To whom it may Concern,

If anyone is considering hiring a vehicle from Asco Car Hire, B-Mobile (now Asco ownership) and Value Car hire. I would advise you not to pay the full amount or to read the contract very carefully. The maximum insurance cover does not cover quite a few important items. If you do have an accident 90 % of the time they will find something that is not covered and bill you for it.
Also if you have booked a vehicle and transfers they forget to pick you up or double book a car. Service is terrible and very unfriendly.
Another point of concern is the one way pick up or drop off fee. When picking up a vehicle outside Windhoek they charge you for the fuel and food the driver uses. So it looks cheaper than all other companies but in the end it works out more expensive. Most reputable companies add all these costs and are included in the one way pick up fee.
If you return the vehicle take photos of all sides. You will get hit with damages when the car is returned to the depot. If you are most unfortunate to have an one side accident (no other vehicle involved and its your fault) well i feel sorry for you as they will find lots of damage that is not covered by insurance and they will bill you.
I hope this helps if anyone is thinking of hiring a vehicle from Asco or Asco related companies. Unfortunately I had to learn the hard way.
Good luck as Namibia is a beautiful contry and most car hire companies are great. Do your home work well and all should go well.

Well Mr Pat,
If you do not even know who your clients are how the hell can you supply good service. But as you do not know us, you sure give a good description of me. I am honoured that you even know our address and my position in the company. Unfortunately for BMS we did have a contract with you. You do not have to blacklist us as we will not be using your services again. Not for now and neither in the distant future.
Your business ethics speak for them self as one just has to read your unprofessional comment.
I will always support our clients and give them the service one is accustomed to receive from BMS-Travellers. We look for likewise companies and fortunately we have no difficulty in finding them in Namibia.
This is the last I will say about this matter. All future correspondence will take place behind closed doors.

I agree with the above. I have never had such a poor experience renting a vehicle while on vacation than with Asco Car Rental. I hope that anyone considering or making plans to rent a vehicle from them or Value Rent a Car (sister company) should look into other options. After my experience, I made a mental note to warn all tourists of how horrible their business practices are & offer an alternative. I heard that Caprivi rent a car might be a better option.

Avoid ASCO Car Hire. If you read the insurance policy carefully you will find that you have NO INSURANCE. I repeat, NO INSURANCE. If you drive over the maximum speed rating (ridiculously slow) that is tracked by a GPS device in your vehicle then your insurance is void. Repeat, INSURANCE IS VOID. NO INSURANCE. You have been warned.

The writer of this article is Marcello Pacenti, owner and general manager of tour operator BMS TRAVELLERS in Mijdrecht, The Netherlands. He is not a client, never was a client, and has no client experience with Asco Car Hire whatsoever. Marcello Pacenti is a disgruntled tour operator who was banned from renting vehicles with Asco Car Hire after he repeatedly used abusive language over the phone with our staff members. Needless to say that his writings are all lies and only found their origin in his spiteful mind. Just to set the records right.
