Disappointing Experience with CatholicMatch: Not Worth the Money or Time
I was really excited to try out CatholicMatch, an online dating website for Catholics. I was hoping to find someone who shared my values and beliefs. I was tired of other dating websites where guys didn't seem to care about anything other than themselves. I was hoping that CatholicMatch would be different.
Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my experience. None of the people who contacted me were people I would consider dating. They were all uneducated and didn't seem to care about proper grammar and spelling. Some of them weren't even local! I tried writing to a few people, but none of them even bothered to write back. I felt disrespected and frustrated.
It's really disappointing to see people on CatholicMatch claiming to have Catholic values and be kind and caring, but then not actually living up to those values. I'm not sure how anyone is supposed to find a good Catholic person on this website. I certainly didn't have any luck.
I spent $75 to join CatholicMatch, and I regret it. I don't think it was worth the money at all. In fact, I wonder if some of the people on there are even real. They claim that everyone is legit, but I have my doubts. I think they might have profiles that are just there to bait people into joining.
Overall, I would not recommend CatholicMatch to anyone. Save your money and buy yourself something nice instead. Don't waste your time on this website. I would give it zero stars if I could.
Review of CatholicMatch: Improvements Needed for Belief Questions, Profile Photos, and Privacy Settings
There are a few things that I have noticed about CatholicMatch that I think could be improved upon. Firstly, the questions about beliefs, specifically regarding contraception, could be more detailed. While many people may say they agree with the Catholic Church's teachings on contraception, it is important to know if they actually practice what they preach. Contraception comes in many forms, including sterilization, and it is important to know if a potential partner has used it in the past. This can be a good indicator of their character and values.
Secondly, I have noticed that many of the men on the site appear unkempt in their photos. This could be due to hygiene issues, which can be a turn-off for many people. It is important to take care of oneself and present oneself in the best possible light when looking for a partner.
In my experience, I have found that being upfront about my beliefs and values has been helpful in finding a compatible partner. I recommend not dating anyone who has used contraception in the past, as this can eliminate potential partners who do not share your values. It is important to go after the "real flowers" and not waste time on those who do not align with your beliefs.
Lastly, I have noticed that the site allows anyone to view your photos, regardless of their location. This can lead to unrealistic expectations and disappointment when someone you are interested in lives too far away. While this may not be a major issue, it is something to keep in mind when using the site.
Overall, while CatholicMatch has its flaws, it is still a good option for those looking for a partner who shares their Catholic faith. However, if you are looking for a more traditional Catholic dating site, I recommend checking out Ave Maria Singles.
Online Dating Disaster: Losing Faith in Love and Faith
I recently checked out CatholicMatch and decided to create a profile without a photo. I wanted to see if anyone would actually take the time to read and respond to my profile before I fully committed to joining. To my surprise, after a year or more, someone did reach out to me and we started corresponding. Eventually, we decided to meet up for dinner one evening.
When I saw him in person, there was something about his face and a few of his mannerisms that overwhelmed me. I couldn't quite place where I had recognized him from before. However, things took a turn for the worse when he accused me of having a crush on a mutual acquaintance who I later found out had a double life. It turns out that this man was the same person I had seen in a military bar near my home 20 years prior when he was a Marine. He wanted nothing to do with me, so I'm not sure if he recognized me first.
This experience has made me regret my entire life and lose faith in my own faith. I even put away my rosary. I cannot recommend online dating to anyone. I have tried other dating sites, and it always seems to open a gateway to people who will hurt you. In this case, my own faith brought this man back into my life and sent me down a dark road that I am tired of living.
If it's true that one can die of a broken heart, then I hope it happens sooner rather than later for me. I'm having one hell of a come-to-Jesus meeting with St. Michael.

Disappointing Experience with CatholicMatch: Wasted Time and Money
So, I decided to give CatholicMatch a try and signed up for a 6-month subscription. I was excited to meet some new people and hopefully find a great match. However, my experience was not what I expected. I tried to communicate with some guys, but unfortunately, they didn't even respond to my messages. I was disappointed and frustrated.
When my subscription was about to end, CatholicMatch repeatedly tried to convince me to renew. But I decided not to, as I didn't see any point in continuing with the service. However, about a month after my subscription ended, I received a message from a guy named Jack. He seemed nice and asked me out for coffee. I was hesitant at first, but I thought, "Why not? Let's give it a try."
So, I renewed my subscription to see his message. But to my surprise, I never heard from him again. He was listed as John on his picture, but he replied as Jack. I found it suspicious, as Jack is a nickname for John. I ran a search for him, but I couldn't find him.
I started to think that CatholicMatch set me up. Maybe this guy was bogus, and they used his picture to contact me. I couldn't find him in my searches, but strangely, he was in my list of guys who previewed me. His profile was so similar to mine that I started to question if they tricked me into renewing my subscription.
Overall, my experience with CatholicMatch was not great. I felt like I wasted my time and money. I don't think I will be renewing my subscription again.
Disappointing Experience with CatholicMatch: Paywall, Small User Base, Arrogant Members, Fake Catholics, and More
This website, CatholicMatch, has left me feeling disappointed for several reasons, especially as a male user.
Firstly, the paywall settings are quite strange and confusing. It's difficult to know if the person you're messaging has even read your message or if they're still active on the site. This can be frustrating and make it hard to gauge whether or not you're making any progress.
Secondly, even in large metropolitan areas, there seems to be a small number of active members. This can make it challenging to find someone who is a good match for you.
Thirdly, I have found that many of the women on this site have inflated egos and are quite arrogant. I have messaged average-looking women who seemed nice, but often received no response or just a one-sentence reply. It's disappointing to see that some women on this site seem to have unrealistic expectations. Personally, I am a tall, single man who makes 135k a year, goes to mass every Sunday, and prays daily. In real life, I have much better luck finding quality women, so I think I'll be sticking to that from now on.
Fourthly, there are so many fake or "woke" Catholics on this site who believe in things like abortion and "wokism". It's frustrating to see people who claim to be Catholic but don't adhere to the basic tenets of the faith.
Finally, if you want even more evidence of the problems with this site, just take a look at the forums. You'll see that some members have been on the site for years, even more than a decade, without finding a match. If the site was working well, this wouldn't be the case.
Overall, I would advise other Catholics not to waste their money on this site. Instead, talk to your priest and look for a match within your parish. The owners of this site should be ashamed of themselves for not providing a better service to their users.
CatholicMatch: Lack of Professionalism and Privacy Concerns
I had a really bad experience with CatholicMatch. They suspended my account twice, and their reasoning was that my photo looked too young. I mean, come on, I just look younger than my age. What's the big deal? And then they kept messaging me, asking for personal information. I gave them some, but then they asked for more, like my social security number and driver's license. I mean, seriously, I'm not giving that kind of information to just anyone.
I heard from another guy that he had the same issues. He paid for an account and then they suspended him too! It's ridiculous. I'm a devout Catholic, I check all the boxes, and I'm someone they should want on their site. But they're super controlling and there's no privacy. One user even told me that they monitor the messages, so he didn't want to say too much. He said the women he's met are not even practicing and not looking for marriage, even though their profiles say otherwise.
This is the second time they've suspended me, and it's just amazing. The lack of professionalism and the way they control every message is just ridiculous. I mean, any message I sent or received was very respectful and just getting to know people. There was no reason for all the censorship. At this point, I have to assume that there are women controlling the site and they suspend any attractive, successful competition. That's just not the way to run a business.
I tried to contact someone in authority to look into this matter, but it seems impossible. All I get is "Genevieve," who has made it very clear that she has no intention of reinstating me, no matter how many hoops she makes me jump through, including giving her personal information. I mean, I would love to see what she looks like. I have an idea.
Overall, I would not recommend CatholicMatch to anyone. It's just not worth the hassle and the lack of privacy. There are other dating sites out there that are much better and more respectful of their users.
Catholic Match: A Deceitful Dating Site That Preys on Its Users
Catholic Match is a dating website that claims to be a wholesome and Catholic platform for singles to find love. They have articles written by their own staff and forums where regular users can interact with each other. However, there is something very sneaky about this site that makes it dangerous.
It took me a while to figure out what their scam was, but it's actually quite simple. There is no distinction between premium members and free members. If you're using the site for free, you can browse profiles and like them, but you can't message or read messages. If you're a paid member, you have no way of knowing who is a premium member and who is not. This means you could spend a lot of time messaging people who can't even read your messages!
This is where CatholicMatch's scam comes in. They don't allow you to be honest in your profile and tell other users that you can't read their messages. They lure you into their site, knowing that many of their users can't message or read messages. You end up paying a lot of money for a useless and dishonest site.
It's really disgusting that a site that claims to be holy and Catholic would be so deceitful. They should be promoting honesty and integrity, not tricking people into paying for a service that doesn't work.
My advice is to stay away from Catholic Match. Trust in God to bring you the right partner in a more natural way. Don't rely on a website that is more interested in making money than helping people find love.
Disappointing Experience with CatholicMatch: Poor Matching Algorithm and High Percentage of Inactive Profiles
I recently signed up for CatholicMatch and paid $60 for a Premium 6 month subscription on October 30, 2021. I put a lot of effort into creating a compelling profile and was excited to see what kind of results I would get. Unfortunately, my experience with CatholicMatch has been less than satisfactory.
Over the course of 6 months, I received 99 messages from individuals within an acceptable radius. However, 61% of these messages were never read by the intended recipient. Only 24% of those who read my messages responded, and most of them simply said "Thanks." As a result, I still remain a total stranger to all 99 of these individuals.
I also received 52 "matches" from CatholicMatch, but only 17% of them were within a reasonable distance for me to travel. Of the remaining 81%, only one person read my personalized matching message, while the other 98% never even bothered to read it. As a result, all 52 of these "matches" are still strangers to me.
I did receive 3 unsolicited messages from members browsing my profile, and I was able to meet up with all 3 of them in public places for shared dining experiences. While these meetings resulted in 2 friendships, none of them turned into a romantic relationship.
Overall, I have been very disappointed with my experience on CatholicMatch. The matching algorithm seems antiquated and futile, as it often links me to profiles that are long gone, moved-on, or inactive. Additionally, the vast majority of female profiles are extremely dated or even fake, resulting in a high percentage of unread messages.
I have written a letter to CatholicMatch asking them to add an "activity notice" to better focus my efforts on active profiles. However, they refused to note "last active" for privacy concerns. I also fear that the recent merger with another Catholic dating site will only add more "dead wood" to the already poor statistics.
In my humble opinion, I will not be renewing my subscription after April 30th. While I have made a couple of friendships through CatholicMatch, the statistics do not lie.
CatholicMatch Review: Issues with Scammers and Gossip, Strong Adherence to Catholic Views
This website, CatholicMatch, is not very active and has some issues with scammers. However, it does have a strong adherence to the 7/7 views of the Catholic Church, which most people online seem to agree with. Unfortunately, some men on the site do not seem to be waiting for marriage, despite claiming to agree with these views.
I personally had a negative experience with a man who was phishing for information about my finances. He claimed he would call me back in an hour, but I suspect he was trying to scam me out of money. When I asked for a refund from the site, they refused since I had already used some of the features.
In June, I met up with a man from the site at Starbucks. I made it clear that I was just looking for a friend, but he later critiqued our date on the site's public forum. This violated the site's no gossip policy, but they did not enforce it. I reported these incidents, but the posts criticizing me were not taken down. It was frustrating to be criticized for being too young when he was the one who messaged me in the first place. He should have known better than to mix fact and fiction for a better story.
Despite these issues, I was able to get a full refund by filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. My account was deactivated by the site, which eliminated any further issues with scammers. It's disappointing that even religious dating sites like CatholicMatch have dropped in quality. It's not even possible to talk about music without being criticized by some users.
Overall, I would recommend avoiding this site if possible. However, if you do need a refund, filing a complaint with the BBB is a good option. Just be aware that there may be some issues with scammers and users who violate the site's policies.
CatholicMatch Review: Disappointing Experience with Lack of Active Users and High Price
I decided to give CatholicMatch a try in hopes of finding a woman who shares my Catholic values. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my experience on the site. One of the biggest issues is the lack of active users within a reasonable distance. I live within an hour and a half drive of the site, but there were very few local women who were active members.
Another issue I had with CatholicMatch is the high price. Even with discounts, it is more expensive than other dating sites that have many more members. It feels like they are taking advantage of people who are looking for a specific type of partner.
I also noticed that CatholicMatch uses the same tactics as other dating sites to make money. They don't let you know who is a fully subscribed member and who isn't, which means you could be sending messages to people who can't read them or respond. This is frustrating and feels like a way to lure people in and make more money.
Customer support is another area where CatholicMatch falls short. The only way to get help is through email, and it takes a long time to get a response. Even then, the responses are often boilerplate and don't address specific questions.
I also noticed that there are fake profiles on the site, which is disappointing. It makes it hard to trust that you are actually talking to real people who are interested in finding a partner.
One of the most frustrating experiences I had with CatholicMatch was when I updated my profile to let people know that I was no longer a paying member and couldn't respond to messages. I put this in all caps at the top of my profile introduction, but every time I did this, it was deleted by CatholicMatch. This feels like a dishonest practice and makes it even harder to connect with other members.
Overall, I was disappointed with my experience on CatholicMatch. As a Catholic site, I expected more emphasis on setting people up and less on making money. It's hard to meet other Catholics, and if this continues, it could lead to a crisis in the Church with fewer Catholic families.
