Amazon Flex Only If You're Desperate

I do not recommend becoming an Amazon Flex driver unless you are absolutely desperate for cash or only plan to do it very infrequently.

- Little/No Input on Schedule: You are only able to set your delivery preferences after reaching a certain level, but that does not guarantee anything.

- No Input on Delivery Area: You don't know where you are delivering until after you've picked up your order. It's common to drive over an hour away to deliver 15-40 (or more packages) for 4 - 5 hours (easily 130 - 150 miles for one block).

- Amazon does not pay for anything: They only provide the blue vest (if you ask). They don't provide anything to help you carry packages. They do not pay for gas, maintenance, or to even clean your car (my car is filthy from having to drive down so many muddy dirt roads). They offer discount on certain items, but only if get the Amazon Flex Debit Card (and they don't take taxes out)

- Email support: Each time I email support, a new person responds and they have no idea what I am talking about. I've been asking a specific question for weeks and have yet to receive an answer

Recommendation: Recommend as a last resort

Amazon Flex DONT DO IT!

I have been driving with them for about 6 mo. The warehouses are always backed up to where it makes your first 1-4 packages late plus there will be like 3 more mixed in to your route that were due as soon as your shift started. DEFINITELY DONT do the prime! For instance, I had two shifts from 3:00pm-5:00pm and 5:30-7:30. I arrived early for both but the warehouse was a disaster, oh and forget about anyone that works there helping you in any way(if you can even figure out who works there and who is just another driver that looks as lost as you), it took over 30 min for them to get my packages to me(everyone I tried asking for help just walked off so I had to find them myself), then as I am leaving I noticed they were ALL due at 4:00pm on the first shift qnd the second were all due at 6:30 with both the first stops being 30 min away! So they all wound up being late! I tried calling but they said I had to email in for issues like that, well I have been emailing and they just keep replying with the same response plus telling me I should have called! They are penalizing me for the packages being late yet it was out of my control. They even say in their response “we take into account for warehouse delays and bad weather(which BOTH APPLIED)” and they are NOT helping me and they won’t listen. I finally got a response from someone saying “someone is looking into this”... a month later with no response so I emailed again and got the SAME RESPONSE “someone is looking into this”. Two more months later and NOTHING! The drivers mean nothing to Amazon! They have the mentality like Uber does... blame the diver until they are deactivated then just hire someone new. When it comes to the packages side... if you have a small car they give you the least amount of packages BUT the stops are all OVER AN HOUR AWAY from the warehouses. If you have a large vehicle yea you get to stay close BUT get ready to sweat, be super frustrated with the route and have to call support at least 5 times! SO terrible! DONT DO IT!

Amazon Flex Sugerencia

Amazon Flex Deactivated For No Reason/Glitchy app

Disappointed with Amazon for what they did to me. I started Amazon Flex because of the pandemic, i lost my job so i needed to make money instead of being on unemployment. So everything went fine with Amazon Flex I delivered packages took the pictures. I was only late to pick up once by 3 mins. & I had one person say they didn’t get their packages. (which I got an email for and the email said for more details email amazon support—which i did—no reply)

Basically everything was awesome other than the app messing up all the time saying I was late to delivery’s which was incorrect because I would finish all my deliveries usually 1 hr 30 min earlier than the app said. I would have to make countless phone calls to support telling them about what the app was doing. (i took screenshots/screen recordings) the driver support would say that they would email the people that would fix it. so i thought everything was alright.

only it was not. one day out of the blue i got deactivated. The email said it will give you a response on the decision in 6 days. (which was a lie) I emailed them countless of emails of screenshots/screen recordings of the app messing up and showing them proof that the app was messed up. I even took screen shots of the 30 min conversations with driver support.

Amazon rejected without reason twice giving no reason at all for deactivating me. I would like a response and tell me why I got deactivated—even with all the PROOF i sent.

This really messed me up I am about to become homeless because of the abrupt suspension without merit or reason. I am fighting every day since to get a job to unbury myself from what Amazon did to me.

Also the app is very glitchy, the maps on the app are so off. I would fix the customer support. Only being able to email a guy in a foreign country that never replies isn’t cool. The suspension process needs to be evaluated before more and more people get suspended and you guys lose money because of this.

Thanks Amazon it was a good relationship while it lasted.

Amazon Flex Worst app ever!

I was laid off and needed a quick job, so I currently deliver for Amazon. I used to work in IT for 12 years, so I have a pretty solid base for understanding software in spite of not being a programmer.

Let me just say that this probably the single worst piece of software/app that I have ever used.

To make this simple I’ll list the flaws:

- slow and sometimes unresponsive. This could be in part to the servers on the back end, but it’s ridiculous either way.
- scanner doesn’t always want to work so the package number has to be entered in manually.
- inefficiency in package delivery. All packages are in bags that are numbered. You can be at the beginning of your route and deliver to a particular street and then get to the last couple of bags (close to the end of your route) and then end up back where you started. Why would these packages not be in the same bag together to be delivered together? Fail.

- navigation is a total and complete failure. This one should have its own section just to list the flaws.
- tells you turn one direction but the map clearly shows the opposite way(ie, turn left or right or east or west, etc)
- back tracking. There is so much back tracking with delivering packages it’s insane. There is no possible way that the routes that are selected/created are the most efficient way to deliver all the packages. There is constant back and forth along the same street. It would almost be easier to find all the addresses on the route and create my own order.
- one way streets. There’s nothing like a navigation system that tells you to go the wrong way on a one way street.
- does not account for construction at all
- giving verbal instructions too late or too early or just completely wrong

I believe that there is more, but I don’t have a running list right now. I’m just going from memory. I swear so much during the course of my day because of this app. There is no way that any quality control was done. If I could rate this as a 0 I would. I’ll try to update with more issues as I remember them.

Amazon Flex REMOVE DARK MODE PLEASE

MANY MONTHS AGO I did, in fact, ask was dark mode an option and many months ago it just magically, appeared in dark mode without me doing anything that being said, I didn’t like how it was affecting my eyesight so I emailed flex support to remove as I never placed it in dark mode from the beginning and it was REMOVED and it didn’t take as long as it’s taking now, because once again magically, it appeared on my app for whatever reason and now I have had to message MANY areas in my app (even if it didn’t pertain to my reason), but at this point, it doesn’t matter to me because I am looking for SOMEONE to do what I am asking OR SEND MY MANY EMAILS TO THE CORRECT DEPARTMENT (since it seems all the areas) I have emailed in the app doesn’t want to help me to take care of the issue that I’m having.

I have contacted “support” however MANY TIMES
but I keep getting the generic Script telling me to go into my personal phone in my personal settings to turn off dark mode however, I was NOT the one who turned on dark mode to begin with so WHY would i turn OFF dark mode on my IOS?

As i stated I have complained about this many MANY months ago, when it was an issue, that it affects my vision as it’s not the best dark mode available! The whole app isn’t all dark mode to begin with, some areas of the app is still WHITE however the offers page & Other areas are in dark mode and the MAPS IN DARK MODE IS THE WORST to my vision. BIG SAFETY ISSUE!

PLEASE asking AGAIN for someone to

TURN OFF DARK MODE ON MY APP

AGAIN…. I was NOT the one who turned it on!

Extremely frustrating when i continue to receive emails telling me that I need to go into my personal settings on my iOS to turn it off!

I repeat…..

I complained about this MANY months ago when it was an issue and BACK THEN dark mode WAS removed BY SOMEONE within amazon flex or whom ever BUT not by me!

“Safety first” well I’m guessing my eyes aren’t part of this safety first?

Please have dark mode removed ASAP.

It IS a safety issue as it affects my eyes!

Please and thank you!

Amazon Flex Bad customer service and still have not receive pay!

Overall the app has its pros and cons. More cons then pros. However, this and last week i have been really been fed up with this app. On Sunday i had a block 6-10. When i got to the facility. I realize even with Amazon support that the app is having issues. They told me to speak with a manager at the Tamarac location. Which i did. While i was explained what happen over 10-15 amazon flex employees came up him explaining the same issue. So thats how i know their system was having an issue. The manager was able to get me sign in after 45 mins of my shift started. ( i was still willing to do a 4 hour block throughout this whole time.) Everyone after me was assign a block and still waited over 30 -45 mins AGAIN for a 4 hr block. The manager gave me permission to leave with pay (where i type my email in.) (btw throughout this whole time of waiting i was still trouble shooting. Disconnect from wifi and clear app history. I also was speaking to the same manager about not getting a block. He even tried to force assign a block to me and it did not work.) after i got approve to leave. I called amazon support immediately to see when the app is going to update i was advise “to give it till the end of shift and it will update.” It NEVER DID. Next day i call support the first agent was being rude and disconnect the phone on me when i was answering her questions…. The third one disconnected while i was explaining what happen. Multiple tickets has been submitted but nothing happen. The only time i got response is if i provided feedback on a call. Ohhh and you guys sent an email stating i missed a block when i was in the facility waiting for a block for 1hr and over 30-35 mins and its on camera. If i didn't have anything else i swear i would use it. Amazon needs to do way better. If i can find a way to reach out to corporate im going to if this does not get resolved by next week! I also check my emails daily so i know i haven't receive a response. Oh and by the way because of this it made me go from a lvl 3 to a lvl 2 so now im going to have other issues sadly.

Amazon Flex Amazon Flex is not flexible

I tried Amazon Flex for about 6 months. It was okay when you get routes but after a while you don’t get enough and if you do the stations don’t give you the right amount. The idea sounds great but does not account for additional things like travel delays, weather, lack of routes and penalties for not canceling at a specific time. For example you can only schedule about 3 routes a day if they are close to each other and you end up getting delays with a specific delivery then you have to cancel your next block costing you time and money because they do not give you another route to replace the one you have. Also the Amazon support team is always trying to promise you overtime or lie about rewards that they never deliver on. It seems like a con to state that this service is flexible. It’s not a fair system either, the most you can get out of this is if you get a free block meaning no packages available to deliver or good tips. Another downside is half the routes are no tips and overloaded routes that you can’t finish within the time allotted. I write not as an angry worker but someone trying to save you time it’s a temporary job with a few perks. I was let go for taking time off for being sick. I think the teams managing the program are full timers and really don’t understand business from a contractors perspective so there is a rivalry that occurs between the stations and the drivers. I also think they want drivers to be full time without benefits for yourself. I have dealt with their insurance which has $1,000.00 deductible, no thanks. Most of the experience was disappointing and to state that they are flexible is not really the case. You are constantly told that you are not performing well and that you need to deliver more packages to get a better standing which gives you better routes/first pic. Like I said it sounds better than it is but the Amazon Flex program is only working for themselves and they have no interest in helping the drivers just so long as they make their deliveries, shut up and don’t complain. It will end up costing you money in the long run.

Amazon Flex Reference to Complainer

I read the person’s complaint about the app being too bright, and how it needs a dark mode, and how they’re clumsy and scared of strangers……. —————
Heres a tip: instead of making up stories about the “dark mode” being a “safety feature” and how you think it will make you a better driver (lolololol)
————— Go into your “accessibility settings” and you can do it yourself. Inverting the colors on the app turns all the white screens to black. So there ya go- you can be a better driver asap, and dont have to blame the amazon app for your problems anymore. What a weird thing to complain about, and have the answer to fix it the whole time. I like how they tried to say the “app being too bright” is dangerous - and the fact they start it by saying: its a “safety feature” is actually hilarious. The safety feature would be: if all of these incompetent people weren’t allowed to complain anymore. They ruin it for the rest of us. Acting as if things around them are a problem… when in reality THEY are the problem and make everything around them more complicated than it needs to be. *** You can fix this “brightness issue” on your own in at least 5 different ways off the top of my head.. and complaining about it in the app reviews… making up narratives about how you have trouble walking to someones front door, and using the phone in the dark at the same time… is not one of the 5 ways lol Heres another tip.. if its dark outside… try doing one thing at a time. Dont walk and stare at your phone at the same time; would be the first thing I’d suggest. Learning more about what your iphone can do, would be my second suggestion… your settings are immense and most people have no idea what they can actually do on their own. Theres a setting that is called “reduce the white point” that does exactly what this person wants… makes the app dimmer.. But they would rather make up sob stories to try and get what they want in life. I actually laughed out loud at what they had to say.. and honestly, im going back to read it again; just to get another good laugh in. Sincerely, “Don’t Make A Dark Mode for The App”

Amazon Flex Review from a 2 year Flex Driver

Amazon will have you sitting around all day staring at your phone trying to find random offers that pop up. This gets very old. There are android phone apps that will grab offers for you, but if you have an iPhone your out of luck. Therefore you have to compete against all of the cheaters out there who have auto-grabbers. So forget about EVER getting a Wholefoods route, since tips are available with them, the app grabbers have completely cheated everyone else out of ever being able to get them. Even if you’re lucky enough to see one posted, it will be gone before you can blink.
Here in the Midwest, Amazon will send you 45 minutes outside of the city to deliver packages to customers that live in places where no human should ever live. If I could post pics and videos to prove my point, I would. You will get angry on a daily basis over having to drive 35-50 miles outside of the city, to an awful dirt road in the middle of nowhere, only to be greeted by a pack of pit bulls, and a customer who expects you to leave their package out by their gate, even though it may be raining and there’s no package delivery box.
You literally need a Jeep with a foot of ground clearance in order to do this job without issues to the road conditions that you will be encountering daily. You also better have a Vehicle that gets good gas mileage, because you’ll be putting 100 miles a day on your car, and if there are toll roads nearby, Amazon won’t reimburse you for them, YET that won’t stop this app from sending you down these toll roads daily. I personally spend $100 every month on toll fees. If you’re lucky, you might be able to make $600 a week before expenses. On average I earn about $450-$500.

So far this year, I’ve already put over 55,000 miles on my car, and there are still 3.5 months to go until the new year. This job doesn’t pay enough to cover tires, brakes, oil changes, toll fees, insurance, and lease payment, much less leave you with enough money for anything else.

This is a decent opportunity only for a very select few individuals and chances are, you ain’t one of them.

There are lots of jobs that’ll pay you $400 a week without asking you to totally destroy your car in the process. Pray long and hard before downloading this app!

Amazon Flex Pretty good delivery app but would like to see further improvements

Amazon Flex is a fantastic app for delivery drivers to make a decent and good income; however, I have some complaints related to safety, as I’m sure most customers have complained about the same thing as me. I like that you can choose your blocks on the app to schedule work and turn on Instant Offers at any time. However, when you are delivering any packages, whether it’s Fresh, regular delivery packages, etc., in dark remote areas at night such as hills, country roads, or dirt roads, which can be dangerous NOT to be provided with the proper and additional identification as contractors such as reflective vests or lighted signage to secure on the top of the vehicle to show customers that we are delivering from Amazon, but in a different vehicle. It was a scary situation when the pins on the map were imprecisely and incorrectly marked in a different location, causing me to miss the house or apartment. It can be tremendously scary when going further into someone’s property to deliver multiple packages and NOT being able to see around your surroundings. I was delivering up in Wimberley & Dripping Springs, TX, where there is minimal cell service, and challenging to identify the addresses of the person's property and then provide pins that are further into their property and mostly not being able to choose to mark that the pin was incorrectly marked at the wrong location which involves a tedious step of calling driver support to override the issue so that you can complete your deliveries and move on to the following package. It would be great to have additional identification when delivering as contractors in our personal vehicles since the risk is high when customers aren’t expecting a regular Amazon vehicle. Another way to resolve these issues is to provide many notifications when the customer is expecting that a non-Amazon truck is arriving to mitigate the risks of being physically hurt or attacked. Also, another thing is that if you go overtime in an unforeseen circumstance, you are likely or not likely to get paid when emailing Flex Driver support. I would like to see compensation when working overtime on our scheduled block since some situations are uncontrollable. Great app and I highly recommend it! It makes excellent money to flourish your wallet.

Amazon Flex Not worth it

I’ve been delivering 4 days per week, twice per day (as much as possible) for Amazon for almost 8 months & since the holidays were over, it’s gotten worse & worse & it’s no longer worth the pay.. they say $18 per hour but considering they make you drive over an hour away to deliver super often & considering the gas & biweekly oil changes, I’m only making $13 per hour & I drive a small fuel efficient vehicle which takes E85 (the cheapest fuel). I can’t imagine how anyone that drives something less fuel efficient makes any money off of this. Plus the $13 per hour doesn’t include any other maintenance. I got 4 flat tires in 6 weeks all while delivering during the holidays & Amazon did nothing to help. One of them happened when I was out in the middle of nowhere on a super dark country road & it was 6am & when I called & asked for roadside assistance because I was on a gravel driveway in an area that didn’t seem very safe, they gave me a phone number to call which kept going to what sounded like a personal voicemail & when I called support back, they insisted it was correct & eventually one person told me that they wouldn’t open for 3 more hours because they were in a different time zone.. what good would that do me?! One of the flats happened when I was on my way to the pick up station so I couldn’t make it in time & they refused to pay me for that block even though I called to inform them before I was supposed to arrive for my block & I told them I would provide a receipt to show that I wasn’t just trying to skip out & still get paid. I have a “fantastic” standing so I’m supposedly one of the top drivers but between getting more and more high mileage routes, not getting ANY reimbursement for vehicle expenses, getting less “preferred offers” for the times that I want, having more deliveries that are getting increasingly spread out, & getting the most minimal help from support, it feels like I’m constantly being punished for being a bad delivery driver despite my top standing.. I really recommend that you stay away from Amazon Flex so that you don’t get stuck in the trap of having to deliver to try to cover all of the extra vehicle expenses.. it’s amazing to me that Amazon has found yet another way to take advantage of the people that are working for them. So despicable…

Amazon Flex Hard to use

-Amazon gives you 15 minutes to be early and ONLY 5 mins to be late- even though you can be waiting 30 mins to be assigned.

-you can be scanning your packages and the itinerary will update and completely ruin your route.

- the itinerary that is presented is never the most efficient route. Never. I can finish an hour early just by creating my own itinerary.

- disgustingly hard to get the hours/ blocks you want because the ones who have priority in this type of job are those who cannot legally get a full time job. When they say that jobs are being “stolen” - these are the things they are talking about. They will sit in the parking lot and wait for ppl to miss their blocks. Conjugate and huddle inside and outside the building. Travel in groups and keep license pictures on their phone to check in for people or take multiple blocks under different names. The competition is REAL!

- when you’re on a block (let’s say 3 hours) you still have incredibly specific drop off times (ex: 12:13-12:23). When you’re “late” for the delivery, it counts against you. They can do this with almost every delivery and there can be 40 deliveries!
Not only is this completely frustrating and DANGEROUS to have to meet these impossible deadlines, but then they change your status so that in the future you can’t pick up hours.

- when you try and explain your concerns, it does not matter. Why? Because you’re replaceable.

- if there is an issue during a delivery is incredibly impossible to get in contact with anyone. They want you to calm customer service but they make you jump through hoops and then don’t get a response.

- if you’re not close enough to the delivery spot, but the customer asked you to place the package elsewhere, it’s impossible to complete the delivery. I’ve handed a package to someone and tried to close the appropriate corresponding option. Except if you’re not close enough you still can’t complete the delivery.

- some deliveries request that you bring the package to the back. Except it’s incredibly dark, no real path to get there. People don’t always properly take care of their grounds so you can get hurt on stairs that are broken, slip on ice, etc. Amazon has no way to control this but it also doesn’t give you an option to say why you won’t deliver the packages to the area they asked and guess what- it counts against you if they complain.

Amazon Flex Decent gig, awful app

I do many gig jobs on the side - rideshare, food delivery and such and you may be surprised to find this isn’t blasting the gig. Pay wise and wear and tear, the cost isn’t bad and the pay is good! But the app is way overdue for some optimization. When i have to call support once a week on average when using this app (and i only do this part time), that should be a bad sign (and obviously frustrates some support staff - which it should. Not like the call center built the app).

First, the GPS tracking is awful. Outdated addresses, poor navigation - while you can use an external map to direct, you can do nothing about the itinerary that sorts orders, often in circuitous and non-optimal routes that are not efficient. Another major annoyance with the finicky GPS is when you get to rural places with larger properties. Most folks don’t mind leaving stuff at the gate. But if you drop it off and aren’t exactly where their GPS says you should be, expect to call support for the simple task of proceeding. Hope you have the best phone reception on Earth - and even that won’t help if you go to the boonies.

The app also has many performance issues. I have had entire orders vanish without warning (a fun support call for sure that required me to read off every box individually - like i said, i am surprised support isn’t more frustrated.) I have had the app crash when using the camera. Yes, the camera. Freeze ups and lock ups are common. I have also had the app glitch when at the site to pickup - only to have my RANKING affected thanks to their poor debugging of the app. SUPER fair!

Work on battery life consumption - WAY too high. Add a dark mode. And also - this app loves to send you more shifts at the end of your run - WITH ZERO option to turn it down. The only option is accept. Pretty shady way to get more hours out of contract workers. At least Uber and EVERY OTHER GiG lets you down orders when you don’t need them. When i accidentally accepted one (my som got sick) and had to call and cancel, they knocked my ranking AND docked some of my pay for the run. Also, why does the app continue running in the background after a close in when finishing a shift? Is there any reason to track my location after using the app? Thankfully iOS caught this but it could be part of the battery equation.

The gig? Not that hard. Pay? Pretty good. But the app needs a LOT of work.

Amazon Flex Look for a different side gig

I’ve been doing this for over a year. 5-6 blocks a week. They have terrible customer service. You can call 10 times and, text 10 times and, email 10 times and, it will get you nowhere.

They do NOT care. “I’m sorry, I’ll send this to the correct department”.

The pay is very low. If you don’t have issues yes, you can do pretty good.

The problem is issues are everyday. You just hope it’s only 1 or 2 issues not 4 or 5.

App constantly takes you to wrong address but, the delivery circle is the worst. The package has to be delivered in this circle or you have to call support. Customers will leave notes to say, please leave outside of fence or gate. But, of course the circle isn’t big enough. So you waste 10mins calling support.

They will send you to a closed business at 9:00pm even though the customers notes say deliver during busy hours.

Constantly having issues where you can’t deliver packages because of things like no access to buildings or security gates.

You have to take these back to station. Which can be a big deal if your an hour away from the station.

Because you never know where you are going. You could be 10mins from station or 1-1/2 hours. You won’t know till you get their where you are going or how far you will drive or how many packages you will deliver.

If you do go, plan for 5-6 hours if it is a 4hr block with travel time.

Be prepared for lots of unresolved issues. I’ve had 12 packages that counted against me even though, at the station, they said “your good to go, thanks for bring it back”.

Which of course lowered my status for rewards & offers.

Do they care to get it right? Nope. After the sixth time I don’t even bother. I’ll send an email and I know when I send it, it is a waste of my time.

Yesterday was the end to my Amazon career.

They brought us into staging at 4:50 for a 5:00 block. About 32 drivers waiting for their packages. The employees disappeared. They didn’t come back till 6:45 because of weather but, didn't tell us anything. Nothing.

We sat in our cars for 2 hours wondering what was going on. In the end it was lightning.

Even though we didn’t see it and it wasn’t even raining.

Ok I understand but, you couldn’t call me? Send me a message? Your Amazon! You haven’t had this problem before? You didn’t plan for it? No, you just don’t care! That’s the bottom line.

Then to top it off the guy said “I’ll get you paid” as I left. It’s been 24hrs & I haven’t been paid. I’ve called twice, text once, and send 4 emails. They don’t care.

Shame on you Amazon.

Bottom line; If you need extra money I’d go somewhere else where they at least treat you fairly.

Amazon Flex Frustrating, stressful, High anxiety, OK PAY, high mileage

The Amazon flex app is good for those who need cash fast and needs a flexible schedule, BUT the gig is very frustrating and stressful most of the time with a high level of anxiety if not all the time. The gig pays OK depending on how many miles they have you driving your own car which can be 120 miles+ per block and the areas they have you delivering to with how many packages they have you delivering. The packages can all be boxes and can range from 25-50lbs which makes it very difficult to sort in vehicle and taking them to their delivery location and they put unnecessary things in boxes that should not be in boxes making them even more difficult to load due to how many boxes. They have you delivering to areas that are very unsafe and have terrible roads. They have you delivering to downtown areas as well with 48 packages during peak/ busy times and it’s no where to park and you will have to walk blocks to deliver 1 package due to no parking, as we don’t have the ability to just park in front of the business like there OWN AMAZON COMMERCIAL TRUCKS CAN which also makes it even more frustrating and very stressful. They have you delivering to many buildings/ apartment complex’s with heavy boxes which also makes it very difficult and frustrating especially when you have to walk a few blocks. You cant gain access to most delivery locations and have to call Amazon support which is also a pain because you have to spend up to 10min sometimes even 15min with support and sometimes the agent doesn’t even help and you will have to speak to another. It’s very frustrating and time consuming when you have 48 packages and all of them go to apartments and you have to call support on 42 out of the 48 stops due to a delivery issue and most of the time those apartments are in very busy business districts with little to no parking. They have you delivering to stops that are closer to home first and make all you other stops farther away making your drive time back home even longer instead of having you start farther out and moving back closer to your home. The navigation is also not great as they have have you take unnecessary routes and turns making the block even longer. Last but not least Amazon expects you to speed to the delivery locations and make your deliveries on time and sometimes does not give you time to sort/ organize your packages, for example stop 23 is expected to be delivered between 12-3pm but the block does not start until 145pm and your first stop/ delivery is 45min away, it’s nearly impossible to make stop/ delivery 23 on time, the app should know the delivery is going to be late and not on time and should not hold the us responsible.

Amazon Flex The current stop “pins”

Please for the love of god. Can u move the number of the stop you’re going to, the pin that tells you what number stop your at is blocking the actual house number. If I’m at stop 42 and the house number is 24. I’m looking for house number 42. Just move the pins over a bit to not obstruct the house number of your stop. Also. The amount of u-turns is ridiculous. I waste so much time making unnecessary u-turns. Make the stops go in one direction. Like ups does. Their system avoids making left turns because it’s costs too much in gas waiting to make that left in traffic. There needs to be an easier way. The stop numbers pins need to change. Maybe a green arrow pointing at the stop with no number and it doesn’t cover the house number. So you know where your stop is and you can zoom in to see the house number. The arrow would be a great idea because I get confused sometimes when the stop number pins are visible and look identical but the app wants me to pass one to go make a U-turn. Instead the current stop…a simple green arrow. Also. There are WAY too many things to tap just to do a single delivery . 1. I’m parked (irrelevant). 2. Scan the packages (which after it’s scanned all the packages for that stop ,It needs to stop scanning) It’s goes crazy and scans everything. 3. Continue with these packages? Why is that an option. 4. Where are you placing said package. All those option keep moving around. It’s a waste of time. 5. Take picture. Why? All these tap up here to chose “front door” tap down here to confirm. Up, down, up, down, we have our hands and arms full of packages. We can’t be fumbling around with the phone. Everything needs to be revamped from the ground up. the amount of questions us delivery associates get asked just to drop off packages is insane. I’m always looking down at the phone to pick options that I trip over things. Step in stuff that can ruin a persons day. We need to stop looking at out devices to make deliveries. Once we’ve arrived based on the gps. It should straight to scan mode. Once all is scanned, it knows to stop scanning because it said 3 packages. It approved the scanned packages. It should automatically move to the next step and we tap the place where we placed it based on notes or front door. One tap. No extra questions after that. It then should instantly open the camera. Once packages are in the white frame it snaps a photo automatically. Then we can swipe to complete deliver. All these extra unnecessary steps are killing the batteries to the phones. Less is more. Get to the point. Get to you stop. Grab packages scan scan scan. One tap of options to leave it and the camera instantly opens and is ready. That would save so much time. I hate standing at someone’s front door waiting for the camera to open. It’s uncomfortable. So I hope you can share these notes to your developer team and we can see a major app update in the very near future. Thank you for your time

Amazon Flex Misleading information / waste of time

For starters; I genuinely looked into this app, thoroughly. I read tons of reviews, most positive, and watched a few YouTube videos of people showing the process(es) of this app. After my desired research, and seeing plenty of ads for “open positions,” and “opportunities to work with Amazon Flex,” I decided to finally download the app, and register.

Following the registration process, that all-in-all took about an hour, after; proving my personal information, tax-information, a front/back picture of my I.D., and watching about 10 “safety,” and “guideline(s),” videos, the app proceeded to inform me that; it could take 2-5 day’s to verify. That being completely understandable, I decided to check the app, today, to see if I had been verified yet.

Finally, a received an email that I was verified! Being excited to finally start making money on this app; this app that is CONSTANTLY being promoted on Indeed, and job search engine, and on Amazon in general, I open the app and IMMEDIATELY regretted even downloading it. The first thing I see, when I open my app, and a message reading;
“Amazon Flex is no longer accepting new delivery partners at this time. We may contact you when opportunities are available, and you can also check your status in the app.”

I do understand high volume employees, and the lack of opportunities; but why even promote the app if after I download it, it’s borderline USELESS to me now? USELESS, until I can (hopefully?) be “squeezed” into this app? I truly don’t understand why Amazon Flex would let me continue the WHOLE on boarding process to drop a ball like they did, and after YOU FULLY ***WASTE YOUR TIME REGISTERING*** you’re THEN informed, AFTER PROVIDING ALL OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION, INCLUDING TAX INFORMATION, that they’re just randomly “...no longer accepting new delivery partners at this time.”

I fully believe this app was just a WASTE of my time, and was a complete and utter JOKE to begin with.
I honesty was looking forward to working with Amazon Flex, after all of the hype this app has received, and AGAIN after seeing it literally PROMOTED everywhere; but, as of now, the app is a sheer disappointment.

At this time, I personally DO NOT believe it’s even worth it for you to download the app and WASTE YOUR TIME filling out all of your information, following-through with the ENTIRE on-boarding process just to receive the same “message” I did.

Flex, stop promoting job opportunities that you no longer have; it’s literally MISLEADING.

Overall; unsatisfied, and would give *** 0 STARS *** if it was an option.

*** UPDATE 02/01 - I have yet to gain any access into the app, whatsoever. There are constant ads and gigs on Craig’s list, Indeed, Linkedin, and Monster in regards to there being Flex openings in my area ; however, there is not. This app is a complete joke, and I’m honestly don’t see how any of you are genuinely making money worth your time on here. I recommend Door Dash, Post Mates, Uber, Z-Trip, literally anything BUT this. I could purchase an owl and train him to deliver letters faster than Flex’s on-boarding process.

Amazon Flex 3 months Flexing - New IPhone 12 Pro Max

First of all... Day before a holiday something was bound to go wrong. They are fixing the issues and communicated through proper channels. Signing up was a breeze. 2 weeks and I was Flexing. App was glitchy at first and took about 2 weeks to work out my profile not necessarily the app. Arrived at station and logistics manually checked me in even if block showed canceled or was missing entirely. So be patient as your info is being input through the system... just like any new job. As with everything stuff changes and it’s frustrating but the money is good. App allows you to interface with Apple Maps and that has helped tremendously when delivering. Their map is a bit Basic which makes it hard to find a location but Apple Maps has their own updates to make as new construction begins as well. So using the two has helped. If I need anything I contact driver support and they can solve most any issue. I homeschool so this is perfect. If you’re an unhappy person no system or job will ever satisfy you. I pick my block. Scan my route and go. It’s me and my music for hours. I admit I have all the bells and whistles on my car to help navigate some country roads at night, fancy steep hills and driveways, and so far I’ve been sent to the hood only during the day. Well I live in the hood so it doesn’t bother me much but I’m glad I don’t have those as evening routes. So moral of the story you will enjoy the experience if you have good tech on your phone And vehicle, are patient, considerate, and care about the customer experience, communication is key with them and amazon. I love it. Have I had issues? Yes. Blocks go over and I finally got my overtime but still waiting for others. Sometimes I don’t even put in for overtime because it’s my fault or I’ve gotten paid for routes that have no deliveries. So it washes out in the end. I didn’t wait until busy season to sign up and get the hang of things. My standing is at risk because my phone broke after I started my route. However once that clears I’ll get preferred scheduling and perks of seniority I.e. delivering a lot of packages on time and to the right place. So if your lazy, impatient, inconsiderate and just plain miserable this may not be for you. Get rid of your maps and this app would be ok. We need to see more than just where the streets are and told the destination is 250 feet ahead on the left in the dark, hidden behind trees, with no number on a mailbox, or no box/house at all. I’ve been so much happier since I Figuring out I could interface with Apple Maps that show stop signs, signals, 3D views of a house, notifications of upcoming turns but the map route on the app does try to get you on the right side of the street and not left especially if the homes are on busy streets or highways. We need to be able to report driveways or difficult homes on the app and not have to call driver support. Which they can’t do anything. Apartments are the worst and better instructions from the customer need to be required. If I’m delivering 12 packs and 13 packages for a Fresh delivery we need to be able to report that location to designate as a pickup location only. Seriously there are some houses and apartments you can’t get to without climbing 50 steps so a premium needs to be offered for those locations.

Amazon Flex PLEASE READ

Well I had this app for a little over a year and it was OK it has some bug fixes it has some problems when you call customer service and I really think it’s the way Amazon flex set up they can’t really help you so they tell you to email flex support but if you email for flex support sometimes it could be better or worse because you tell them a problem and then they send you the same generic message that doesn’t help you in anyway they need to habit wear for the people that require for drivers to take a picture of where we’re leaving the package they need to give us the option to save the photo to our phones because most customers are saying they didn’t receive it when 75% of the time we leave it right in front of the door over there told us it is illegal for us to place packages in the mailbox if they fit so customers should not have the option to ask us to place it in the mailbox because we get penalized for it then if we don’t follow the customers directions the customer reports it and we still get penalized another thing as it takes a while for you to build your standing up but once it goes down it seems like it takes even longer and then my standing was at race and then one isn’t it happened that was strictly the apps fault and Amazon flex deactivated my account so I’m not sure if I’m no longer allowed to work with Amazon flex ever or if it’s like a timeframe sometimes if you do multiple blocks in a day you can always check in on time which makes you be late which affects your standing they say you have 15 minutes before your block the clock in which is true but they also say you have a five minute grace period which is false it’s really a four minute grace. And by that fifth minute if you try to check in your block will be marked as missing you will also get penalized for it I really don’t think this is something people have done long-term and if they have it could be because they don’t do it every day or most days because I did this 6 to 7 days a week 3 to 4 times a day and then the past few days I have done it I started doing prime more often because it was easier for me to do they have way too many drivers on Goldspike drive and not enough parking spaces and then depending on who security is out there we can’t park so we have to wait for someone to move before we can park because they’re trying to book all these drivers that they really don’t need and sometimes if you doing crying because it’s been several times I’ve done prime and when I try to acknowledge and except a route it either will say this route has been canceled or removed or it will give me a row I did not accept and they say I can file for an appeal within 10 days of my account being activated but most the time they take a week to answer back so 10 days is really not fair but I’m not really gonna bother… because this is an OK side gig but I think that’s what they really want you to use for it is a side gig because if you have the chance to talk to other people at whatever warehouse you’re going to they say they have a full-time job so they only do this one two days a week because I don’t think because this is considered self-employment because it’s an independent contractor they really don’t want anyone long-term that’s what I believe and I could be wrong but this app overall needs to do better

Amazon Flex Stuck on onboarding

Hello I recently applied for Amazon flex . I provided and completed all the information asked . I have been stuck on the same page for 3 weeks. I call support they tell me to email. I email they tell me to call . I call they escalate to a team that never calls back. It’s very frustrating how a big company can have lack of customer service. If someone can help me get an answer that would be great.

Desired outcome: I would like someone to reach out to Amazon and for them to get a response to why my app is glitched and for them to do there job and help me instead of going back and forth on emails and phone calls that don’t lead to anywhere

Don't even try.

Amazon is getting richer every day with Amazon Flex, the payment is ridiculous, more than 50% is spent on gas, in addition to the wear and tear and maintenance of your car. For a 3-hour route they give you 22 and 24 stops, the routes are horrible, you have to deliver in the middle of nowhere in the dark and they connect you to 2 and 3 towns and even to another state. I live in RI and they send me to CT for that measly payment. Only those who use robots can get better deals but you have to pay $50 dollars a week for the robot, according to rumor in the warehouse, the owners of the robots are the same people from Amazon.

In the warehouse where I pick up, a strike is being planned because the truth is there is too much mistreatment and poor pay.

Amazon Flex Tracking Id

My parcel was delivered today. Just wanted to say that parcel should have not been just left so far from the door and the house. We were home and the driver did not even attempt to knock the door.

Leaving the parcel in the yard was so risky because anyone could have picked it up. We have no fence.

We would have appreciated at least a knock on the door or leave parcel at the front porch.

Not happy with this sort of delivery.

Amazon Flex Deactivated unfairly

My last delivery I arrived on time yet when I went to check in it kept saying error and therefore I “missed my block” and the next day was promptly deactivated , I got support to confirm it was beyond my control yet remained deactivated , I was even told by support that I would be paid for that block since I was clearly there and I never received payment and never got my account reactivated I’ve sent several appeals to no avail and they keep saying their original determination upholds . Driver for 2 years and had a full schedule for the week I kept getting notifications about but couldn’t login. I’m so frustrated I have emailed and explained over and over again and nothing , they could care less about my sob story or how their app messed up and resulted in my deactivation cause they have hundreds of others lined up to deliver . I really enjoyed working for them but now i feel so dispensable . They don’t care about their workers point blank period

Desired outcome: Reactivation

Amazon Flex Reenable my flex account

I have been speaking with you guys for over a month now to get my account reenabled and y’all have by far been so unbelievably unhelpful that it doesn’t make any sense! I have multiple emails of y’all saying my account would be reenabled within 48 hours doesn’t happen! I’ve spoken to multiple reps to escalate this issue nothing happens! I have literally screen shot emails including the most recent one of how long I’ve waited to get the issue fixed nothing happens! And in your recent email you finally give me steps that I can actually do but guess what because my account is still disabled I can’t even do the steps and you should’ve known that because when your disabled the notification setting or area in the app does not show up at all! It is so frustrating to speak to multiple people to get a simple fix resolved just for it to still not be fixed if this isn’t fixed this last time I’m going to be forced to report y’all to the better business bureau because y’all are causing me financial distress right now and that is not ok fix it!

Desired outcome: To fix my damn account so I can work!!

Amazon will deactivate loyal drivers who has been driving for over six years because they(Amazon)are sending out instants to Flex drivers and removing them before pickup time then telling Flex drivers they didn't pick route up!Then will keep sending you the same Automated message when you try and explain .Not to Mention they were stealing our tip money that that had to pay back in lawsuit.

Desired outcome: Reactivate account because I've done nothing but right by this unfair company.

Amazon Flex Mediocre navigation

As long as you’re not actively delivering the app works great. While you’re on the road though? Different story. App freezes or bugs out and you need to restart it. More often than not it chooses to do that in a low service area meaning you waste time waiting for it to load. Navigation is the other issue. For Amazon constantly preaching about AWS, their navigation is so much work than Apple Maps and that’s saying something. Doesn’t update route based on traffic and will constantly take you to a closed off “thru” street or dead end. Needs to pair with google maps much like Doordash has done for in app navigation.

Came back to lower the rating. Every time they implement new aesthetic looks they break the app. New issues are tracking location and package labeling. App will stop tracking you if you’re not actively driving. It stops tracking you while walking up a customers drive way. Meaning you have to close the app and reload it, often in low signal areas which means wasted time. The other issue is with package labeling in app. Right now there’s a label “cycle_1” instead of the zone label in app.

Amazon Flex It’s almost good

The pay is decent although as many have stated after taxes it doesn’t amount to much. In my area usually bellow 18/hr after tax. This would be fine if they didn’t reserve the furthest most desolate routes for the flex drivers. They’re usually an hour out from the hub, I’m a rural area with no paved roads. Little support is available. They have delivery locations that can’t be reached, or that are outside of the actual delivery location. My most recent trip I had to call multiple times because the drop off location was further from the actual home being delivered to. The number one change that could and should be made is showing the route prior to accepting. I understand it may be because they don’t know the specific load prior to pickup from the depot, but then again they should be specifically assigned once accepted. It would be great if connection in the warehouse was improved. Many times I have to waste time once I am loaded because the app can’t connect and start the route before I leave the hub. Then when I leave it tells me I’m not at the pickup location although I’m all scanned and ready to go.

Amazon Flex Want a job where you mean little to nothing ? Work for Amazon

Want to work for a company with little to no benefits ?
Does being paid the lowest out of all logistic company drivers sound appealing to you ?
Want to work for a company that blames you for things that are out of your control such as stolen packages ?
How about a company that continues to mistreat their employees ?
What about a company who disregards the death of a driver mauled in a dog attack ?
Or one that forces workers to stay and work as a tornado ripped through their warehouse killing many?

This company has grown worse over the years and as a result has one of the highest turnover rates in history.

Then they have the audacity to get onto the news media and complain they can’t fill in enough positions.

Meanwhile they fire people over the most petty reasons.

After all, they expect you to be a perfect machine, not a human being with feelings.

I have 3 years experience in their warehouses and 4 1/2 years experience as a flex driver and have seen this company continue to go downhill.

If you value your safety, your time, the wear and tear on your vehicle as well as want to make a livable wage. Stay clear of Amazon.

Amazon Flex Don’t do it!

Very rude unprofessional and ignorant hub employees! Normally same location (I normally don’t accept block from there but I did that day!) Deactivated me because I defended myself against such people you hire? And before you spoke to me about the incident? And refused to accept the video I recorded or listen to the phone call of the guy yelling at me while on the phone with support trying to file complaint or report on “the boss” who refused to provide his name! Thanks!
Future flexers know this- tip: be ready to
Shut up and eat crap without talking back! Word to the wise grab the name of these such people BEFORE you hand your ID over before you start putting the packages in your vehicle! They will not talk to you or ask you anything of the situation before deactivating even if you’re in the middle of a delivery block at 4 am with 45-50 of their packages in your car!
App overall has a lot of bugs map issues and driver support is not good at all! Customer service through the app and at the hub stations are horrible! Wish this experience could have gone a different way! But somehow my standings are “fantastic” but I’m deactivated! Again thanks!

Amazon Flex Slavering people

Well you guys should also look at all these factors that make your program inefficient and in some cases even poorly structured kind of hoping to take advantage from the necessity of a lot of people looking for income. All the staff from customer service to warehouse needs to be trained to make this program more efficient. There are too many delays that add up a great amount of time lost in stuff that can be done quick. Blocks because of warehouse staff unorganized have us waste like 15 to 20 minutes, packages mapped out without really checking if that’s the most efficient route have us to go back and forth to almost the same delivery locations, not paying attention to customers’ notes saying you can deliver packages at gates that are a little far from their houses so we have to call support waste like 10 minutes talking and trying to marked packages as delivered, super far locations very bad roads, a lot of miles, gas, etc. This program is not paying enough or what’s really deserved. Sure you can say look for something else and I am but I feel with the necessity to say what I think so we don’t have or stop having jobs that in some cases feel like slavering people.

Amazon Flex Crappy Onboarding

Wish I could give it 0 stars. I began and completed onboarding, and once the app prompted me to sign out and sign back in, I did so. When I signed back into the app, all of my progress for onboarding as gone, and it prompted me to start the process all over again so I followed its instructions. As a result, without my knowledge, doing so made me make 2 accounts, which was not what I was trying to do. I then received an email from Amazon Flex Support notifying me that my account would be deactivated for violating the terms of use and making multiple accounts (which I didn’t do, the app did) and that I would no longer be eligible to work for Amazon Flex. I emailed the Amazon flex support email 8 times trying to get through to a real person but all I got were bots reminding me that my account had been deactivated. I tried contacting a real person through the regular Amazon app and it seemed they couldn’t help or even direct me to a real person to help with my problem, they told me to contact the Amazon Flex support email even though I already explained to them that that didn’t work. Bottom line, crappy app and crappy support. I’m gonna try my luck with the UPS Roadie app instead.

Amazon Flex More improvements can be done

While I appreciate that Amazon is looking to block bots, this puzzle verification system that has been put in place seems to be half baked and should be reworked/fixed. While I’m constantly hitting refresh to try and capture a block that is repeatedly being taken and dropped, when I finally “catch” it it appears to not really grab and reserve the block while I’m now being asked to do the puzzle verification. After I complete the verification it turns out that it was never mine and it was thrown back out to everyone else while I’m stuck verifying I’m human. This system has caused me to lose out on several attempts to capture a block I needed and left empty handed. Fix this issue or remove it entirely and come up with some other sort bot detection that doesn’t interfere with us humans trying to make money.

Another area that I’ve been submitting feedback about is in regards to filtering offers. While Amazon has come a long way with how you can filter offers, being able to filter which days you want to see would help immensely and will stop the annoyance of future days showing up when one is trying to catch a block the day of and the same block but a future day is in the way. This should and can be implemented quite easily in the filtering screen.

Amazon Flex Horrible

No signal, maps takes forever to re-route while delivering. And you can’t use apple or google maps it has to be Amazon one. And the volume kept glitching where it would work sometimes and other times not so I wasn’t able to hear navigation and drive at the same time. I also was mislead to 2 house twice it kept leading me to an abandoned store, when the actual home was 10 minutes away. And you literally can’t turn off Bluetooth and use it, so I had car problems where I can’t do Bluetooth because it won’t hear so I tried turning it off so I can use usb to connect and hear from instead and it just kept connecting and Amazon wouldn’t work for me. Also if you want to do deliveries in your area you’re in for a treat, you can “start” in your area, then arrive at warehouse and get a delivery for over 40 minutes away. That’s what happened to me, as it was I’m broke and having to drive that fare was insane. So I wasn’t able to deliver all “43” of my packages I did about half, and came back to return the rest because it was well over 4 hours of me doing my scheduled block. I called customer support and asked if I can end it and return packages since I wasn’t able to deliver on time, and they said it was fine. So I get to the warehouse 1 hour later and this manager looking guy was rude to me, and gets all judgy to me. I had a horrible night to begin with as this was also my first time doing it and will never do so again, what a nightmare.

Amazon Flex If i could give a negative raiting

To start off you don’t make as much as you think. Once you do the numbers half or more of your earnings goes to the gas and not including your car maintenance. Second they expect you to deliver 30-40 packages on a 3-3.5 hour route which would fine if you don’t have to wait 30-40 mins just to get the packages (like most days) and that does not include the time that you have to put on organizing the packages in the car or the traffic. I even got on a argument with one of the workers in the ware house because i had a 3 hr route and i had 40 packages and i returned about 15 packages and said that it could be done (delivered in the time frame) Third, I’m not sure if anybody had this issue or just me but every time i would check in even when i was 20 mins early it would mark me up late (which i had complained several times with proof) and nothing was done about it as well with route cancellation i would cancel with enough time and the app would still send me notifications that i had a route the only thing they did about this is terminate me. Don’t get me started about the maps. Sometimes i would get address in the middle of nowhere with no signal and it would take me in circles. The maps lags alot and when you make the delivery sometimes it would say that you weren’t on the highlighted area when you be at the front door. I could keep going off about this so call work opportunity but i gave it enough of my time. DONT WORK FOR AMAZON.

Amazon Flex This app is suppose to be for working employees

Among the many glitches, freezes and crashes, the maps system needs a complete overhaul. This is by far, one of the worst and most unreliable apps I have ever used. Load times are ridiculous as well.

Maps needs an overhaul:
Maps will send you to a pin that’s not on the road the pin is on, sometimes the pin is incorrect as well, sometimes the whole address is wrong. I’ve had to pull out my own mapping system on occasion to find the address.
The new highlight feature is cool and all but it’s also unreliable…it’s come in very handy for nighttime driving but oftentimes the highlighted house will not be the correct house. Also the highlight feature should highlight the house you’re next to all the time so you can better gauge how close you’re getting to the target house, this would help a lot as some customers block their address number or when it’s dark and harder to read numbers.

Freezes: Flex will often freeze, and sometimes the only way to fix it is to completely restart the app, and then when you do that, it takes forever for it to load back up, sometimes not even doing that and you need to restart the entire phone to get it to work.

Glitches: I go on break or lunch, plug in the phone to power so it can charge…time on break and/or lunch goes crazy…annoying
The itinerary will be out of order and sometimes while scrolling it’ll jump you back to the beginning.

Amazon is a multi-billion dollar company, and this is the app they make their drivers use
