Here are some things I found on their website, which are totally false:

"If you have ever been convicted of a criminal offence you are automatically banned from entering the USA. If you wish to enter the USA you must first obtain a waiver, even if you have a Canadian Pardon you will still require a USA Waiver…"

THIS IS NOT TRUE! There are many criminal offences that do not automatically ban you from entering the USA, such as DUI's, Failure to Blow, Dangerous Driving, etc. Also, if you have only 1 Summary offence (except for illegal posession), it does not ban you from entering the USA. Better yet, get a Pardon through AlbertaPardons.com and you won't ever need a Waiver and you'll save yourself thousands of dollars.

FAQ 21: "I have a flight which has a Stop Over in the US and I have a Canadian Criminal Record. Do I need a US waiver?

A: Yes. Anyone who lands on American soil, who has a criminal record, even if it is just a stop over, will need a US waiver. You can take the chance but you may be detained if your record is found out; due to the extensive sharing of information between the countries it is possible. Better to err on the side of caution."

THIS TOO IS TOTALLY FALSE! Your record must contain 2 or more Summary offences (not including DUI's, etc) or 1 Indictable offence! Obviously, these guys are just trying to sell you their Waiver Service, which is most likely just a list of Things-to-Do, which will cost you $500 bucks!

More lies. They have now removed the false information and are saying it was never there.

BEWARE, it seems these people will say and do anything to sell you a US waiver that will cost you $1550.00 or more in total including their $795.00 plus taxes fee ($834.75) plus Fingerprinting ($75 to $80) plus Court Records ($50.00 min) plus the $585.00 US Filing Fee! And all you'll get is a 1 year waiver that you will have to renew a few months later for another $1400 or more. Or you'll get a piece of paper saying you don't need a Waiver, but then you'll have an FBI A File which can screw you out of many other benefits in the future!

The bottom line is, as long as you have never been questioned and denied entry into the US, 95% of the time a Pardon will work for you, as long as it's done right and I would strongly advise getting it done by a reputable company that puts people before profits, and won't deliberately screw it up so that you need a US waiver in the future.

I'm glad to see that postings on this website can cause a company to change, even if it's in a small way by removing false information.

Dear AndrewT from Toronto (member since today October 16th)

That was only one of the quotes I found on their website before it was removed. Tell me, how do you think they found that quote if it wasn't on their website to begin with? Obviously, they got the quote from that website, and it was probably when they ordered the Waiver Kit so they could learn how to process a US Waiver application.

And how about their Pardon FAQ Section with just 2 questions and their Waiver FAQ Section with just 3 questions? Obviously they want you to call them so they can feed you a lot of BS and sell you their Pardon AND Waiver services. Companies that regularly feed people a lot of false information never post a lot of accurate information on their websites. Want some real FAQ’s? Check these out: http://www.pbc-clcc.gc.ca/infocntr/factsh/pardon-eng.shtml.

I do my own investigative research and I accurately post what I find. I don’t simply read one thing and then look for a reason to right it off like some people. Instead I dig deep and I analyse everything with an open mind before I draw a conclusion. I have been watching how pardon and US waiver services firms have been ripping people off for years and I decided to do something about it.

And how can you justify paying over $900 for a service most people don't even need and could get for half the price elsewhere? But don't believe me. Instead, order a US Waiver from them and send all your friends and family there too. People like you deserve that kind of quality service. Maybe that will help boost their failing traffic: http://www.check-tools.com/domains/c/canadianpardons.ca.html

Oh and let’s see how fast you add more FAQ’s to your website, again to make it look like I’m the one who’s lying. You better get to work on that right away, Robert, er, I mean, Andrew. lol

I filled out an online application April 1st 2023. (And paid them $548) They said they would be in contact in 24 hours. It’s April 12th, I still haven’t heard anything, nor can I get in touch with anyone. They stole my money and never called or contacted me.

They took my money, once without permission and will not accept the fact that I do not have a record and want to conclude the services. They won't return my calls. Please didn't help yourself to anymore of my money. I was foolish and trusted them. I paid via my visa debit and they have put through a payment without my permission as a retail item! FRAUD. HELP.

I decided to post my complaint here even though it is not the same company that I have been having trouble with. But maybe it will help someone if ever they decided to use this company. I'm talking about PARDONS & WAIVERS OF CANADA. Here is a summary of what they have done and not done. Just bear in mind that over $800 was given to this company and has a result all I got back after 1 year were the documents that I had sent them back in 2014 and no waiver. So here it is, BBB tried to help us resolve this nightmare with PWC but did not succeed. So here it is.

Requested from Pardons & Waivers of Canada back in 2014 to help me get a waiver after having a criminal record (drunk driving) which was over 30 years ago. Paid over $800 to Pardons & Waivers- paid more later on for fingerprints. Then months went by without hearing from the business. Contacted them by email and this is where it all started. They requested more info for this or for that; they would say that it was in review than would go to the next step to be processed. This went on for over a year. In 2016, they sent an application again to have my fingerprints taken (already done that in 2014), requested for more info which they had again since 2014.
Requested money again for translation fees to have my french certified court documents translated in english since Homeland Security only recognizes english certified documents. With all the money they asked and after over a year of waiting they could of just paid for the translation. Then it went on and on until we requested to have them send me all my documents and this including the waiver. We filed a complaint and the business are trying to say that I requested to have my documents sent to me, now they are playing on words since they know that I wanted my waiver which I had paid for.

They said since I requested to have my documents sent to me, then it was up to me to send them to Homeland Security to have my waiver and they went and said that I only wanted their services to facilitate the application, for sure I'm going to pay over $800 just for that, I guess they knew that they messed up and now were trying anything to put the blame on the client.

I had paid to get my waiver, so I ended up paying over $800 just to have the documents I had sent them sent back to me but no waiver. They screwed up big time on this one, I'm sure that they had originally lost my file and the reason why after a year they were requesting the same things that was done and given to them back in 2014.

Asked to have a refund for a service that was never given and their answer "They are no refunds for closed accounts (because they close the account) and they dare say that I have an outstanding balance for translation fees' which they never did, we have no proof that this was done no idea which translation they are talking about. So from the end of 2014 to March 2016 this is the service I received from this so called company. They surely took the money, but the service was not included.

This is the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I ever had to deal with. I'm sure if I would of been from Ontario I would of gotten a better service. Do I recommend this business to a friend. Never in a million year.

"Andrew Tea" is the name on a voice message for "Mr. Andrew Tanenbaum" (Program Director).
I had to leave him a few messages since they dropped the ball on my file. Will update you if they pick up the ball.

you can get your own us waiver, go to a border crossing ask for the waiver package, go through the list of written requirements, go back to the border, have them review it, if it's not complete they will tell you what you need to do, it takes a bit of time, but you can do it on your own, don't give anyone any money, like i did, it's easier to do it yourself.you will get it done faster too.
believe me, i've been through it, i paid canada pardon, for a waiver and a pardon, never got the pardon, the us waiver was incomplete and my fingerprint application expired, only good for 15 months, so i wasted a lot of time and money, do it yourself, it's not hard, just takes some time.once your package is complete you will have to pay 585.00 us dollars at the border, make sure you have a border agent review your package before you hand over the money, easy.

They do misinform you. They do right out lie to you. Do not sign anything...read everything! I asked specific questions and was given false information. Andrew Tea is not to be trusted...he is a liar and will mislead you. The fee you pay them does NOT cover anything at all except their fee to fill out your application. They do NOT take care of everything...they supply you with lists of things to do yourself which cost you additional money. I do not think that the government should give criminals like this any preference and actually believe that instead the government should shut them down or regulate what they can charge for filling out an application. ANDREW TEA IS A CON ARTIST DO NOT GIVE HIM YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING! ANY COMPANY THAT WILL NOT PROVIDE YOU WITH WRITTEN INFORMATION BEFORE YOU PAY IS QUESTIONABLE. UPON GETTING THEIR PACKAGE YOU WILL SEE THAT YOU HAVE BEEN LIED TO. AGAIN DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING...ASK FOR A REFUND IMMEDIATELY AND SEND THEM BACK THEIR PACKAGE UNSIGNED. THEY WILL LIE TO YOU...THEY WANT YOUR MONEY...THEY LIED TO ME...I CONTACTED THE CREDIT CARD COMPANY AND LET THEM KNOW OF THE BREACH OF TRUST...IF YOU HAVE BEEN DUPED CONTACT YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY AND REGISTER A COMPLAINT...IF THEY RECEIVE ENOUGH COMPLAINTS THEY WILL SUSPEND CANADA PARDONS...ANDREW TEAS PRIVILEGE TO ACCEPT THEIR CARDS. THIS MAN IS A CRIMINAL AND SHOULD BE CHARGED HIMSELF AND GIVEN A RECORD OF FRAUD.

As stated above, the quote mentioned by Bill in his initial post can not be found on www.canadianpardons.ca, nor has it ever been on the site. It can be seen verbatim on www.canlaw.com, a site and company with which Canadian Pardons has zero affiliation. It seems clear to us that Bill misread or misunderstood the name of the company and/or website he was gathering information from, as his claims are entirely false. We do not copy our information from other sources; rather, it comes from years of service and experience helping Canadians.
We strive to provide the public with accurate and up-to-date information, and strongly encourage anyone who believes they may have read misleading or incorrect information on our site to contact us at [protected], so that we may look into the matter immediately.

Bill, anyone can aver that content of their saying was posted on a site and removed. However, the existence of the same quoted content being found on another site verbatim and not on the site that you say it was on makes your so called complaint unconvincing, if not an entire lie. I'd be interested in knowing where you get your information from.

This is not just an disagreement with the complaint submitted by "Bill Robins" but a notice that the information provided and addressing the site in question is incorrect and should be taken down.

The complain by "Bill Robins" attributes the quote: ""If you have ever been convicted of a criminal offence you are automatically banned from entering the USA. If you wish to enter the USA you must first obtain a waiver, even if you have a Canadian Pardon you will still require a USA Waiver…" to canadianpardons.ca. This is blatantly misleading. The real source for that quote can be found at: http://www.canlaw.com/legalforms/waiver.htm.

Additionally of concern is the following phrase supposedly quoted from canadianpardons.ca site :
"FAQ 21: "I have a flight which has a Stop Over in the US and I have a Canadian Criminal Record. Do I need a US waiver?A: Yes. Anyone who lands on American soil, who has a criminal record, even if it is just a stop over, will need a US waiver. You can take the chance but you may be detained if your record is found out; due to the extensive sharing of information between the countries it is possible. Better to err on the side of caution."

This is nowhere to be found on the site and from the timestamps and layout in and on the pages of the site, never was. The blatantly false information submitted resorts to criminal defamation under Libel and Slander Act R.S.O. 1990, c. L.12, and should be removed from this site as such. Thank you.
