If you want to be overcharged, over-billed, tortured, harassed, threatened, physically assaulted, retaliated against for complaining, have your U.S. mail stolen right out of your mailbox, get charged for things that you never even signed up for, have the rental office lose your rent payments/checks and then not tell you for a few years, have the [censored] building managers such as Gerrie Wright, Sam Othman and Michael Tarantino retaliate against and harass you if you file a complaint with 311 or some other agency for their criminal behavior by arranging loud painful drilling, hammering, banging, slamming, and other "construction" noises right above your head in the unit above you, for months at a time from 8 AM onwards throughout the day (they use this as "local construction law 11" giving them "immunity" from law enforcement) but they abuse this in order to hurt and drive out tenants, women, children, and babies out of their building, like the Israelis do to the Palestinians. Meanwhile they overcharge minorities, black people, spanish people, and anyone who is not white or jewish, and have been investigated by the New York State Division of Human Rights multiple times, as well as by the NYS Attorney General, Housing Preservation Development and the Tenant Harassment Prevention Task Force. Please avoid these scumbags and do not move into this building, as the pain in not worth it.
Desired outcome: Legal and equitable relief
We have been victims of bullying behavior exhibited by Teena Mau, Brodsky’s manager of Beaux Arts in Midtown East, Manhattan, New York. Our experience, along with that of other residents, has been nothing short of appalling.
Mau's attitude is very aggressive and belittling, leaving many of us feeling intimidated and uncomfortable in our homes. The impacts of her behavior extend far beyond mere discomfort. It creates a toxic environment that is not only detrimental to the mental health of residents but also damages the reputation of Brodsky. It has also been observed that she employs unethical methods and outright lies to manipulate and coerce residents into compliance by threatening and instilling fear. Such behavior is unacceptable, and the use of intimidation and fear tactics should not be tolerated, especially in a professional setting where the primary goal should be fostering a sense of community.
Brodsky’s residents should feel safe and comfortable, free from the tyranny of such an abusive property manager. We believe that Mau doesn’t deserve to work at Brodsky as her appalling behavior diminishes Brodsky’s value and ruins its credibility.
The reviewer is not Adrian Tanguay. I am. As an employee of Brodsky for several years, I’ve personally seen the dedication and hard work the organization takes to make the best living situation possible. This is by far one of the best landlords and best employers I’ve ever worked for. Even though I no longer work there, I am grateful for everything I’ve learned. This reviewer is a disgruntled tenant and IS NOT ME!
