Safeway - Service

Me and my roommates were shopping at our local Safeway on 24th Avenue in Surrey. The time was 8:29 as I checked my watch heading out the door after this terrible incident happened it started off that we were grocery shopping for an upcoming trip and had been doing so for about 45 minutes to an hour we're just about to head to bring things in at the till and I mentioned I needed to use the bathroom my niece said she did as well so we spotted the customer service desk, parked our cartAs we know that's the female washroom was out of order it being a male washroim my niece felt uncomfortable going in alone so we made the split decision to pop into the bathroom together as girls sometimes do our cart was waiting outside the door with our merchandise in it so I made it clear that we had to be super quick at this time about 2 minutes into US using the washroom right as we are finishing up washing our hands a thud hit the door then another 10 seconds later two more thoughts somebody was kicking the door we replied to them just one moment coming out and nothing once again side side at this point we were starting to feel uncomfortable anyways we opened up the door to our surprise there was four employees standing outside the door this is where the situation gets very uncomfortable and humiliating. They stated that they had had a problem with drug use in this wash them in the past and when I looked at them and said will that clearly is not the case in this situation they laughed and spoke over us very loudly and sarcastically and started mocking us and one of the staff named Ernie grabbed the cart and started walking away with it I then explained to him that our bags were in there and that was our merchandise. at this point I had felt so disrespected and the look of fear on my nieces face I made devidion to exit the store and voice to the employees that I would not be continuing with the purchase of the items in the cart and that I would like the employee's nameS so we could be on our way. Turns out one of the four employees was the manager' her name was Robin and when I express my concern on how the way that the male employee Ernie had handled the situation by kicking the door and not stating a reason why she said he was just doing his job now I have worked in customer service for 20 some odd years I 15 plus years in management and assistant management and never have I seen an employee or even considered treating a customer like this in my life. It was very humiliating scary and upon them threatening to pull the camera footage and stating that we were in there for over 5 minutes I encouraged them to do so at this point they refuse to.. there was absolutely no way that we were in there for longer than two to two and a half minutes I made it clear to my niece we had to be super quick because we had merchandise in the cart from our previous purchase next door. I think this behavior was completely unacceptable and I don't believe me or my niece will be shopping at Safeway anytime in the near future I will be passing on the experience to my family and friends as this was quite traumatic and a huge waste of time as we had spent an hour of our evening grocery shopping and I could not bring myself to purchase these items after such ignorant treatment and to be quite honest I just felt so uncomfortable and wanted to get my niece out of the store safely and as soon as I Could. As we exited I asked Robin who her Superior was she stated her name was Pam and I could speak with her in the morning and the male employees name was Ernie the other two covered their name tags as they laughed and mocked us.. in this situation I'm glad that it was me and my niece. and not someone less equipped to deal with the situation as this could have been detrimental to their emotional well-being I do believe that the staff should be talked to about how they handle certain situations because not everyone that uses the washroom is using drugs as simply as they put it. (although thanks to this experience this is what my niece now believes happens in all Safeway washrooms) included included a photo of me and my niece immediately after leaving the establishment. Because using their better judgment they should have taken one look at us and known there was absolutely no way that we were using the washroom for that purpose or should they have been talking like that in front of my younger niece

Desired outcome: A response on what action is going to be taken
