Atlanta Airport / Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Atlanta Airport cell phone parking lot

7/13/23 Trying to get to cell phone lot was difficult, it looked like lot was new and signage was incomplete near lot. Made 3 trips around airport before finding it. Also a portelet would be nice after long ride to airport, had to pee behind car, very imbarison. Saw where many had gone all around pavement. By the way what made things worse was short term parking was full both south and north. Thanks

Desired outcome: Would like to know if airport improves signage and adds and maintains portelet to cell phone lot at Atlanta Airport.

Atlanta Airport / Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Traffic for International Terminal Shuttle

Thur July 13. 5:00-5:40 pm.

I’m taking the shuttle from the main terminal to the International terminal and there is a huge traffic jam just reaching the drop off point.

Please make this an easier and more timely process.

Suggestions:

1. Separate lane for shuttle buses.

2. More traffic police to manage speedier traffic flow.

3. Re-examine traffic patterns for drop off. Redirect regular drop off or pickup to separate lanes or a different area.

4. This traffic design should be a top priority.

5. Allow for bag checkin for other flights (eg Qatar) at the main terminal and use the train!

Desired outcome: Better traffic flow.

While going through the line in security putting belongings in the trays, I’m telling my step son to put his stuff in the bin and take his shoes off and one of the agents say if they are a minor they don’t have to take his shoes off. He is a minor, 13, so I tell him never mind. We are waiting to go through the X-ray machine and another agent says how old is he, he has to take his shoes off. I said the lady over there said minors don’t have to. She yells with an attitude, I never said anything to you. I know you didn’t say directly to anyone, she was just telling out directions and one was minors do not have to take off their shoes and she said again, I didn’t tell you that, I don’t know you or how old he is. Why do the TSA agents in Atlanta always have to be so rude? There are rude agents all over the states, but Atlanta is consistently rude. I come here several times a year, 8 times so far in the last 8 months and I have only had 1 positive experience with a TSA agent in those 8 visits to the airport and numerous TSA agent interactions in those visits. If you don’t like your job it’s not my problem. Get another one.

Desired outcome: Training for the agents to understand how to interact with people.

I fly all over the country every week. While I almost always have pleasant TSA agents in Dallas, Philly, Abilene, Amarillo, Tulsa etc……… my journeys always start with the absolute jerks of the TSA world in Atlanta Hartsfield. Rudest, obnoxious and just plain unpleasant people. There is not enough space in this block to mention all of the absolute unnecessary attitudes I have seen. The crazy thing is that the south entrance is horribly rude while the north entrance is tolerable. I will never understand why people that hate their jobs so much don’t just change their jobs.

Atlanta Airport / Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Customer service

Ms. Karen Harris, a woman who is at the booth of the hartsfield airport (international side) held myself and my family at the exit for 45 minutes and showed us immense attitude as I lost a parking ticket (I insisted on paying the lost fee as my granmps was in the vehicle sick, which I voiced) she blatantly ignored us, showed us attitude and tried to make a scene. I’m unsure what it was that made her behave in such an inhumane, uncouth way, and I never file complaints against anyone, ever - but this instance really did upset us and I feel as though she should be held accountable for this. Further description: Female, Black, under 5ft 7inches, short hair (salt pepper).

Atlanta Airport / Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Taxi service Cab 0571

We hired a cab to the hotel after missing our flight on Delta. This cab left his passenger window down post a rain storm. He drove through a puddle large enough it splashed a lot of water on both my husband and myself even getting who knows what in my husbands mouth. Having missed our flight we do not have clothes to change into. This would have all been bad enough but the cab driver laughed.

Desired outcome: Our fare was $25. I think it should have be waived and refunded. Also something should be instated so other taxi customers dont experience the same thing.

Hello, I walked into the NBC store in terminal A yesterday April 23rd 2023. When I walked in the first thing I heard was “You are not allowed in this store you are to leave now.” I was so confused. I thought the lady was joking, I walk up to her and smile, she starts to get closer to be and she says “You are to leave now until I am finished talking I rebuke you in the name of God, you leave this store now as I am HE.” I had no idea what to say, the cashier didn’t even say anything. I just stand there so confused because I don’t understand what’s going on (mind you i’m 17 in that store alone.) Once I don’t say anything back she started to get in my face and point at me and say “I rebuke you from this store in the name of her. I am HE and you are to leave right now you can not shop here until I am done talking. I rebuke you NOW. (I hadn’t had food all day, I was traveling all day and I was so hungry but there was a women who thought she was God… so I could not shop there. I left the store and saw a lady talking on the phone, she was talking about how the lady in the store was talking crazy, so I wasn’t the only one who witnessed it. The most bizarre first experience in Atlanta. I go to my gate which isn’t far from the store and I see her come out about 15 minutes later and she starts hopping (like doing little jumps) in the middle of the airport. I don’t know if anyone was ever notified about this happening yesterday but to he ‘rebuked’ from a store by a random customer was just bizarre.

Desired outcome: Check the cameras on the NBC store in terminal A you’ll see the proof. I felt like security should have been there because she was a grown woman in my 17 year old face and I thought she was going to punch me, more security, more safety.

I had clear plastic suitcase cover all my luggage, and when I arrive to my final destination my clear plastic cover wraps was missing off of my suitcase. I don’t understanding why because I didn’t have any type of lock on it and it was secure on there. They could have easily taken it off for inspection and placed it right back on but instead they kept it and did not return it. That was my property that I paid my hard working money for, no letter or reason why my property was not returned to me. It was a disregard for my property and that’s not right.

Desired outcome: A full refund for my item that was stolen from me.

Atlanta Airport / Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Atlanta West Parking Deck & Sonya Lee

I parked at the west parking deck 2/22/23-2/24/23 and my credit card was charged $716.00.

My ticket said dates 1/11/23-2/24/23. On 1/11/23 I flew when the planes were grounded and the systems went down. When I returned on 1/13/23 to get my vehicle, the gentleman at the exit had to ask for my flight details in order to charge me correctly since the systems were down. I am guessing this was never cleared out for the 1/11/23 system issues.

I have emailed Sonya Lee 5 times since 2/24/23. I have called the # and left 3 voicemails. I don't understand why I am not getting a response on how to recoop the money that was taken in error.

I would appreciate Ms Sonya to return my email or phone call. She has my information on voicemail and email. If there is someone else that I need to contact, please let me know.

Atlanta Airport / Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Workers always standing shooting the bs.

Workers are always shooting the bs, standing in main walkway areas, don't give a hoot about anyone else, most are rude, won't move put of the way, seems we're intruding on their turf.

I've been traveling through this airport for 25 years, it's out of control.

DELTA TERMINAL GATE D8A WORKERS HAVE BEEN HERE FOR 20 MINUTES CATCHING UP, CANNOT HEAR THE SPEAKER FOR LOADING OR FLIGHT UPDATES. VERY DISAPPOINTING SEEING THIS EVERYTIME I HAVE A FLIGHT THROUGH ATLANTA.

Exactly, witnessing the same laziness. Gate Clerks are just as bad a government workers. Avoiding customers at all cost and love to tell you “no”. Worthless.

Atlanta Airport / Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Hourly parking

Last night 12/29/2022 tried to exit the parking garage around 9pm. All kiosks were temporarily out of service. Went to pay with my credit card and it wouldn’t take my ticket. Every line was having the same issue. Approached both human cashiers and they were overwhelmed and also couldn’t get the tickets to work. Called the customer service line and was told to hit the help button when all of the buttons were already dinging. I told her that and she repeated herself and then hung up on me. It took over 20 minutes to get it to work. They took a picture of my car tag as I was finally leaving after the ticket finally worked and I had done nothing wrong. The two women on duty had no assistance from their management and no ability to expedite our exit. They were completely overwhelmed. They should have taken the cash we offered and let us exit under these circumstances while the problem was being resolved. I will fight any ticket I receive.

Exceptionally rude staff who literally yelled at me with a ‘HEY’ for following what I was told to do by her colleagues. I’m a physician at Emory and I don’t think it’s acceptable for me address any human being that way. Was given no explanation and yelled at for asking for one. This is the rudest experience I’ve ever had in an airport and I fly very often.

First of all, less than half of your global entry machines are working at the airport! That’s unacceptable with the size of international travel coming through there. Second of all, there seems to be a shortage of international park-and-ride shuttle drivers? That was the case when I left here and now when I am returning there seems to be delays on pick up. I am right now standing in a line of about 30 people waiting to get on the bus with no bus in sight. Get it together!

Atlanta Airport / Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Homeland security, an officer with the badge name Torres

I am an attorney and I plan to take legal action against how my family and I were treated at Atlanta airport by a lady who had the badge name “Torres.” This incident occurred at Atlanta airport in the baggage claim area at around 3pm on September 23, 2022. We are unsure whether this was homeland security or what her job role was as she never specified to us who she was. This was part of her abusive behavior.

My husband and I along with our young children, aged 5 and 8, had just come off a long flight from Manchester UK. International flights with children are never easy. Unknown to us, my youngest son had taken his fruit off the plane (two apples) and put them in his snack bag. We went through Atlanta security and nobody said anything about these two apples or raised any issues. We were unaware that my son had even placed these two apples in his snack bag. However when we were waiting at baggage claim to collect our bags, a dog started to eat the snacks in my son’s snack bag. The dog was not sniffing anything that he found, he was simply eating my son’s snacks such as the chips and the cookies in the bag. I started to move the snack bag away from the dog at which point a lady in uniform with the badge name Torres rushed up to me, physically pushed my five year old son away from the snack bag and then proceeded to shout in front of the entire baggage claim area that her dog had detected something in my snack bag. I was extremely embarrassed and I told her it was just snacks for my children on the plane but she proceeded to shout at me and say “I will be the judge of that! Empty the bag right now!” I was extremely confused as she did not even specify who she was but she was acting like she was above the law. I asked her why she was treating us like this over some snacks that we could simply throw away but she became extremely aggressive and started saying things like if I asked one more question, she would hit me with a fine and I needed to just “shut the f*** up!” At this point, around 30 people or so in the baggage claim area started to stare. (These people later agreed to be witnesses should this matter proceed to court). When she began using inappropriate language and shouting, I asked her to please not use this language as my young children were becoming frightened but she would not listen. At this point my 8 year old burst out crying and he was inconsolable. I have never seen him cry like this before. My husband then asked the lady why she was being so rude and aggressive and he asked her to calm down. To our utter shock, the lady then started shouting “I feel afraid for my life now! Two against one! I’m scared. I don’t feel safe!” and she proceeded to walk away from us. We honestly thought she was trying to frame us or something. The lady then called her supervisors over and they dealt with us in a much more professional manner than this lady did. They simply disposed of the apples and let us go on our connecting flight - which we almost missed. They also told my son not to cry and said that that lady should not have treated us in this way. They told us that we could complain if we wanted to.

We have suffered mental anguish from the treatment depicted by this lady and our son has literally had nightmares. We were degraded, harassed and falsely accused of making this lady afraid for her life when we did absolutely nothing to her. All of this took place in front of our children who are considerably shaken up by it all.

We plan to take legal action. We would like the lady’s full name and details in order to submit a thorough complaint about this unacceptable treatment.

9/16/22 - 9/18/22: Charged me $108.00 for 3 days parking ($19/day).

Simple mistake, unfortunately every time you call customer care they:

1. Pick up the phone

2. Listen to the story

3. Put you through to another department

4a. Other department does the same thing or

4b. Doesn't go through

Blatantly have zero respect for customers of the airport (I use ATL every 10 days on average) and I am very disappointed to not have any other airports in the area that I can fly out of.

Desired outcome: Answer the phone and fix your errors

I too was overcharged. Charged me $716 for 3 days. West parking deck and their license plate scanners are worthless. Just print the ticket. I have yet to hear back from anyone with my refund of overcharges.

Atlanta Airport / Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Failure to Update Flight Boards

On August 11, 2022, my husband and I returned our rental vehicle to Enterprise. We immediately boarded the shuttle to the airport for our 10:30am flight with Frontier. While transitioning to tge Airport, we noticed our flight time was delayed until 11:30am. We decided to continue to the Airport. We went over to Frontier ticket counter and the agent said our flight was not delayed. She tagged our bag and we went through TSA. Throughout the Airport our flight time was erroneous. We arrived at the gate D1A at 9:00am. My husband spoke to the agent. She stated that the time was wrong and she had being trying to get the Airport to correct the time. People were extremely confused. Also we were upset the train stopped and malfunctioned causing others to miss flights. Atlanta is a major hub for flights. We expect better customer service and efficiency with the Airport. This lack of service is unacceptable and paints a bad picture for visitors.

Desired outcome: We would like a formal apology and better customer service. We understand trains malfunction and things happen but updating flight schedules to avoid missed flights is unacceptable.

Atlanta Airport / Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Parking

My baggage was stolen with my car keys and id. I get a new id so I can have a locksmith program a new key. I try to leave and I get I owe $504. I file and appeal which is denied. I requested to just reduce fee. They deny. After I go through the process I try to leave and now it’s $756. I go in the office and they say they will type in my card info but then when I try to leave again they say they can’t. My card has sufficient funds but it doesn’t read my card for some reason. It’s illegal to hold your car as ransom making me 2 cab fees and go weeks without a car. This is more than criminal and everyone of the people that’s had a hand in this should be fired. Now I come back tomorrow it’ll be over $800. The mayor or governor or someone in charge of this I hope sees this. This is the most incompetent sh__ show I’ve ever seen. I will be contacted every media outlet and web site available.

Desired outcome: Reduce fee so I can get my truck so I can work and not pay $756 of money I don’t have.

Atlanta Airport / Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Gate pass denied

This morning (July 12, 2022) at 7am, I arrived at the delta's international terminal to check-in my special needs brother and to obtain a gate pass to accompany him to the gate.

I never had an issue in the past year obtaining a gate pass on the same ATL to BUF flight he takes to return home after visiting family. Per Delta's current policy, a disabled passenger is allowed one person that is not flying to accompany the traveler to the gate. This was confirmed when I called their disability line today.

My brother is a 47yo adult, but has severe autism and is legally blind. He is fine on the 2hr flight but has a risk of wandering if he is not in a wheelchair and not assisted onto the plane. He also may not be able to follow the gate clerk's instructions like an older unaccompanied minor.

The first clerk at check-in didn't understand my request for a gate pass and easily became frustrated so gentleman next to her stepped in to help. He understood the situation, but told me that airport is no longer issuing gate passes to those not traveling, regardless of the passenger being disabled. I know this wasn't true. I was at the airport just a week prior picking my brother up and had no issue obtaining one. I told him about the last time I left him at the gate with a clerk this past January. He left the area and became lost in the airport for 2 hrs while I had APD searching for him (he was found outside by the street). Only then did the gentleman issue me the gate pass.

I am writing because this situation never should have happened. By denying gate passes to accompany disabled adults, you are at risk for a potentially dangerous situation. I believe it is also discrimination toward those who are able to fly by themselves, but need help that only someone familiar to them can provide (especially someone with autism spectrum disorder).

I was assured by delta's assistance line that this shouldn't happen again, but the airport cannot spontaneously and temporarily change its policy just to reduce wait times at security (the real reason I was told by delta for gate pass denial).

Desired outcome: -Better training for check-in clerks on policies, and sensitivity training for better customer service toward special needs passengers. -For the airport to adhere to Delta's disability policies.

Atlanta Airport / Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Restaurant beer underpour

How can you charge a customer for a beer and only pour almost half the cup?

The staff doesn’t seem to know what is going on and does not really provide any help. It also took 20 minutes just to get my pizza. Management should really take a look at their staff.

Atlanta Airport / Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Ruined Hat

Today, jume 30th 2020, I was going through security at the atlanta airport. My brand new Charlie 1 Horse hat was pushed out of my bag, and a security employee watched as bin rolled over it. She did nothing. When I ran over to claim it, she proceeded to throw it at me. I have had this hat for one day, and security ruined it. There was no apology. There was no kindness. Instead there was anger, malice, and on top of it all, my favorite hat ruined.

Atlanta Airport / Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Lack of help, information and access for handicapped persons

I am someone who is currently handicapped right now with a foot that I cannot walk upon. From the time I left the airport for my trip and the time I returned at some point all of the garages in the south part of the airport had been blocked off/covered in plastic due to construction with no knowledge that there were cars in the back (because I was given no help and I couldn’t find any). I went to each level twice, mind you every elevator was out of service in the garages. I walked for an hour until I was able to find my vehicle, with no help for the exception of two women who offered who were not airport workers.

Desired outcome: your workers need to be active and helpful. I shouldn’t have to forage the depths of a whole terminal for help, I also shouldn’t have to hop down the stairs because there are no elevators in service.
