Carjet review: Fraudulent overcharge due to website error & refusal to refund - carjet

I am filing a formal complaint against CarJet (and DoYouSpain) regarding a fraudulent charge resulting from a system error on their website, followed by their complete refusal to resolve the issue or issue a refund.

Timeline of Events:

Initial Booking: I successfully booked a car rental for Chania, Crete. The agreement was to pay an online deposit of 42.64 € and the remaining 95.48 € upon arrival. CarJet successfully charged the 42.64 € to my credit card. (See attached proof: "Screenshot 2026-08-11 115411.png")

Failed Modification & System Crash: Later, I decided to change my rental location to Corfu using the "Manage Booking" tool on their website. The system calculated a price difference and prompted me to pay. I authorized the payment, and my bank account was immediately charged an additional 144.04 €. However, right after the payment went through, the CarJet website crashed, displaying a generic error message.

Unauthorized Overcharge for Unrendered Services: Shortly after the crash, I received an automated email from CarJet stating: "On this occasion we have not been able to modify your booking as requested." The email confirmed my booking remained in Chania. However, the exact same email also showed that my new "Amount Paid" had jumped to 182.43 €. (See attached proof: "Screenshot 2026-08-11 115551.png"). They took the money for the Corfu modification but failed to provide the service or update the voucher.

Ignored Support & Insulting Refund: I immediately opened an urgent support ticket (7454466) with proof from my bank, demanding they either issue the Corfu voucher or refund the overcharge. CarJet completely ignored my requests. Because they were holding my funds for a service they failed to deliver, I was forced to cancel the booking entirely. In response, their automated system offered me an insulting refund of exactly 0.01 €, effectively stealing the remaining 182.42 €.
