Prior to the broadcast of Murder by the Sea on Sunday 11 September 2022 at 9.00 p.m. CBS Reality provided a pre-broadcast announcement that the program to be broadcast contained strong language. As I do not view any program that contains swearing, I discontinued viewing. I do not wish to be confronted by offensive swearing in the perceived comfort and safety of my own home. On discussing this program with a relative this morning, I was informed that the broadcast did not include any strong language and that it would have been safe for me to have viewed the program. It is a program that I do usually view and I would have normally viewed this particular broadcast except for the strong language warning. As I have been informed that the broadcast did not include any strong language could you please advise exactly what you are trying to pull, here? Providing incorrect information is extremely unhelpful and, on this occasion, has denied me the ability to have viewed the broadcast. Furthermore, incorrect information means that future information provided cannot be trusted resulting in a confused, not fit-for-purpose system materializing. I am sure that this is not a situation that Ofcom intended as this results in no broadcast being able to be viewed because the content can never be trusted along with the pre-broadcast information provided. This is a most serious situation with far-reaching consequences. Please explain.

License payers deserve better than this, but I await your explanation before deciding upon what further action I may need to take.

Desired outcome: Reassurances for the future. Gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience and diatress of missing the broadcast and for the causing of this correspondence.
