Emergency visit Wednesday [protected]
I was having classic heart attack symptoms when I entered Boswell ER. I received triage treatment and then back to the full waiting room for 3 hours! Only after asking the admitting clerk for information, did I get taken back to a curtained room. When I mentioned the 3 hours I was told that there were people out there waiting as long as 8 hours...
I was taken to the very efficient CT lab.
I was transported through an area where lights were off, but I could see empty rooms (except for 1) and phone distracted staffing. My thoughts were of all the ill people sitting in the waiting room.
My total visit was 6 hours!
At dismissal I was given instruction papers for a patient named Mr. V...
HIPAA violation!
I returned them on Friday, [protected] and asked for my report. The charge nurse said that she could not print them, she didn't have such access. She gave me the options of going to a portal or going to Medical Records. I went to MR.
Friday, mid-morning, the waiting room was full of ill human beings that were miserable in their condition.
I am new to the area, but now I understand why the Boswell reputation is not good.
One woman told me she had been admitted...admitted under the wrong name on her wristband. Only realized when her friend came to visit her and was told she wasn't a patient.
My profession was in Radiology and I am dismayed by what I saw and experienced.
Is the answer short staffing or disorganization?
Country of complaint: United States
Desired outcome: I am hoping that my information will help the staffing, which in turn, will help those who are truly suffering,> 6 hours in the waiting room.
