I won a lot that had written in its title the following: "Arran 1996 24 years old Premium Cask - b. 2021 - 700ml - 2 bottles" and nothing else. It turned out that the lot was selling one 24 y/o bottle and one 17 y/o bottle which clearly was not described in the headline but in the smaller print of the lot description. To add to the deception, both bottles are exactly alike with the exception of one detail: one says 24, the other 17.
Granted I should have read the full description, but that doesn't make the headline any less deceptive. After 2 months of inquiries, Catawiki turned down my claim and stated that "Our platform is designed to ensure that all descriptions are readily available for review prior to bidding" without mentioning the deceptive headline. This is utterly unfair and I urge people to be careful on this website.
(I also challenge people to find the difference in both bottles, which only makes it more deceptive)
Recommendation: Don't trust the lot headlines! Believe me, you don't want to have to use their customer support!!
