I was promised the cat was in good health and a pure breed, and charged highly for it.

I thought i had done my homework, but clearly i fell for her website and my own excitement for the ragdoll kitten.

Issues I experienced:

1) she let me adopt the cat at 6 weeks, while i know i should have known better, i relied on the expertise of the breeder. every other breeder ive since spoken to was horrified as the kitten should not be weaned from its family until 12-16 weeks

2) the kitten was already being extra weaned because she allowed her daughter to take it to her room from a super young age.

3) mother cat and kittens were kept in a playpen no more than 3 feet in diameter, causing severe distress. mother cat wouldnt leave her litter box every time we visited, what i now know is a sign of extreme distress

4) i was told i wouldnt received the paperwork for the pedigree until after i showed proof of neutering (because that became my responsibility given how young the kitten was). I never received the paperwork of a response

5) kitten was covered in fleas when i got home. was promised good health, and the fleas should have been a clear warning sign

6) The cat I received from her turned out to be highly allergic to most things in the enviornment. likely also a sign of aggressive and irresponsible breeding.

7) The cat lived to five years. he just died last night, and i was told it was from congenital heart failure. Other breeders do genetic testing on cats before breeding them to ensure they're not passing off HCM or PKD genes. Clearly this person didnt care. This was avoidable, either by not breeding HCM/PKD positive cats, or by warning clients of the risk so the cat's heart is moniotored.

Instead my cat went from happy and healthy to dying in the span of less than a week, and suffered at the end in a way i really wish i could have done more for. He had all the care in the world, insurance, etc; but didnt make a difference at the end.

1-6 i would have tolderated, but 7... i loved this cat more than a child, i will think of him forever, and im furious that this breeder is allowed to sell cats doing what she does.

Desired outcome: a refund, an apology, and some way to keep her from breeding animals in the future
