Argus car hire sends nice replies repeatedly but no real help is offered. Argus customer care (!!) service is great in hushing customers but not in solving the problems. In march, I rented a car from hertz via argus. To prevent hassle, I also took an insurance through argus at axa that argus offers, this is an insurance that covers the deductible. The policy states: 'if the car is damaged, hertz will retain the deductible to cover the costs, which you can then fully claim back.' We were involved in a chain collision: a bus collided with 2 cars behind our car and we were hit from behind...

The amount quoted on the contract was not what we were charged at the airport. Whilst we were expecting to pay a small extra amount for airport transfer, it was greater than quoted. "Pay up or don't get the car" On return we have sent several emails over several weeks showing the contract was different than the price we were charged but as yet, have had no positive reply or refund. They are cheap but get you another way, so do NOT trust any company that charges more than the contract!
