We selected a Sheepadoodle from their website and placed a deposit through PayPal. The size of the Sheepadoodle (Mini) was misrepresented and ultimately Tina the owner said we could switch to another dog within the size range we wanted. We made the switch and was told we could pick it up "at your convenience." As couple of days later I suggested a date, Tina said the date was too far out and I then moved the date up 4 days and Tina confirmed the date (April 27, 2020) was good for pickup. Well today, April 24, we got a message from, PayPal that she returned our deposit and used Covid-19 as an excuse. I tried to reason with her (via text since she never picks up her phone). It was obvious she sold the dog to another party, which for some reason was more convenient to her.
While not familiar with your particular case. I will say that I was told by her via text that it is her policy not to speak to people on the phone. She did manage a text at 11 pm. I would never deal with a breeder that refuses to speak to people on the phone.
Size misrepresented? Excuse me, I am the one who reached out to you to let you know I felt the puppy you placed a deposit on was going to be bigger than what you were looking for. I gave you the option to keep your deposit on that pup or choose another that may be smaller! Yes a deposit was made and refunded due to the fact that I live in a small rural area in Pa, I have children and grandchildren. I had returned two deposits on this litter. One to this particular customer who lives in NY and the other family that resides in Ca. These are two states that have the highest Covid-19 cases and deaths. As of today there are 38, 953 cases, 19, 415 deaths in NY. Pennsylvania cases 50, 092, Deaths 2, 458. I explained to this customer that I am protecting not only my family but my neighborhood by not having people from other states come in to pick up a puppy at this time. It is also ordered by the state. I did indeed find a home for the puppy with a local family. We have no idea how long this is going to go on it could be months, It was not fair to these puppies to have to wait months for the Covid-19 stay at home order to be lifted, They were placed with loving local families. I did apologize and explain the unfortunate circumstances to these families.
