Amourgis & Associates Attorney and Counselors at Law did a bad job representing my wife in her bankruptcy case. She had to pay all her debt, including the attorneys' and trustee's fees, and the trustee took all her settlement from a drunk driver who hit her. The communication between my wife and the attorneys and trustee was terrible.

so I hit up Amourgis & Associates cuz I was about to lose my crib to foreclosure. They hit me back real quick and this lawyer dude, ***, was mad helpful. He made me feel like I could actually fight back and keep my place. He stayed in touch and broke everything down for me so I could understand. I appreciate him and I'm definitely gonna tell my peeps to hit him up if they need a lawyer. Much love

I had a car crash and my car was wrecked! I wanted a new car under chapter 13 laws and my lawyer said he never heard of that before! The company that had a lien on my car told me to call them and say some stuff, but my lawyer said it was against the law and I shouldn't do it. Isn't that what my lawyer is for? Why do I have to do his job?

I got hit up by Amourgis & Associates Attorney and Counselors at Law back in 2017 'cause my crib was about to get foreclosed on. They told me to file for chapter 13 to fix the issue. I ended up paying $21,000 over 3.5 years, but then I had to switch to chapter 7 'cause the county wasn't getting paid. They said it was 'cause the county didn't respond to the paperwork, but like, shouldn't they have been on top of that? I ended up still losing my house and had to hustle to pay off the debt before it was too late.

This company was really bad. They didn't handle my case themselves and sent me to an IMMIGRATION lawyer for my personal injury claim. I thought they knew what they were doing, but they didn't. The lawyer they gave me, Walter Messenger, was really bad. He didn't know what he was doing and was really rude. He accused me of things that didn't make sense and was really egotistical. He told me not to accept the first offer for my settlement, but when I didn't, he dropped me without telling me. I told Amourgis & Associates about my bad experience and sent them texts showing that Walter Messenger was really bad, but they didn't do anything. They are a really bad firm.

I did a Chapter 13 bankruptcy with these guys and got a 3 year plan from the court. I emailed them to ask when I could stop paying in my 4th year but no one replied. I called and left messages but no one replied. Finally, the secretary checked my case and said I had 2 more payments. I asked if I needed to do anything else and she said no. I made the payments and stopped the auto-deductions from my check. I waited for discharge paperwork but got paperwork from the trustee wanting to stop my case due to non-payment. I emailed the office but no response again. A month later an associate called me and named all my times I contacted without response. He said the response I got was wrong and my last year of bankruptcy would take an additional 2 years because I missed 3 months of payments. He said even though the court paperwork said 3 years, I was in a 5 year plan. I've been paying 60% of my paycheck to bankruptcy and he was very rude and said I would have paid more for a 3 year plan. He laughed at my situation and said I made a big mess of the case and he had to fix it. I said I made double house payments and he said it would be added to my principle down the road. They gave me the wrong information and blamed me when it got back to them. I wish I checked ComplaintsBoard.com reviews BEFORE using this firm.

Amourgis & Associates sent me a letter sayin' I owe money from a suite that was settled in ***. So, I called 'em up and asked if I really owed from ***. They wanted me to talk to an associate for further counceltation, but I asked again if I really owed money and they wouldn't answer yes or no. I feel like they're tryin' to get me to hire 'em even though they know I don't owe no money. Does this company look at old dockets and try to scam people out of their hard earned money?

Amourgis & Associates is not good at answering the phone. I've been trying to reach them for a while now, but their answering system is terrible. Even before COVID-19, it was hard to get a hold of someone. When my wife lost her job, I told them about it and was promised a call back, but it never happened. Now, I want to buy or lease a car, but I can't because they won't answer. The trustee won't talk to me either, so I'm stuck. Next Monday, I'm going to their Akron office, and I'm not going to be very nice about it. I paid $1800, and I want it back so I can get a better lawyer. They're trash lawyers, and their business should have listened to my wife.

I called Amourgis & Associates Attorney and Counselors at Law for a case and talked to Natalie L,Esq and James D. Natalie said that if they couldn't settle for a lower payment, they'd give me back the $250 I paid them. Charles called me later, but they couldn't settle for less, and now they won't give me back my money. If Natalie wasn't supposed to say that, that's okay, but they should still keep their promise.

Me and my wife are tryna buy a new car, but we're in a chapter 13 plan so we need the trustee's approval. The law firm that's supposed to be helpin' us ain't returnin' our calls, and I got proof 'cause I been keepin' track. Every time we call, they say they'll pass on the message and have someone call us back, but they never do. It's been almost five weeks and still nothin'. We faxed in the info they asked for twice, and the dealership did too, but they keep sayin' they never got it. I can't even talk to the attorney assigned to my case, 'cause this is the third one in two years. It feels like they just want our money and don't care about helpin' us out.

Amourgis & Associates sent me a letter to represent me in court. The associate I talked to lied and said bankruptcy was the best option for me. They didn't tell me what I needed to provide or what was needed to process. They said it would be easy and just filing on credit cards. They didn't say I had to put up my house deed and car VIN. I paid $500 but they haven't done anything. I tried to contact them but they don't respond to emails. They said they would help but they haven't.

I hired this law firm in December to help me with my money problems. James told me to file a Chapter 13, which cost me $1191. I've been paying $788 a month to a trustee, but now they say I need to file a Chapter 7 for $565 plus $156 to start. They say all my debts will go away, but I'll still have to pay for my car, house, back taxes, and other bills like groceries, electric, medical, water/sewer, new taxes, extended warranty on vehicle, home insurance, and car insurance. It's a lot of money to live in an old house! They say the Chapter 7 will be dismissed in 4 months, and then I can file again and pay another $1191. I feel like they're taking advantage of me and I'm worse off now than before.
