.

The posters on City-Data were rude, judgmental, and quick to criticize. When I asked for advice about moving to a cheaper place, instead of relevant and helpful guidance, they suggested that I should drop my cable instead of finding a less expensive place. That advice made zero sense since my rent was more than the cost of cable.

To make matters worse, some posters would even pick on my grammar skills. While City-Data is not an academic website, it is disappointing that I was being attacked for something so trivial. It was disheartening to see that some users were enjoying putting others down instead of offering help.

I would not recommend City-Data to young, liberal, or black people. Every time I tried to engage in a debate or discussion, I was met with individuals who were giving terrible advice or making comments that were not helpful at all.

In conclusion, if you want a platform that is inclusive and safe, City-Data is not the right place for you.

City-Data.com My Disappointing Experience with City-Data.com: Unmoderated Forum Members & Deleted Posts

I had an interesting experience with City-Data.com when I tried to share my observations about Christus Saint Vincents hospital. As someone who used to be a patient there and later worked on a contract there, I thought I could provide valuable insights to other members who were inquiring about the hospital. However, things didn't go as expected.

First of all, I was flamed off by other forum members like DagneyT63 and Greater Santa Fe who didn't appreciate my observations. Their aggressive remarks towards me were not moderated by the website's moderator, Poncho M. In fact, Poncho M later deleted my posts altogether and left a strange comment from Dagney that said "I hope you find happiness here". It was quite bizarre, to say the least.

But that wasn't the end of it. When I returned a year later to reply to a new member about Christus Saint Vincents, Poncho M immediately deleted my post again and accused me of trolling. That's when I decided to push back and sent Poncho M a rather colorful PM, which resulted in me getting banned from the website.

As a traveling Native American, I don't appreciate being told to "go back to NYC" by forum members who don't know anything about me or my background. It's frustrating that City-Data.com allows such behavior to go unchecked and even punishes members who speak up against it.

So if you're looking for a website where you can freely share your thoughts on Santa Fe, NM without fear of moderation or banning, I suggest staying away from City-Data.com. It's simply not worth the hassle and frustration.

City-Data.com Citydata.com: Once Helpful, Now a Haven for Right-Wing Extremists and Conspiracy Theorists

citydata.com was once a great site that provided valuable help to locals and those looking to move to new locations. When I first joined back in 2013, I enjoyed participating in the forums and getting insights from people who knew the area well. However, things have taken a turn for the worse recently.

The site has been overrun by right-wing extremists who are given free rein to post lies and conspiracy theories without any consequences. They seem to have no problem insulting "liberals" and "Lefties", accusing them of the very things that GOP and alt-right are often guilty of. Even when presented with clear and irrefutable evidence to the contrary, they refuse to acknowledge the truth.

Many of us who have tried to engage in honest debate and discussion have been banned for life without warning, and labeled as "trolls" simply for disagreeing with the extremist views that dominate the site. To make matters worse, the management and moderators seem to be complicit in this behavior, allowing known conspiracy theorists and projectionists to remain in good standing.

Even avoiding the politics section of the forums provides no reprieve, as these perpetrators seem to be everywhere. The rules that are supposed to govern the site are meaningless, and the racists who are allowed to roam free to spread their lies and hate are like Johnny Appleseed, hoping for a bumper crop of like-minded fools.

It is obvious that there is much influence on citydata.com by anti-American actors who seek to spread disinformation in order to undermine our democracy. Therefore, it is clear that the origins of this deceit need to be thoroughly investigated like any other act of espionage. Until action is taken to stop these malicious forces from spreading their propaganda, it is difficult to recommend this site to anyone seeking honest and informed insights into cities and neighborhoods across the country.

City-Data.com Unfairly Banned from City-Data.com for Defending My Views and Speaking the Truth as a Liberal

I gotta say, I been tryna figure out what happened to me on City-Data.com for the last couple days, but I can't find nobody to talk to about it. So, I'm just gonna tell ya'll what went down and let you be the judge. I'm a liberal, and I ain't shy about saying that. I joined the site just a couple days ago on 4/28/21, and I was banned for life on 4/30/21. They said I was trolling or something like that, but they didn't give me no explanation or nothin'. I only made five posts before I got the boot. And let me tell ya, them five posts wasn't nothin' but me correcting some right-wing Trumpers who was spewin' some wrong information and some racist garbage. I ain't sayin' I was perfect with my language, but I was just defending myself and callin' out some ignorance when I saw it, you know what I'm sayin'? When Biden was givin' his state of the union address, these people was talkin' all kinds of smack about Pelosi and Kamala Harris, and I just couldn't let that slide. So, I spoke up and said they was actin' real immature. And what happened? Banned. Can you believe it?

Now, I ain't got no way to prove what I'm sayin', 'cause I can't even find where to reach out to the moderators on that site. I ain't never seen such a thing. It's like they just want to silence anyone who don't agree with their crazy way of thinkin'. I been a Wildlife biologist and veterinary technologist for 50 years, and I know a thing or two about what's goin' on in this world. But these folks on City-Data.com don't want to hear it, no sir. And I don't understand why. The first post I made was about something that happened to me back in 1978 when I was in Fort Worth, Texas. I saw an undocumented immigrant get killed at a dairy by a white woman, and them folks just buried him in Weatherford, Texas like he ain't nothin'. His name was Ceverio. I don't know if that had anything to do with why I got banned, but it's starting to look like it might. Maybe they just don't want anyone speakin' the truth on their site. Who knows?

Anyway, the bottom line is this: if you're a liberal or anyone who don't agree with the right-wing nutjobs on City-Data.com, don't waste your time. They'll just ban you like they did me. And you won't be able to say nothin' to nobody about it. It's a dang shame, I tell ya.

City-Data.com Review of City-Data Forums: A Once-Fun Community Now Overrun with Right-Wing Extremism

I joined City-Data forums way back in 2008, and I gotta say, it's been a wild ride. Recently, however, I'm afraid I was given the boot for good. Gosh darn it! But hey, it's probably for the best. Let me tell you, the forums used to be a hoot and a half! People from all walks of life would gather 'round and just shoot the breeze. It was great! But then things started to change somewhere around 2015 or so, and now I'm feeling pretty blue about the whole thing.

The problem, you see, is that the site has gone ultra right wing. I mean, it's EVERYWHERE, man! Not just the Politics & Controversies forums, but ALL of them! And boy howdy, do they love to argue! It's non-stop back and forth with the crazy conspiracies and political nonsense, and it just never seems to end. The worst part is that it leans so heavily to the right that it'll make your head spin! Good luck trying to make a point when everyone else is drunk off the right-wing Kool-Aid.

I gotta tell you, the forums have gone from being a fun way to pass the time to a genuine cause of stress and anxiety. There's FAR too much racism, sexism, transphobia, and anything else you care to think of. The place is just crawling with people who've got sticks up their butts about anyone who isn't exactly like them! And of course, they all worship the ground Donald Trump walks on! It's enough to make you wanna tear your hair out!

The moderators there are pretty darn strict if you ask me. I've been put in time-out more than once for saying something dumb or "funning things up," as they say. To be honest, sometimes I just don't get it. But hey, that's life, right?

All in all, even though I'm bummed to have been given the heave-ho, part of me is kinda glad to be out from under the thumb of those right-wing dictator-types. I doubt I'll be heading back over there anytime soon, if ever. So long, City-Data forums! It's been a slice!

City-Data.com An Honest Review of City-Data.com: Potential Platform with Room for Improvement

City-Data.com is a pretty solid sharing site that caters to all sorts of topics from different places and discussions. It's got great potential to truly become the best platform out there, and it's all thanks to the community that supports it.

I've been an online user since 1986, and I even owned some pretty large forums and moderated them myself. Plus, I have some patents, trademarks, and copyrights under my belt, so I definitely know how things work in these parts. However, no matter how much I try to abide by the rules, I keep getting infractions and, unfortunately, even banned for a couple of days or weeks.

The reason behind this is because they keep insisting that the charts and other pictures I embed are copyright violations, even if they came from sites that have declared that they want the images distributed and without any claims of copyright. It can be pretty frustrating when a government chart, something that taxpayers like me have already paid for, can get someone banned. The dialog box that pops up when you insert an image even says, "Make sure you have permission," yet even when I do, I'm still accused of breaking the rules.

It's a shame because City-Data.com has potential. I think the owner should be more involved and update some of its strict regulations, or at the very least, make sure that the dialog boxes correspond to the site's terms of service.

On another note, other users here are convinced that the moderators tend to focus on moderate, centrist, and progressive individuals; the real vocal group (Right), however, seems to never get banned even when they engage in bigotry, racism, name-calling, and so on. It's a shame that charts with government data can get someone banned, yet hate speech somehow doesn't get monitored as much.

City-Data.com City-Data.com: A Haven for Hateful, Right-Wing Extremists with Outdated Data

This website, City-Data.com, is a terrible excuse for a website that is run by a group of pathetic individuals. Most of the individuals who post on this website are cowardly and lack real-world experience. If someone expresses an intelligent opinion, they are quickly removed from the website and replaced with ignorant, right-wing extremist rubbish.

If you visit any of the popular postings for cities, you will see countless race-baiting threads. Someone merely has to ask a narrow question or provide a narrow opinion, and hordes of fellow ignoramuses take the bait. The general forums are used to discriminate against minority groups, women, low-income people, homosexuals, Muslims, atheists - anyone who has a culture or lifestyle that the users are unable to understand. These are some of the most hateful, psychotic, passive-aggressive individuals to ever exist in online platforms. It is apparent that they are not mentally stable and feel powerful only when behind their computer screens, in the computer chairs they are glued to indefinitely.

This site is utterly useless for anyone who is not ignorant and capable of complex, logical reasoning. Facts are frowned upon here too. The previous reviewers understand how ridiculous this site is, and you will too if you take the time to explore it. If you come across similar sites like this, such as Topix or Stormfront, it would be best to avoid them altogether.

Furthermore, their actual data is outdated. Be careful when utilizing the data posted on their website. I have checked it against the actual census data, and most of it turned out to be estimates and projections, which are not entirely accurate. If you are looking for accurate information, visiting the US Census Bureau website is far more reliable. So, do yourself a favor and steer clear of this website and its outdated statistics.

City-Data.com Beware of Politics Forum on City-Data.com: Extreme Right-Wing Views, False News, and Bans on Contradictions

City-Data.com is a site that consists of state forums and a politics forum. While the state forums are ok in many ways, if you are not careful, some real estate agents may persuade you to do business with them. Also, others who belong to the right-wing will try to convince you that all cities run by Democrats are awful. However, the real problem lies in the politics forum. After a recent member age poll, it was discovered that most of them are over 50 years old. A lot of them post extreme right-wing views, such as slavery being ok in the South, black people being lazy, and Democrats deserving to die. They also post a lot of false news acquired from sites known for posting wrong information.

If you attempt to argue with evidence pointing out their flaws, the mods – who are also right-wing – will ban you immediately with the comment "troll." It's quite disappointing that freedoms of expression are not respected here, whereas in the state forums, you need only be cautious of individuals who attempt to coerce you. Members such as Rachel976, TheGoodTheBadTheUgly, Oldglory write extreme Alt-Right positions, often found in the posts. Rachel976 frequently posts articles that may offend many who share Jewish heritage and are sensitive to the harmful stereotypes associated with such views.

To give you an idea, Rachel976 has shared ideas like, would black people be happy if they receive a money check from the government due to slavery? Also, she suggests Jews must fight/kill Arabs and vote for Republicans if they know what's good for them. Sometimes it's hard to believe some people are willingly sharing these ideas publicly. Despite these shocking statements shared on the site, it still attracts individuals who love spreading lies to unknowing folks. In conclusion, City-Data.com may be trash for those looking for honest dialogue and should be approached with caution.
