After submitting to a place called model scouts, I received an invite to come in for a free photo shoot. It is $50 to come in and book a time. 3 hours later it was a sales pitch and to purchase pictures for $3,500

It was high pressure and I'm sick to my stomach. The reviews online are not real and seem fake and with more research I'm afraid it's a scam just to sell pictures and promises. They are using the names of Maps Models, West 38 agency and Apex.

Desired outcome: Money back

I was just contacted by Revolution modeling in New York Miami Atlanta I can't remember the other place and was told the same thing it was $50 refundable for a photo shoot and if they decided you weren't model material you would get the $50 back and it was 399 for a portfolio they're supposed to call me today and so I'm researching whether or not they're a scam it sounds like from the other reviews that they are thanks a lot for for reviewing this stuff for me because I would have gone for it.

They are scamming I got a call

From Jonathan, Jonathan stated that I gotta pick shortlisted out of models him for me to come down to an Apex. He was actually From Jonathan, Jonathan stated that I gotta pick shortlisted out of Model‘s and for me to come down to Apex. He was actually in LA him and also good luck and everything else and I read that the photos was starting at 399 for the packages. When I got down here she pressured me into paying $3999 which was insane for me now I’ve been trying to get in touch with Johnathan and the studio and I’ve have heard nothing back from neither of them. I’m going to call my bank and I’m going to spew the charges from last month and this month, if they try to take the money back I’m going to file a lawsuit because I don’t even signature Lee sign. Any documentation I don’t even know what the hell that was. They basically put CC on the documents and now I’m reading through the documents and it’s stating that I am bonded to pay there’s no way fraud fraud fraud , I’m going to delete my card report them to the business Better Business Bureau and I’m also going to get me a lawyer just in case I need one because I’m not paying a $4000 for something I’ve never going to receive or never heard from the people ever since that day scammers

I had a feet injury on February 2021 and I was sending a clerical job's applications while I was recovering from my feet injury, I came across Apex Modeling application and I was asked to apply for modeling if I was interested and I fited in their category . I sent them few pictures of mine ,1 that I was dressing in a flight Attendant uniform and I got approved for a commercial modeling. I did not have any sort of income while I was unemployed and I already spent money for Airline Academy to be a flight Attendant 2 years before this and I needed to pay the rest of my tuition in order to graduate, but my feet injury and my unemployment was delaying that. I had some savings that was supposed to be used for renting or purchasing a home . I was happy that I heard it, I though that It would be my career and I could work as a model while I was receiving from my feet injury and I also paying my tuition to the airline to be a flight Attendant at the end. Then when they saw that I was serious about my modeling application then they asked me to schedule an appointment with them in NY and I needed to pay only $50 for setting up my appointment and if they like my pictures and Portfolio then they would only charge me $300 to apply for modeling agencies to be able to work as a model with my professional portfolio but It never happened , They charged me $4000 for pictures and email and website which they removed it after a year. I Almost spent $5000 for just 2 days going to NY to have a career as a Model & it never happened in spite of having the look and the figure of a Model.

apex studio or west 38 in new york is a complete sketchy place. I got a call from a man who told me I won a photo shoot all i have to do is show up to get the $100 back they wanted over the phone. In turn, i was pressured into paying over $3900 for pictures I cannot afford. They said the shoot would be 4 hours but it was around 2 hours and the make up was not even the color of my skin.

After speaking with other models, I realized this place is a fraud an all they do is sell photos and dreams to people. they flat out lied to me on who they were in text and said they were "apple models" then said it was "studio 1".

guys i went through this. They told you over the phone is was like $50 to come in then you go in and they force you to pay them $4,000. I was told they were NYC Model Scouts, Apple Models and Empire models in the text messages. The photo place was called Apex Studios and Maps Studios (stolen names btw)

The company doing this is The Photo Studio Group, LLC look them up on the bbb. I will not be paying them the money for the shoot and you cannot send someone to debt collection for something they never gave you. you can get photos for sooo much cheaper do your homework pls!

These people are border line scam artists. DO NOT DEAL with this modeling agency. I was solicited by them with a certain information, and when I came out of there a few days later the mgmt. had given me completely different information. regarding costs, and what they actually do provide. The photographer and makeup artists were professional and polite. They did their work well. But when it came down to what they actually provide was very different form what they initially said. I spoke with three different people and got three different answers and the manager, Karen, was ultimately the biggest scam artist and was the one who had the last word. APEX Studios is a very bad place to deal with.

APEX Models in New York also going by West 38, MAPS and Apple Models is not honest! They will lie to get a sale of $4,000 and will not let you exit the payment plan. No one should ever pay over $1,000 for pictures you are insane. Report them to the BBB

They tell you it's $50 over the phone. It's not! Do your research
